“What do you want?” he shivered in the cold as he was thrown to the ground, in front of Jay. Shawn looked up at him, like he was a towering figure.
“Just returning what you owe me.” Jay said coldly. He grabbed him by his chin and commanded his hateful gaze at his bloody bruised face. “What happened to your cockiness?” he questioned with revulsion.
“Let.. Let me go.. Please..” Shawn begged, almost wetting his pants.
Jay hated him to the core. He was that bastard who treated him inhumanely, demolishing his pride and ego. “You should have prepared for a day like this when you messed around with me.”
Yanking him away, Jay rose and adjusted his coat. “Ben, show him what’s business.”
“Yes, Boss.” At once Ben emerged from the crowd of Jay’s men and proceeded to Shawn’s direction. That coward staggered back with his hands, until he was cornered at the wall. They had broken one of his legs and it was impossible to escape.
Death was befalling. “NO! Mr. Chou, please!” Shawn cried hysterically. Ben delivered a harsh kick to his chest and the sharp pain silenced his voice.
“Boss now gives you three choices.” Ben began, “Buried alive, drowned alive, or beaten to death.”
Shawn shook his head vigorously at the menu of death he was offered with. “I.. I want to live..” his heart trembled and seized with panic. “Please..” He rolled over and crawled devastatingly to Jay’s side. “Please give me a chance. I don’t want to die!” he begged, tugging onto one side of his pants. “Please, for the sake of the woman you love, don’t kill.”
Jay tossed him a repugnant glare. “Stop using her as a bait again!” he hollered as rage surged through his veins. “You are such a coward, and I despise that.”
Shawn was in fraught grief to save his dear life but failed desolately. Even regret couldn’t be of much help. In tears, he continued blabbing and pleading for mercy, some which only infuriated Jay further.
Finally when Jay decided he had enough of him, he commanded his man, “Mark a vacant spot at the graveyard. Bury him alive.”
Shawn shrieked and thrust his legs feverishly as Jay’s men dragged him out of the vacant warehouse to a graveyard nearby. Despite his grieving wails, they threw him into the ditch.
The image of how Shawn struggled in the ropes would always remain vivid in Jay’s memory. He eyed down at him with emotionless eyes as his men tossed sand down on him with spades.
Jay’s heart acquired no pity. He was accustomed to sights of death and Shawn, who kidnapped his love to lure him out simply deserved the punishment. Nothing, not even Jolin could change his mind. Though images of her somewhat made him uncomfortable.
Shawn was still struggling and yelling with tears.
Until the earth covered him completely and Jay could see him no more.
“Rest in peace” he muttered and walked to his car.

She couldn’t believe the ‘break in’ procedure droned on smoothly than she had expected. She slipped the diskette into the CPU after successfully gaining access into Jay’s computer system. The clock hanging on the wall ticked its time and Jolin rumpled with nervousness.
He might be back anytime and she needed to finish this fast. “Come on.. Quick..” she muttered tensely, drumming her fingers on the mouse. She watched the files transferred from the system to the diskette.
It honestly was a dreadful feeling to betray Jay. It was like stabbing him by the back when he was caught off guard. But for the sake of her life, peacefulness and leaving Franklin clan, she had to do it.
‘Transfer completed and successful’ - Those words on the screen expressed a whole lot of message to ease her anxiety. Heaving a sigh of relief, she removed the diskette and slipped it into her pocket. Then, she shut down the computer, stood up, pushed the chair inwards, making sure everything looked the same like no one had touched it.
With a satisfied smile playing over her lips, she treated toward the door. But her happiness dispersed in a matter of seconds. A terrible wave of shock struck her the moment she flung open the door. Her heart went tumbling down and that contented smile of hers dropped instantly.
“Jay?” she gasped with evident fear.
“What are you doing here?” he questioned bluntly and took a step forward, causing her to retreat.
“I…” her brain racked frantically for valid reasons. “Aren’t you suppose to be at work? Why are you back so fast?” she asked, trying to give a perfect smile but tenseness got the better of her.
Jay stared her flatly in the eyes. “You have not answered my question.” his frosty voice made her flinched, “What are you doing here?”
“I’m…I’m just here to serve the Internet.” she stammered, her eyes looking anywhere but not his face. “Its lonely staying at home and its raining outside. I’m stuck.” Her heartbeat accelerated, plaiting silently Jay would buy her words.
“But I can’t access to your computer.” she added in fast in hope to remove his suspicion. “It requires something like a password.”
“This is my private office room.” he stated. His unpredictability resembled a time-bomb, like it would explode anytime without her alertness. Cold sweat formed underneath her palms.
“My apologies.” she muttered with a cheerless look. “I wasn’t aware of that. You didn’t tell me before.”
When he didn’t respond but just eyed at her impassively, she acted upset. “I guess I will just leave.” she sighed, about to walk out when he seized her by the arm and pulled her to his embrace.
“I‘m sorry.” he hugged her tight with her head resting in his chest.
“Its okay.” she whispered, secretly rippling with relief.
