I saw the contract in the table. It was a Ferrari contract for replaced Baron Chen. When I saw the contract, I couldn’t stop thinking about Ella. About woman that choose him over me after that incident. After that terrible incident.
It happened in Monaco Race. Everything was going smoothly about my career and also my love life with Ella. Although we were not yet declared our self as a couple, but I knew our relationship is going into a positive way. The incident that brought Ella into Baron, once again, and made her left me.
That incident, made Baron lose one of his leg. Ella felt she still has responsible for him because of he is his ex-husband and Hana’s father. I could remember clearly how Hana came to Monaco from Taiwan to see her father in hospital and cried in Ella’s hug when waited him in ICU.
When I was there, I couldn’t do anything to comfort her. To comfort Hana. They just needed to see Baron safe and alive. Everyone who saw the incident wouldn’t believe that until today, Baron was still alive. It happened when his car lose a balance and he was spinning in the middle of the fast tunnel in Monaco. Fast tunnel was a tunnel in Monaco circuit which has the highest speed area in that circuit. Two cars behind his cars couldn’t stop their cars immediately and it ended up with their cars hit Baron’s car and he crashed on tunnel wall.
It was such a very terrible accident. The biggest accident in 10 years back after Senna incident, in fact it was more terrible than Senna’s but because of the safety in formula one car, Baron didn’t die like Senna.
I was there beside her when she waited Baron awake from his comma. I could sense she still so worried about her. Call me selfish, but her action reduced my trust about our relationship. I thought Baron was no longer become an obstacle between us. Because Ella’s choice was me. She had been chosen me instead of stuck on her past.
But when she told me. “Chun… I thought we couldn’t continue our relationship. Baron needed me. I have to beside him. He didn’t have anyone else. He needed me and his daughter to support him.”
Baron must let his left leg being amputated. That gave him an emotional shock beside of physical shock. I also fully understood that he needed Ella and Hana. I accompanied Ella whenever she went to the hospital. I could sense Baron even couldn’t smile or talk without Ella beside him.
Ella gave up her work as a race engineer to take care of Baron. It has been passed almost 6 months after the incident, and Ella still there.
I lost Ella. I lost my race engineer. Even my career was getting steady with an offer from Ferrari as their driver in next year. But I really couldn’t sign this contract. I need her accompany. I need her suggestion. I didn’t want to turn like Baron after I signed contract with Ferrari. After I got an eternal glory. I didn’t lose my leg like Baron but I lose a half of my soul.
Formula One is the one who made me met Ella, but also the one which made me separate with her. Is it really had to end this way? Our story was too short. Just 9 months and that were not enough. Ella… is it really has to be end like this? Is it really our ending?
I couldn’t forget about the first night that I spent with you after my first podium in Australia. Even you said it was too fast but we are really in love there.
I couldn’t forget when in Sepang, the second race after Australia… finally you said that you loved me and because of my happiness I even brought Hana to visit you and we spent another happy time eating ice cream just like when we did in the winter testing. I really thought we could be a family in the future.
And so much another happiness in 6 months back. Why it has to be ended this way? Is it really our ending Ella?
