Barbie instantaneously sat up and panicked when she saw the clock.
“Oh My God!. I’m gonna be late..Stupid, useless alarm clock!” She ran like a fool to the bathroom and began fixing herself. Half an hour later, she was rushing downstairs and grabbed the piece of croissant on the table and ran to the door.
“Shan Shan have your brunch first!” Xu Mama called out to her overreacting daughter.
“Can’t, Ma..Director’s gonna kill me..See you later..”
With that, she went off to her car where her driver was patiently waiting. The 45-year old man handed her an invitation card.
“Your Assistant told me to give this to you”
“Oh..Mr. Jin, Can you drive faster please?..” She requested as she was scanning the card.

She sighed. Parties, Models, Designers, Celebrities. She sighed again. Of course ZaiZai will be there too. She fumbled for her cellphone in her Prada Bag and pressed speed dial #3. It was her manager.
“Hello, Xin, Can I not go to the party? I have things to do and I want to rest a bit.” She tried cooing him
“I’m afraid not, Barbie. Chanel would surely be negotiating your endorsement for them if you attend..”
“But..”
“Sorry, I have an immediate appointment. Take Care, Ok..” He hanged up
(ZAIZAI’S CONDO)
It was so unbelievable that he ONLY had a photo shoot today. As he was enjoying this privilege to relax, memories of her flowed like an unending river occupying his whole being.
FLASHBACK:
Barbie: “Baby I”ve prepared fried porkchops for you..”
She smiled while preparing the food on his dining table. Wearing her cute apron, ZaiZai never felt so much more grateful in his entire life. Having someone like Barbie to be his other half was more than enough for him to say that he was the happiest man in the whole world.
He stood up from the couch and closed the distance between them.
“I love you so much..so much that I can’t even breathe without you..” He confessed while tightly hugging her from the back
“I love you too..And if you want I will cook for you forever..” Her heart wanting jump out of her chest
“Of Course I’d love that.” He smiled genuinely
END OF FLASHBACK
The constant ringing of the telephone broke his sweet reverie.
“Hello..This is ZaiZai.”
“Zai, You have to attend the Chanel Event this Saturday.”
“Oh..Okay..I’ll be there.”
He went back to the empty king-sized bed and shut his eyes closed.
“I guess forever is not as long as it used to be..” He silently whispered with voice full of bitterness and pain.
