Chapter 9: Roma, Part I
“Let’s go to the bar!” both Leila and Tavia chorused as Nancy nodded.
“Let’s go, since we have an afternoon flight tomorrow!” Nancy said as she turned around to see if the boys were coming.
“Where’d they go?” Leila asked as she walked out of Tavia’s linked arms. “Weren’t they walking behind us a minute ago?” Leila asked as she peered around the corner.
“Who knows, and who cares!” Tavia giggled as Nancy grinned.
The three exchanged knowing glances. “Partayyyy!!!” The three shouted as they entered Cloud 9.

“Why’d you pull us away?” Kenneth asked as he wriggled out of Chris’ grasp on his arm.
“Now we lost them.” Bosco said as he stepped out of the store, looking for the three girls.
“They wanted to go into the bar! That means they’ll go bonkers again, which means we’ll have to take care of them!” Chris announced as Kenneth rolled his eyes.
“And you think making us disappear will stop them from going?” Kenneth asked as the three walked down the street.
Chris didn’t respond.
“Stupid. We’d better go find them before they try any more monkey business.” Kenneth said as he sighed.
“Cloud 9.” Bosco mumbled as the three looked up at the name of the bar before entering.

“This is fun!” Tavia yelled over the loud music as she moved her body to the music.
“Pretty hot guys too!” Leila yelled into Nancy’s ear as Nancy grinned. When she caught the eye of a guy sitting at the bar counter, he raised his glass and winked at her.
She smiled and turned back to her friends.
“He’s a hot thing.” Tavia giggled as Nancy rolled her eyes.

“You find them?” Chris shouted over to Bosco, who shook his head.
Kenneth was peering at a couple who was sucking each other’s face like their life depended on it.
He sighed with relief as the guy moved to trail kisses down the girl’s neck. The girl opened her eyes and saw Kenneth ogling. She licked her lips and winked at Kenneth. He made a face and walked back to Bosco and Chris.
“I hope they weren’t abducted already.” Chris said as Bosco punched him lightly in the shoulder.
Chris laughed as he held his hands up in mock surrender. “Alright man, just joking!”
“Oh wait! I see them!” Kenneth, being the taller one tapped both Bosco and Chris as he pointed to the mass of moving bodies.
“They’re dancing?” Bosco shouted back as they neared the dance floor.
Kenneth nodded.
“We’ll just keep an eye on them at the bar counter. I don’t think they’ve drank any yet, they’re not jumping on any tables and trying to strip.” Chris said as he walked towards the bar counter.
“I think Nancy would’ve killed us if she found out that she did a strip tease the other day.” Kenneth joked as a dish of chips were placed in front of them.

“Hey, look what the cat dragged in.” Leila said as she nodded towards the bar counter.
Nancy merely gave them a glance as the three girls continued dancing to the music, fully enjoying their last night at Rome.
“Hey sexy, can I have your number?” A deep voice with a heavy accent whispered into Nancy’s ear as her eyes popped open, staring straight up into a set of enthralling greenish-grey eyes, a mesmerizing smile, and a tall straight nose on a model’s face.
Nancy smiled, showing her pearly whites. “Sure, after you consult my boyfriend over there, and my girlfriends over here.” Nancy nodded over to the guys, who were drinking and eating chips and over to Leila and Tavia, who were dancing with each other.
The man looked a bit surprised before nodding at Nancy, excusing himself. “Have a good night.”
“You too.” Nancy threw over her shoulder as Tavia and Leila bounced over.
“Aw, why’d you tell him off? He was cute!” Tavia giggled as he eyed the stranger’s rear.
Leila slung an arm over Nancy as she rolled her eyes. “I don’t feel like trying to make out what he’s trying to say under that heavy accent. It’s sexy, but annoying.” Nancy smiled as the music died down. The crowed booed, and the DJ smiled in apology. A slow song soon came on and most of the teens left the dance floor. Those with partners took over.
Nancy bounced over to the guys and tapped Bosco’s shoulder. “Hey you, let’s dance!” Without waiting for Bosco’s response, she started to drag him towards the dance floor.
“Did you drink that much? Your cheeks are bright red.” Nancy said as she placed her hands on Bosco’s broad shoulders.
He shook his head, looking a bit confused and surprised.
“Are you just going to stand there?” Nancy smiled as she grabbed his arms, which was handing limply by his side, guiding them to her hip.
“Don’t they look like such a cute couple?” Leila sighed as she watched Nancy and Bosco sway to the music, her chin in her hand.
“Bosco is so hot.” Tavia gushed as Kenneth whacked her head. “Hey, do not talk about how HOT Bosco is in front of us.”
Tavia scowled as she turned to look at Kenneth, a threatening look on her face. “I do believe I have every right to say what I want. You don’t control me, UGLY!”
“Oh yeah? I bet you want to…to…fly!” Kenneth stuttered as he tried to come up with a better comeback.
Tavia stared at Kenneth for a moment before screwing her face up in confusion. “Where the hell did that come from?”
Kenneth glanced at Chris, who shook his head.
“I-I don’t know.” Kenneth said as Tavia tilted her head, studying Kenneth.
“You guys seem fishy.” Leila concluded as she looked from Kenneth to Chris, back to Kenneth.
“Whatever.” Tavia waved it off as she stood up. “I want to dance.” Giving Kenneth a knowing glance, she started off towards the dance floor.
Leila caught up to Tavia as Chris and Kenneth sighed. “We’d better go before they decide to pick up random guys.”

