Chapter 1

Still Heartbroken

The phone was ringing, but no one was home.

"Hi! You've reached Eun Hye, can't come to the phone right now, please leave your name and phone number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible." (BEEP)

"This is Docter Kim Jung Hoon from Inch'on. I'm calling in regards to your mother. She's come back to the hospital again. It seems that it was more serious this time. Please give me a call back and I'll explain her condition to you. Bye."

Right then, she entered her house. Behind her was a handsome guy. She put some of the groceries on the table and told him to do the same. He put the bags on the counter and went to hug her.

"What are you going to cook for us tonight?" he asked hugging her from behind.

"I don't know. What do you want to eat? I'll cook it for you."

"It doesn't matter. I love eating everything you cook."

"Okay, I'll cook my famous kelp soup. Is that okay?"

"My favorite." He gave her a nip on her neck. She pushed him away. "Go watch tv and I'll cook."

He went to the living room and turned on the television. There was an interesting news on.

"There's been rumor that you are engaged. Is that right?"

"Yes, but we've called it off. It's been a couple of years now."

"But you never publicly announced the engagement off. Are you guys still engaged?"

"Well, technically, yes we are. But we only have a couple more months until we can finally call it off."

"Why is that?"

"On our engagment paper, it says that we have to be engaged to each other for four years unless if we get married before that. But if we still don't then the contract is void."

"You never announced who your fiance is. Can you tell us who she is?"

"Ha.ha..ha.. Sorry. I can't. I've promised her that I won't tell anyone who she is."

"Oh, why is that?"

"It was a dream of hers to become someone, finding herself was important and she didn't want to be known as my fiance."

"What was her dream?"

Eun Hye heard part of the interview and was suspicious. "Honey, who's on?"

"It's a guy from Inch'on. His name's Joo Ji Hoon."
She froze. She ran into the room and saw his face plastered on the television.

"Her dream was to become a doctor. She wanted to help people. She's always said that when she becomes a doctor, she'll work hard to help those who are in need."

"Have you talked to her lately?"

All of a sudden his cell was ringing. He took it out and apologized. "I'm sorry, but I have to take this call." He was about to leave the stage, but the director wouldn't let him. "Yes, Doctor Kim Jung Hoon? What? Mother's in the hospital? Okay, I'll be right over."

He shut off his phone and looked at the interviewer.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go. My mother's in the hospital." He left the stage and raced to his car. He was racing to the airport.

Eun Hye was confused. She knew that name before, Doctor Kim Jung Hoon. Why did it sound so familiar? She knew that Ji Hoon's mom died when he was little. Finally, she remembered. "Mother!!!!"
