As always I'd like to say that I do not own any of the MG characters.

All throughout dinner, Lin was plotting silently how to get even with Lei. She couldn’t understand him. After making her admit that she’d come back for him, he’d acted as though she hadn’t revealed something monumental. She supposed for him it wasn’t. But couldn’t he at least give her some semblance of pride and pretend that it mattered to him? His lousy thank you didn’t count!
Her opportunity came when the waiter had finished serving them their dessert. She considered the bowl of strawberries and cream right in front of her. She hadn’t ordered it. He did.
“Do you mind?” she asked him in a serious voice as she plucked one plump fruit off the bowl.
“Help yourself.” he answered, not really paying attention. He was busy pouring himself some tea.
Lin dipped the strawberry in the cream and when she was sure Lei was about to drink his tea, she called him, “Lei…” this time using a throaty voice.
He looked up and nearly scalded his tongue and throat when he saw her start to lick the cream off the fruit with her eyes closed. He’d always loved eating strawberries but surely it didn’t taste as delicious as she was making it out to be.
Lin sneaked a look at him through half-closed lids, trying to determine if he was affected in any way.
He had to clear his throat before he could answer, “Yes?”
Lin opened her eyes in shock. He didn’t sound bothered at all. “Drats!” she thought, “That didn’t work…” Maybe she should have sucked on the fruit instead? She eyed him cautiously before answering,
“I was going to ask if maybe we should have champagne instead of tea. Champagne goes really well with strawberries.”
Of course, she really didn’t drink champagne…but he didn’t know that. What was she supposed to do? She very well can’t admit that she only said his name so he would look at her, can she?
Lei signaled for the waiter and ordered champagne to accommodate her request. He then poured both of them a glass each before asking, “What shall we drink to?”
“To us?,” she answered boldly, daring him to contradict her.
“To us then.” He raised his glass and drank the champagne.
Lin had no choice but follow suit.

Lei looked at the sleeping woman on the passenger seat of his car. They were already in front of the Xu Mansion. Apparently, a glass of champagne was one glass too many for her. He supposed he could carry her inside the house and up to her room, but he didn’t think her brother would appreciate such a move from him. So now what?
He got out of the car and walked to her side and opened the door. He gently shook her awake but she didn’t react. She was really out of it. He was glad she’d still been able to walk out of the restaurant on her own two feet and only fell asleep as they were driving.
He argued with himself for a couple of minutes before he finally decided to call.

“Wei.” Yu Min answered his cell phone sleepily.
“You have to come.” The voice on the other end didn’t bother with pleasantries.
“I thought you said we were meeting tomorrow?” Yu Min recognized the voice.
“I’m not asking you to meet me at the office.”
“Where then?”

Lei finished the call and waited.
After about ten minutes, the front door of the mansion opened.
Lei quickly reached inside his car to pick Lin up. He was already straightening up with her in his arms when the man who’d come from inside the mansion went down the steps towards Lei’s car.
Without any words between them, the other man shut the door to Lei’s car before walking ahead towards the front door of the house. Lei followed as the other man led him up the stairs to Lin’s room.
Lei gently placed her on the bed as the other man quickly ordered a maid to help prepare Lin for bed.
Both men left her with the maid and closed the door behind them. They were downstairs in less than five minutes. Lei would have liked to leave immediately after but the other man’s countenance precluded that option. He sighed and asked, “I suppose you want to talk about my plan now instead of tomorrow?”
“You tell me.” Yu Min answered.
