She was walking toward his room, the room that he had spent for the past year in. She knew there was no hope for him, but yet she still believes that one of these days he would wake up from his sleep and gave her one of his famous smiles.
Once she got to his room, she walks over to him. She carefully wipes his face with her handkerchief. She sat down on the chair next to his bed and held his hand. “Hey, I’m here again, please wake up, it’s almost a year now, PLEASE wake up. Remember all those promises that you had made to me. You had promise to travel the world with me, you had promise that we would be married and have lots of kids living in our house with the little white picket fence away from city. You had promise to teach me how to ride a bike, how to swim, how to make a Crème Brule. Remember? You had promise that you will quit this job, please wake up! You still have to fulfill those promises that you make. RAYMOND LAM, I demand you to wake up this instant!” she said to him. But it was no use, he’s been a coma for a year now, she then put her head down onto his chest and silently cried.
She would visit him every day and repeat the promises that he had made to her. She would sat there and talk to him about all the fun times they has together as if he was awake and listening, sometimes she would forget about the time, until his nurse comes in and tell her that visiting hours is over. This time she was interrupted by her sister. “Myolie, visiting hours will be over soon, come let’s go home, you can come back tomorrow.” Maggie told her. Myolie just nodded and stood up. She leans in to kiss his cheeks and caress his face before exiting the room with her sister.
