“What do you mean you can’t find her?!” he snapped, slamming his hands down onto the table. The woman jumped in surprised, biting deeply into her lip in intimidation.
“W-well sir, it seems that”-
“That what? You fucked it up, right?”
“Well, not really”-
“Not really?” Hero let out a condescending laugh them, narrowing his eyes at her. She suddenly really regretted coming in to the room without backup. “Not really? Don’t you even pull that bullshit with me! We installed a fucking TRACKING system. I don’t know what that means to you, but to me it says ‘hey, shouldn’t we be able to fucking find her?’!”
The woman winced. “You see sir, it isn’t that simple. See, we didn’t activate it in her cell. It’s activated in our station, but that won’t do us any good”-
“Then why. The. Fuck. Did. No one. Turn. It. On?” he snarled.
“With all due respect, sir, that was your part.” The words were out before she realized she said them. Her eyes widened as Hero’s face slowly turned to a blank. Her hands shook violently, and she dropped the file without really realizing it.
She expected him to explode, but instead, he let out a breath of air, cracked his neck, and hit his intercom. “Deloris?” he asked his secretary, not waiting for her reply before he continued, “Mrs. Cho seems to be lost. Please direct her to a place where everything is not her fault.”
He then removed his finger from the intercom button and gestured to the door. “Go.” It was an order. “Deloris will find you a nice place to sit.”
She nodded grimly and took off. Hero groaned and dropped down in spot, swiveling his large chair around to look out the window. The city was grim, and just below his office, he could see a woman, wearing nearly nothing, twitching from what was no doubt a bad trip. Hissing, Hero pulled the curtain closed, falling ack into his seat, to rub the ache in his forehead away.
The North was truly a disgusting place.