Nancy giggled, looking up at Bosco.
“What are you laughing at?” Bosco asked, looking down into her laughing eyes.
“You.” Nancy answered as she interlaced her fingers at the nape of Bosco’s neck. His hands were resting comfortably on her hips after five minutes of just swaying to the music and making small talk.
It was more like Nancy talking the whole time.
He raised an eyebrow.
“You act like you’re scared of me. It’s cute, in a shy way.” Nancy complimented. He was glad the lights were dimmed, or she would have seen him blushing as red as a ripe tomato.
A couple from behind them steered clumsily into Nancy. She was bumped from behind, closing whatever gap they had between them.
“Sorry.” The man apologized to Bosco as he nodded.
“You okay?” He whispered into Nancy’s ear as she nodded.
“You don’t mind if I rest my head on your shoulder, right?” If any, Nancy wasn’t seeking for approval. The minute the other couple had bumped into her, she was already close enough to see the pores on Bosco’s face. Resting her head on his shoulder just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.
She felt him shake his head. Nancy was grinning by now, and a small smile appeared on Bosco’s handsome face. She felt his hands tighten around her.
Chris led Leila close to the two, she winked at Nancy, who winked back.

“You’re very goofy looking, you know that? You remind me of Goofy.” Tavia said accusingly as Kenneth narrowed his eyes to look down at her.
“You don’t exactly look like Cinderella either.” Kenneth retorted as Tavia smiled sweetly
“Oh yeah? Take that!” Tavia stomped on Kenneth’s foot as he winced. She wasn’t exactly wearing flats, and Tavia had no mercy when she tried to murder him.
“Oops, don’t mind my non-Cinderella movements.” Her sarcasm went a thousand miles as she kept the smile on her face. She looked up at Kenneth and raised her eyebrows at him, who was glaring down at her.
Too bad he didn’t hit girls, or she’d be in the ICU years back.

“Don’t look, but the girl sitting over there is eyeing your butt.” Leila said in a disgusted voice as Chris perked up, grinning as he tried to turn around.
“I said, don’t turn around.” Leila moved her hand to his cheek to stop him from turning around. He scowled and she smiled.
“Her face looks like a monkey’s butt. I said, don’t look.” Leila said through gritted teeth as Chris sighed.
“Don’t even try to steer me around so you can catch a glimpse of who she is.” Leila snarled as Chris suddenly yelped.
The girl sitting at the counter glared at Leila in disgust as Leila winked at the girl, giving Chris’ behind one last squeeze before returning her hand back to his shoulder.
“You molested me!” Chris accused as he looked down at her satisfied face.
“Oh please, you don’t have to admit that you liked that, because I know deep inside, you do.” Leila pointed a finger to Chris’ chest and smiled as she winked at the girl at the counter, who rolled her eyes at her.
“You’re lucky I didn’t scream rape.” Chris said as he rolled his eyes.
“Ooh, lucky me.” Leila said sarcastically as she grinned up at Chris.

“They make such great couples.” Nancy giggled as she eyed Tavia and Kenneth, and then Leila and Chris.
“Couples?” Bosco echoed as he followed Nancy’s eyesight.
Nancy nodded. “You men are clueless. Just like Chris and Kenneth.” Nancy sighed as Bosco blinked, looking confused.
“Tavia has had the biggest crush on Kenneth ever since I can remember. Leila is very fond of Chris…for some reason.” Nancy said the last part in amusement. The three of them were best friends since forever, she practically grew up with the guys, but she still didn’t find what they could attract girls with. Sure, they were good looking, but they were also pigs, klutzes, flirts, and the most clueless guys that can ever walk earth.
She met Leila and Tavia on the job, and the girls went gaga over them. They made it seem like they weren’t interested in them at all, which was why Chris and Kenneth were as clueless as men can get. But Nancy was pretty sure their affections were returned.
Bosco looked a bit amused as he looked at Kenneth, who was glaring down at Tavia as they danced past. Tavia was just looking very sweetly up at him, too sweetly, perhaps.
Chris was looking like the world was coming to an end. Leila was all teeth.
“I’m not THAT clueless.” Bosco said as he grinned down at Nancy, who laughed.
“You were before I told you.” Nancy stated as Bosco seemed to think for a while, his eyebrows scrunched up thoughtfully. Nancy smiled; he looked extremely cute like that.
“…well, maybe you’re right.” Bosco said after a while.
“I AM right.” Nancy corrected as Bosco chuckled.
“Now I understand why they say men can never win an argument against a female.” Bosco said as Nancy grinned.
“Enlighten me.”
“You never give us time to think about it twice before butting in with another statement.” Bosco said as Nancy looked at him for a good while before nodding.
“Riiiiiiggght.” Nancy tried not to laugh as she looked at the collar of Bosco’s white dress shirt.
“That didn’t make much sense, did it?” Bosco said, his hand leaving Nancy’s hip momentarily to scratch his head.
“Not really.” Nancy said as the two laughed.

“They seem to be enjoying themselves.” Tavia smiled as she caught a glimpse of Bosco and Nancy laughing heartily.
“You seem to be enjoying yourself too.” Kenneth muttered as his eyes widened.
“Oops! so sorry. I really don’t know why I can’t control my foot tonight.” Tavia smiled at Kenneth, who looked like he was in absolute pain. She sounded anything but sorry.

“You know, I think I’m going to tell Kenneth and Bosco that you molested me.” Chris teased, trying to get a reaction from Leila.
Leila only snorted. “I’ll bet you anything you won’t breath a word to anyone else.”
Chris raised an eyebrow.
“After all, you men have the biggest egos EVER.” Leila said in triumph as Chris’ face fell. She was so damn right, and he couldn’t argue with that.
