"How are you feeling?" She asked her mother, but her mother was quiet. She knows that her mom was still mad about the whole boyfriend thing. "Mom...Joo Ji Hoon and I...have decided to marry." She knew that she was hurting Im Taebin with everyone of these words. She didn't expect to say it, but if it was to make her mother happy, she would give up her love.
Joo Ji Hoon and her mom looked over at her immediately. "Yoon Eun Hye, why" but he was cut off.
"Might as well tell mother. She's the one waiting to hear this for so long. I want her to hear it first."
"No." He knew that she did not love him. She was only doing this for her mother. "Yoon...Eun...Hye, you...shouldn't have said that."
"Joo Ji Hoon, why not? Mother has the right to know."
He remembered the scene from yesterday how she was in Im Taebin's arms. "It can't be this way." With that, he walked out of the room and stalked to his car.
She went running after him and left her mom trying to understand what the two children were talking about.
"Joo Ji Hoon, wait."
He turned around and was face to face with her.
"Why did you do that in front of mother?"
"Why not? I don't want to lie to her."
She looked up at his eyes and saw sadness. She knew for some sort of reason, it was because of this proposal. "Can we at least do this until...mother gets better?"
He looked away from her and heaved a sigh. "I don't think that I can do this."
"Please, Joo Ji Hoon. Did you see how happy mother was when I told her? What if we went back down there and told
her the truth? What will happen?"
"Yoon Eun Hye. You're making this difficult. I didn't think that you would do that. Mother is going to find out about Im Taebin one day. Why not just tell her now?"
She was getting upset that he would not agree. "Because, she is not feeling too good at the moment. You saw how she was when she asked me if I had a boyfriend. Please, Joo Ji Hoon."
He looked at her pleading eyes. He was still mad at the scene of her being in Im Taebin's arms and he will never forget it. "How will we break up before the wedding?"
"You will get a new girlfriend."
He looked at her furiously. "What? NO! I am not doing that."
"How else will we break up. If I have a boyfriend, then mother will know all along that we were just lying. We have to do it this way."
"No! I will" but was cut off by his phone ringing. "Who's this? Ok, I'll be there in thirty minutes. Yes, I'll see you soon." He looked at her and turned around and started walking towards his car, but he felt someone grab hold of him and hugged him. He stopped in his tracks and looked sadly at nothing. How he long to feel her in his arms. How he wanted her to hug him everyday, but it was all just dreams.
"Joo Ji Hoon." She mumbled. He heard her silent cries and could feel the back of his shirt was getting damped. "Please. Just this once. I promise I'll do anything you want."
He grabbed hold of her and turned around. "Yoon Eun Hye, don't cry." He wiped her tears away and hugged her. "I will do as you say, but....the promise."
She looked up at him feeling a little better. "Yes?"
"I...I will ask for it when...the time comes." He lets go of her and kissed her forehead. "Wait for me here. I'll be back soon. I need to go solve something really quick. I'll be back to pick you up."
He brought her back to her mother's room and saw a smile on her mother. "Mom, I have to go. I have an emergency. I'll be back to see you." He leaned down and kissed her cheeks.
"Ok, son-in-law. I am so happy today. My wish has come true." She looked happily at the two of them.
He left and Yoon Eun Hye went into her mother's embrace. "Mom, I love you so much. You scared me."
"I didn't know what happened. You wouldn't answer my question, so I was beginning to think that it was...never mind. I know that Joo Ji Hoon loves you a lot. He will never hurt you."
Her mother hugged her tightly and she felt a twinge of pain in her heart. 'If only you knew what will break us up' she thought to herself.
