“TOP??!?!?!?!?!!?” Jane screamed.
“Finally. I’ve been waiting forever for you to notice.” TOP rolled his eyes.
She ran into his arms, feeling the warmth of his chest.
Jane kissed him, but surprisingly he didn’t pull away.
After a long kiss, Jane pulled back. TOP was only a friend. Not a boyfriend.
She couldn’t kiss him just because she met him.
TOP looked at her strangely and Jane quickly switched the topic.
“You should have told me when I bumped into you!!!” Jane said as she twirled a strand of her hair.
“We wanted to surprise you.” TOP told Jane, forming a smile on his face.
“Wait… ‘We’? Who’s the other guy???” Jane wondered who it was.
Could it be Jiyong?
Jane ran to the 4 doors in the hallway.
TOP didn’t follow because he wanted the surprise to sink into her.
She looked at the first door, which had all these caps hanging on it.
Has he come a player? Because Jane was would kill Jiyong if he did become one.
Jane turned the crystallized knob and opened the door.
There was a boy in there that was sitting on his chair, looking at the mirror and styling his Mohawk.
‘That’s not Jiyong. For sure.’ Jane thought.
The guy with the Mohawk turned his chair around to look at Jane.
His eyebrows went up in question.
He shrugged and turned back around to listen to his iPod touch.
She closed the door and moved onto the next one.
Jane looked at the next-door and there were all these Doraemon stickers on it.
‘Hmm… Maybe Jiyong has become addicted with cartoon characters?’ Jane thought, still twirling her hair.
She turned the blue knob and opened it, and there was a reddish-brown haired guy with his small eyes glued to a small, yellow television set.
This guy was lying on his bed so he turned his head to see who opened the door.
He smiled a smile that Jane would never forget from this point of her life.
He was so darn cute!
He turned back to his cartoon, and Jane shut the door.
She opened the next door; not paying attention what was on the door.
‘Maybe Jiyong’s not here…’ Jane thought in dismay.
As the door opened, her eyes searched the small room.
There were two boys on a blue bed.
It was Jiyong.
Jiyong was on his bed with another boy playing Monopoly.
He was wearing a big t-shirt with khaki’s that looked unusually hot on him.
“JIYONG?!?!” Jane almost screamed but kept her volume to a minimum.
Jiyong turned around and nodded.
He smiled and said, “Yep, I’m right here, Jane.”
Jane ran to his bed and hugged him.
Jane was trying hard not to knock the monopoly game over, but failed.
She fell back on the game and knocked everything down.
The chance cards, the little red hotels, the green houses, everything was spilled onto the floor.
Now, Jane was looking up at a young looking boy with dark eye bags.
He was wearing a white shirt with sweat pants.
But he had a smile on his face.
Jane got off of the game immediately, and said, “Sorry. I’m really sorry. I was just so excited that I found Jiyong!”
The boy with the eye bags smiled brightly and said, “THANK YOU for messing up this freaking game! Hyung was outsmarting me in Monopoly and he won’t let me end the game.”
Jane looked at Jiyong who was smiling, “Hey I’m still the king of Monopoly.”
She looked at the boy with the eye bags and whispered, “Hey, I can beat him in Monopoly. I’m probably the only person who can.”
The boy’s eyes widened and said, “Teach me your wisdom.” He bowed with a laugh and said, “What was your name?’
“My name’s Jane. Jane Yuh. What about you?”
“My name is Seungri. Everyone calls me Maknae.”
Jane looked at him. “Well, since everyone calls you Maknae, I’m going to call you Ri-Ri.”
Seungri thought Jane was really pretty. She had hair that wasn’t too short, or wasn’t too long. He liked her. As a friend.
“You’re my noona right?” Seungri asked Jane.
“Yepp, I think so. Right Jiyong?” Jane asked, turning her head to look at Jiyong.
Jiyong nodded and said, “Maknae, you should listen to your noona now!”
Seungri laughed and said, “Noona, are you hungry? I’m starving. Let’s go eat!”
Jane nodded and it was as if they knew each other since they were born.
Ri-Ri was just so cute! He was the youngest of the group, so there was no doubt that he had to be the cutest.
Jane finished cleaning up the messy Monopoly game and turned for the door.
Jiyong and Seungri also stood up to follow.
Seungri knocked on the other two doors to signal them to come out.
The three met TOP outside on the couch, watching TV.
Soon after, Taeyang and Daesung came out.
Daesung glanced at Jane staring at him.
‘Woah, That red haired boy is so cute!!! He looks like a teddy-bear!’ Jane thought.
When Jane caught herself looking at the red-haired boy too much, she blushed and grabbed a strand of her hair to play with it.
Daesung was embarrassed for some reason and looked down at his shoes.
“So…. Your name is Jane?” Daesung asked hesitantly.
