Chapter 8

Realization 2

Her point of view

The performance would be starting in fifteen minutes and Charlene was still feeling nervous and troubled. She couldn’t figure out what the teacher wants them to do. Express love? How is that supposed to be like? Just then she felt another presence in the dressing room. She turned around and found Show standing at the door.

Charlene: Hey! When were you here?
Show: uh… I just came awhile ago.

Charlene realized Show was staring at her and began to feel uncomfortable.

Charlene: Why are you staring at me like this? Do I look weird?
Show: No, no. you look amazing. Really beautiful.

This complementary made her blushed. This is the first time someone compliment her with the word ‘beautiful’.

Charlene: Thank you. *smiles*

Just then the teacher came into the dressing room and started gathering the students.

Teacher: Show, Charlene, I have one advice to give you before you guys go out there. Think about the person you love the most and pretend that you’re saying those words to them. Okay?
Show and Charlene: yes ma’am!
Teacher: alright! Break a leg everyone!
Class: ALRIGHT!

Before Charlene made her appearance for the play, she tried to follow teacher’s advice. “Think of the person you love the most and pretend you’re saying those words to that person.” She closed her eyes and tries to think of the person she loves and the image that came to her mind is Show. She can feel her own cheeks blushing when she saw his image in her mind. She finally accepted the fact that the weird feelings and behavior was all because she loves him but she didn’t know how to react. She had always been in love with him all these while and now she knew what she should do. She decided to take action after the play.

During the love scenes between Romeo and Juliet, Charlene was able to express the words of confession differently and with more emotions than before. She finally was able to understand the love Juliet felt for Romeo. And her Romeo was standing right in front of her.
However, Charlene unconsciously got deeper and deeper into the role of Juliet and during the death scene of Romeo, she cried her heart out. It was as though Show really died and left her. And it was at this moment that she realized the importance of Show to her…
