"What is that thing on the lawn?"
"I don't know, but I think it's a car. When I pressed on the remote here," she showed him the keys, "the car starts beeping." She hit the button and all of a sudden the blaring noise came on.
"Oh, it is. It's the car I bought you this morning. Don't know why they boxed it for."
"What? You bought me a car? What for?"
"So you won't be inconvenienced."
"You mean, so that I won't be an inconvenience to you."
Ji Hoon looked at Eun Hye and shook his head. He brought her closer to him. "It's not that. I love to drive you around, it's just....I'm not always there to take you places."
"I know that already." She said it so low, it was almost a whisper.
"Eun Hye....I know that you know."
She looked up at him. "Know what?"
"You know what I'm talking about."
"Ji Hoon, I don't care. It's none of my business."
"Then, you know that I'm.."
"Dating Ms. Lee. I already knew that." She cut him off quickly trying to avoid this conversation. "I must go check on Yoojin. He must be doing his homework."
She turned around and was about to walk away, but he held onto her hands. He pulled her back into his embrace.
"How did you know about that?"
She looked into his eyes then lowered it. "It's not important."
"It is. Because....we're not dating."
She looked up at him and then lowered it again. "It's okay Ji Hoon. It's your personal life."
"I'm your fiance. How can I do that to you? I promise..." he raised his hand "I'm not dating Ms. Lee. We're just acquintance." He kissed her forehead. "I would never do that to you."
They looked into each other's eyes and were moving closer and closer. Their lips met, but then a blaring noise came from outside. They both pulled away and looked at Eun Hye's hand which held the keys.
"Sorry." She put the keys on the table and went upstairs.
The next morning, Ji Hoon went to the office early so Eun Hye sent Yoojin to school by herself. That afternoon, she went to surprise Ji Hoon at his office with some lunch she made with her mom. When she got to his office, they said taht he was out. She left the food with the secretary and was about to leave the building when she saw Ji Hoon and Ms. Lee sitting at a table talking.
'Why is Ms. Lee here? School's not out yet, why is she here?' She was going to go to the table, but thought better of it. 'Why did he lie to me? He didn't need to. He should have just told me the truth.'
The drive home was filled with questions and the scene kept running through her head. She decided that she wasn't going to ask about it. She didn't care, but the truth was, she didn't want to know the truth. Because, it might just hurt deeper.
Days passed by and the wedding was getting closer. She needed to go back to work soon too. She started to drift away from him and he could sense it. He decided to take her out for dinner. They were at a nice restaurant enjoying their meal.
"Eun Hye, are you okay? Is something wrong?"
She shook her head, but didn't look at him.
"Why are you so silent? Tell me. Is the wedding plans too stressful?"
"It's nothing." She still didn't look at him.
"Eun Hye....just tell me what's wrong."
She looked up at him and then scoffed. She finally had enough. She didn't want him to lie to her. "Ji Hoon....I hate it when people lie to me."
"Lie? What happened? Why are you like this?"
She threw her fork and knife on the plate and got up. She grabbed her jacket and left the restaurant.
He caught up to her and pulled her around. "What is wrong with you?"
"Nothing!" She pulled away from his grip and stomped away.
She hailed for a taxi and left. When he got home, she wasn't home yet. Finally, after three hours of waiting for her she finally came home.
"I'm tire. I don't want to say anything to you." She left him standing in the doorway and went up to her room.
The next morning Eun Hye was still mad, but Ji Hoon had no idea why.
"Yoojin? Tell your dad that I will send you to school by myself."
"What? Daddy? Mommy said that.."
"Yoojin, tell your mommy that we will send you together."
"Mommy.."
"Yoojin, tell your daddy that I don't want to see his face."
"Grandma!" Yoojin got up and ran to his grandma that was entering the dining room.
"What's wrong, Yoojin?"
"Mommy and Daddy are fighting."
"What is wrong with you guys?"
Eun Hye got up and left the room. She came back with Yoojin's backpack and her bag. "Let's go Yoojin, or you'll be late."
Ji Hoon got to his office to find a basket in his office. His secretary walked into his room. "I'm sorry sir. I forgot to give this to you yesterday. I left early and you hadn't come back from the lunch yet. Your fiance left it yesterday at lunch time."
"She came to the office?"
"Yes. I thought that maybe she would have seen you downstairs in the lounge, but I guess she didn't."
He ran out of his office to his car. He drove home happily because he knew that she would never admit that she likes him or that she was jealous. 'Eun Hye, why are you so stupid?' He thought back to the lunch. He had bumped into Ms. Lee accidentally while she was there to grab some things for her husband.
He got home and went to look for Eun Hye. He entered her room and found her clothes all packed in luggages.
