After Ella had confessed that she likes Chun, I had been pestering her to tell me the reason for she begins to like him. "Shut up Hebe! And hurry up. We will be late for tutorial." Yes, it was the first day of the second term and we were walking to our room. "Then should we run?" I joked with her, at the same time, bumping onto someone. "Sorry." The person turned around and smiled at me. I rubbed my eyes, wondering if I did see wrongly. Why was he smiling at me? The person is weird. "Hebe! Come back to Earth my dear!" Ella shouted into my ear. "Let's run to the room. We're late." As we stepped into the room, the second bell had just rung. "Phew. That's close." I wiped the sweat dripping. "Ahem." The voice gave a shiver down our spines. We turned behind and saw Ms Lim. "What are you girls still standing here? I suppose Selina has quit studying right? That's good because there will be one student less for me to scold." "Sorry Ms Lim." We quickly took our seat beside Chun and giggled.
On my way home, I felt someone was following me behind. I quickened my footsteps and turned into an alley. I picked up the wooden stick found at a corner and raised it up, to hit the person. As soon as I heard the footstep getting louder and louder, I jumped in front of him and started whacking him. "HEBE!" That voice sounds familiar. I stopped hitting him and looked closer. "It's you! The guy I bumped into in the morning. Why are you following me?" He scratched his head. "Actually I've been following since the year had started. I like you since last year and I'm here to protect you." "But I don't know you yet!" I tried to make an excuse. "I'm XiaoGui from Room 203. I like to play basketball and soccer. I like to see girls in bikini... ah no no... I mean I don't like..." He was stuttering and I can sense he's nervous. "Ok XiaoGui, enough." "Ahh! You remember my name!" "You just told me." I rolled my eyes. "Oh yes. Hahaha. Sorry about that." He played with his shirt. "Can I request something from you Hebe?" He looked at me with hopes. "Can I kiss you?" What?! He wants to kiss me when I just know him? He's insane! I mean he's a year younger than me and I don't even know if he's mentally unwell. Because the way he acts and speaks is so eerie and weird! "Silence means consent!" He leaned forward and his lip was getting closer. I started to sweat and had no idea what to do. I wanted to tell him not to kiss me, but I can't open my mouth. Instead, I closed my eyes, hoping for a miracle to happen and that XiaoGui would not kiss me.
I suppose miracles really do happened. After a minute of closing my eyes, XiaoGui hadn't kissed me. As I opened my eyes, I saw Aaron clutching onto XiaoGui's collar. "What are you doing Aaron?!" I shouted. "Let me go!" I pulled his hands away from XiaoGui. I went over to help XiaoGui as he had difficulty in breathing. After a couple of minutes, XiaoGui was better and Aaron was still standing, with his arms folded. "XiaoGui, I'm sorry but you can't kiss me. And I don't like guys that are younger than me. You seem to be a good guy and you can find someone better than me. Thanks for protecting all this while in the dark." I gave him a warm hug. "It is because of him?" He pointed at Aaron. Aaron held my hand. "Yes. I'm her bf and so, you can scram." XiaoGui understood it and walked away feeling sad. I shoved Aaron's hand and walked off. Then my hp rang.
*Conversation.*
Me: Hello.
Dad: Hebe when are you coming home?
Me: I'm on my way now Dad. What's the matter?
Dad: Don't you remember? My old friend is coming to our house today for dinner.
Me: Oh I forgot. Hehehe. I will rush home Dad.
Dad: Better get your butt home quick! He's coming in another 30 minutes. You got to dress yourself up.
Me: For what? It's just a dinner right Dad?
Dad: Just come home quick.
Me: Yes Dad. Bye.
*End conversation.*
When I reached home, Dad told me to bathe and changed into a dress he had bought for me. "It's on your bed Hebe!" He shouted from the kitchen. I broke my record for taking 10 minutes to bathe. Usually, I would take my time in the bathtub, singing to myself. I wore the dress and did my hair. And the doorbell rang just in time. "I'll open the door Dad!" When I opened the door, I got a shock of my life. "Is Mr Tien here?" A guy in his fifties asked. "Yes Sir and you are?" "I'm Yan Xing Wen, and this is my son, Aaron." He introduced himself and Aaron popped his head behind his father. "Hi Hebe. We meet again." He gave me a smirked and I invited them into the house and they took a sit.
