Theme # 30 – Under the Sea
“Today’s later temperature will go up to 104…”
“My GOD!” JaeJoong puffed out his cheeks and threw his book down onto a table. He turned off the TV and growled. Damn what the hell was wrong with this place? It was so damn hot and the heat wave was intense. It felt so different from Korea.
“Joong ah…”
He looked up to see his baby hanging his head down low and slowly walking towards him. Walking towards Changmin, he opened his arms. “Com’ here.”
His dark chocolate brown eyes shined a little as he walks in to JaeJoong’s arms, snuggling next to the older man. He rests his head onto JaeJoong’s shoulder and lets out a small yawn.
“Where are all the others?” JaeJoong asked.
“Sushi is asleep while Yun appa and Chunky are trying to fix their karaoke.”
JaeJoong choked on air. “They want to karaoke?”
Changmin nodded in reply. He yawned once more, hiding it behind with his hand. “I came down to tell you that, for once…I am going to skip lunch and go to sleep with Sushi. It is too hot to even eat a nice strawberry chocolate pie.”
The older man laughed. He planted a kiss onto his dongseng’s forehead. “I will cook extra for you tonight then baby. Go catch up on some sleep. We will have a long day tomorrow.”
Changmin only nodded in reply and pulled away from his hyung’s arms. JaeJoong smiled as he watched his baby slowly made his way to his bedroom that he shared with Yoochun and Junsu.
Sighing, he looked to his left and reached up to grab a cup. He walked to their refrigerator and just as he was about to get himself some ice, a hand suddenly landed onto his shoulder, making him jump slightly and almost breaking the glass cup. He whipped his head around to see a pouting Yoochun. “AISH! WHAT?! Next time don’t sneak up on me like that!” He tapped his chest to calm his beating heart down and then looked back up at the man beside him. “Why are you pouting?”
“We can’t get the karaoke to start working!”
JaeJoong blinked a couple of times. “Why do you guys want to karaoke now, when the temperature outside is 104 degrees, and not when the temperature is in the mid 80’s?”
Yoochun pouted even more. “Because the song, Yunho hyung and I are singing won’t match that temperature! Besides, hyung ah, the special song we want to sing is good for the summer too!” Yoochun then started to tug at JaeJoong’s arm. “Common Jae hyung ah! Help! We want to karaoke!”
Rolling his eyes, JaeJoong pulled his arm away and crossed them over his chest. “Fine, but as soon as it is fixed, I only give you guys 20 minutes to sing okay?”
“ONLY 20 minutes?! Hyung ah! You are starting to sound like Yunho when he tells us to practice! T____T!” Yoochun raised up his right hand. “I promise I won’t tease Min ah’s eating and Su ah’s snoring habit anymore!”
“Right…you always do so in the end.” JaeJoong mumbled as Yoochun started to drag him to the room where the karaoke was. There inside was a sweating and frustrated Yunho. He scratched his head and flipped the small white karaoke box around. “How the hell…”
“Where are you stuck on, hun?”
Yunho looked up from the floor to see Chun back along with JaeJoong. “Ne Boo…why won’t the song play?”
JaeJoong gave out a soft sigh and crouched down next to Yunho. Flipping the karaoke around he noticed that there was a small button to his left hand. Sticking out a tongue from the corner of his mouth, he turned to Yunho, “Give me that microphone.”
Yunho did as to what he was told and gave JaeJoong handed the microphone to JaeJoong. After a few flips and examinations, JaeJoong sat back and threw him first a glare at Yunho before whacking him with his slipper.
“OW-What?!” Yunho got up and rubbed the stinging pains on his arms.
Yoochun jumped onto Yunho’s side and tilted his head. “Why did you hit hyung?”
Getting up, JaeJoong poked Yoochun’s nose before answering, “You two smart ones didn’t set this thing as CD.”
“Oh…really?! OOOOH! No wonder!” Yunho turned on the microphone and tilted his head. He pressed the “next” button to see if it worked. “YAY!” He shouted as their song, Summer Dream, started playing. Yoochun jumped along with Yunho and grabbed an extra microphone.
“You guys wanted to sing Summer Dream?”
“No…it is a very, very special song.”
Shaking his head, JaeJoong turned around and just as he was about to step out of the room when a familiar turn started. He whipped his head back and gawked at the two men in disbelief.
“The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else’s lake.
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake – take it Chun!”
“Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more are you looking for?!”
Wrapping an arm around Yoochun’s shoulder, Yunho jumps in to the chorus, singing along with Yoochun. “Under the sea!
Under the sea!
Darling it’s better,
Down where it’s wetter
Take it from me!
Up on the shore they work all day!
Out in the sun they slave away…
While we devotin’
Full time to floatin’
Under the sea!”
“You guys asked me to fix the karaoke and out of all the songs you two wanted to sing…you guys sing this?!”
“It is hot…” Yoochun muttered before continuing singing.
“That is why you take a cold shower and sit still instead of wasting electricity.”
“Nope, you are wrong!” Yunho smiles and reaches out to grab a hold of JaeJoong’s wrist. “That is why you cool yourself down by watching The Little Mermaid and singing this song, Boo.” He stopped and then sings along with Yoochun for a minute before turning his attention back to the man in front of him. “We will be singing ‘Part of Your World’ next.”
“Oh that is nice.” JaeJoong nodded before shaking his head to clear out his head. “Wait-WHAT?!” He stared up at DBSK’s leader, not to mention his boyfriend and placed a hand onto Yunho’s forehead. It was just the same temperature like his. Tilting his head, he wondered if it was the heat that had gotten to Yunho’s head.
Yunho chuckled and skipped back to Yoochun. “Boo~ we will come out when dinner is ready! I love you!”
“Yeah…” JaeJoong mumbled to himself. The heat had definitely gotten to Yunho’s head. He hurriedly closed the door behind him and walked back to the kitchen.

35 minutes later, while still cooking dinner…
“Great…” JaeJoong head desk onto the kitchen counter and let out a whining growl. Both the lyrics and tune of Under Sea was now stuck in his head.