Jane smiled awkwardly and nodded, twirling her hair too much that it might turn into a knot.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Taeyang. I don’t do greetings, but since you’re a complete stranger and these two hyungs seem to know you…”
He stopped and looked at Jiyong and TOP who nodded back at him.
“I think that you would be a… great addition… to our… family?” Taeyang stuttered because TOP was intently looking at him to say the right words.
“Ermmm, thank you?” Jane replied, glancing at TOP who was still staring at Taeyang.
TOP looked at Taeyang with a satisfied smile.
“And I’m Daesung.” He scratched the back of his head because he was nervous.
He started to kick the dust off the floor. “I think… you’re really pretty, Jane…”
Jane blushed into a tomato-like shade.
‘Oh crap. I can’t help it!!! He’s so cute!!! But, he wouldn’t be a guy I would date.’ Jane thought helplessly.
“Thanks, Daesung. I think you’re really cute. Like a teddy-bear!” Jane confessed.
Daesung laughed and replied, “Thanks. I get that a lot…”
He was sort of depressed because he had feelings for her even though he only talked to Jane for hardly a minute.
Jane froze. ‘Oh damn. Did I say the wrong thing? I didn’t want to hurt his feelings.’
“Sorry… I didn’t mean it.” Jane murmured apologetically.
“Oh no, it’s perfectly fine.” Daesung said with regret of saying that he got it a lot.
Taeyang quickly changed the subject so the mood between everyone wouldn’t be awkward. “So, where should we go eat dinner? Jane? Any suggestions?”
“Erm… I’ll probably like anything you guys want to eat. I just can’t eat sushi.” Jane said, playing with her fingers.
“Well, then let’s just go out to eat some classic Mexican food!!” Seungri shouted with excitement.
Jane smiled and nodded and put her arm around Seungri.
“Ri-Ri, we’re going to be the best of friends.” Jane told the Maknae.
“I know we are, noona!!” Seungri replied.
Jiyong coughed a little too loud, signaling attention from Jane.
“Oh Jiyong. I love you too.” Jane said, rolling her eyes, seeing that the boy who had told her endless jokes had still not changed, even through riches and fame.
He smiled pushing Seungri and Jane towards the door.
“Hyung!! Your making Jane noona lose her balance! Don’t do that!” Maknae cried out, afraid that his beloved new noona will get hurt.
“Gosh, Maknae. Didn’t know you loved her so much.” Jiyong smiled, revealing that his cute crooked tooth was no more. It was straight again.
Jane missed that feature and sighed, still being supported by Seungri’s arm.
She glanced at TOP, who was being unusually silent. He was usually very loud and funny, but he wasn’t doing anything hilarious. He was even funnier than Jiyong!
Had she made the wrong move because she kissed him?
Taeyang interrupted her intense thoughts.
“Hey Jane. Are your parents okay with us taking you out to dinner?”
Jane looked down. “Yeah. I live alone, so it’s okay. My parents sort of… passed away.”
Taeyang immediately apologized. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, actually. I don’t have a curfew and I don’t need to eat at specific times, I don’t need to get punished for hanging out with friends too late.” Jane went on and on about the things that happen with her parents gone.
But truthfully, she missed her parents.
They both died in a dreadful car accident, and her father had left enough tuition to last her till the end of college.
TOP quickly changed the topic, aware that it had been silent for too long, and that he too, had been silent for too long.
“Hey Jane. Do you still have that memory book I gave you when you left us??” TOP mentioned.
Jane looked down for the millionth time. “Nope. It got lost while we moved a dozen times…”
‘Oh no, did I just bring up another heartbreaking topic???’ TOP thought, looking at Jiyong for help to cheer up the mood.
Responding to his hyung’s looks, Jiyong started to talk. “Hey! Since our boss told us to rest for 3 days, we should go to the club, go to the karaoke room, and have fun!!”
Jane looked up for the first time in a while and said, “Really??”
She glimmered in hope because these 5 boys were willing to brighten her summer vacation.
“Well duh, what else would we do with our long lost best friend??” Jiyong confessed, slapping her gently in the back.
“I guess. But I’m not like, intruding into your performing schedules, right?” Jane asked curiously.
“Nope! Big Bang is resting at the moment, only me and little Taeyang here are working our butts off.” Jiyong said, punching Taeyang in the arm playfully.
He continued. “And even us two are being given a break for our endless performances.”
Jane smiled and said, “It’s okay for the rest of you right?”
Seungri answered her. “Of course noona!!! You’re always welcome to come and play.”
Jane giggled and said, “Hey, is that the restaurant we’re going to?” She pointed to a rather fancy and American restaurant, rather than a Mexican one.
But as soon as Seungri opened the doors, sure enough, it was a Mexican restaurant.
Everything was festive, and neatly designed, adding a few “Olleh!!’s into their music.
The host, who had a colorful uniform, noticed right away when Big Bang came through the door.
He bowed and motioned them to follow him upstairs.
When Jane and the group walked upstairs, Jane was astonished.
There was no one up there except the host and the 6 guests; there was only a table with 6 chairs around it.
She had never been to a private dinner before, so she was utterly amazed at the setting of it.
Jane sat down at a random chair at the table.
Seungri immediately sat down in the chair next to her.
Daesung sat on the other side of Jane.
TOP saw that his two dongsengs stole the magical seats next to Jane, but wasn’t sitting across from her better, so he can look at her beautiful face again?
He sat directly across Jane.
Jane fiddled with the cloth as the waitress handed out the menus to the boys and to Jane.
She took one and slowly opened the menu.
There were so many delicious foods to pick from!! She couldn’t look too greedy, so she picked a chicken taco with a side of sour cream. It was the least expensive on that menu.
Jane peeked over the top of her menu and saw TOP looking straight at her.
He didn’t look mad, or happy.
Jane smiled at him, and TOP looked down at his own menu again.
‘Does she think I’m weird now??’ TOP thought to himself, just gazing at the Mexican menu.
‘Oh well. I guess he’s just getting used to the presence of his long lost best friends. Haha.’ Jane thought, trying not to get on a bad side with TOP.
After the orders went through, their food had come out.
Everyone immediately started to dig into their plates, except Jane.
After a while of thinking, Seungri poked his noona, abruptly interrupting her thoughts. “Noona, why aren’t you eating?”
“Oh Ri-Ri. I’m just thinking about things…” Jane said to her lovable new dongseng.
“Well you better eat, cause we’re not taking you to a karaoke room till you eat your whole taco.” Jiyong told her with concern.
In an instant, Jane had her hands on her small taco, devouring it little by little.
Jiyong looked at TOP, who gave him a look of praise.
After everyone was finished, Jane started to take out some change in her back pocket.
“I have just enough for everyone!” Jane whisper-shouted with joy.
“Uhm, Jane? WE’RE PAYING FOR YOU.” Taeyang said with curiosity.
“Huh?” Jane asked. “Wasn’t I supposed to pay for you guys?”
“Jane. Who are the celebrities at the table at the moment?” Daesung asked.
She looked at TOP absentmindedly.
“HAHA! TOP hyung has to pay!!” Seungri said with happiness.
“It’s okay maknae. As long as I’m paying for Jane.” TOP said with sincerity.
“Can’t I choose who gets to pay?” Jane said, twirling her hair.
“Yah! Make her choose! Hyung’s low on money this month.” Jiyong said to protect his hyung.
“Fine Jiyong, I choose you for being so humble.” Jane declared, while Jiyong sulked to the cash register.
After Jiyong finished paying, the 6 walked out of the restaurant with a satisfied stomach.
“Luxury Noraebang” Daesung said as he smiled. “We come here whenever we celebrate.”
“And we see who’s better at singing.” Jiyong sneered.
Jane looked at Jiyong and said, “Hmm… Let’s have a battle. We get into teams and the team who gets the lowest score has to… do something idiotic.”
“You’re on” Seungri said to his noona.
When everyone entered the karaoke room, Taeyang immediately started to pair up.
“JIYONG! Hurry up and be my partner!!” Taeyang shouted, while other people were hecticly running and looking for a partner.
“Seungri! Daesung Hyung wants us to be a duo pair!” Daesung shouted in joy, fake-clutching his heart.
Jane looked around and saw that TOP was the only one that was free, so she grabbed his hand.
TOP looked shocked when Jane touched his hand.
“So, what song should we sing?” Jane asked, flipping through the book of songs.
TOP didn’t hear her, since the karaoke room was really loud from all the music coming from other rooms.
He looked down where they were sitting, and he saw that Jane’s hand was like 2 centimeters away.
He wanted to clutch that hand and call it his, claiming Jane as his girlfriend.
TOP thought that Jane already had a crush on Jiyong, who kept saving every awkward silence they had.
Jane had become more beautiful than she was in fifth grade.
And you weren’t even supposed to be pretty in the fifth grade unless you were a celeb’s daughter.
TOP kept staring at Jane, noticing her beauty.
start flashback**
“Jane! Let’s go on the swings!” Jiyong said, pulling Jane’s hand towards the playground.
Jane looked at Jiyong with a scrunched up face and said, “But I want to go explore the hill with Tabi Oppa again!”
She crossed her arms and looked at Jiyong the 5th grader.
“Do you like TOP or me better, huh?” Jiyong said, crossing his arms.
Jane shyly pointed to TOP, who was pretending not to listen.
“Fine! Since you like him so much, why don’t you go marry him!” Jiyong cried out, and picked up a pebble and threw it at her.
She started to cry and ran off.
TOP followed her sneakily and they ended up on the exploring hill.
“I don’t think Jiyong meant that. I think he was just mad cause you didn’t want to go on the swings.” TOP whispered, trying to back up his best buddy.
He noticed a cut that wasn’t bleeding, but was polluted with dirt.
TOP licked his thumb and wiped the debris off of her knee.
“Thanks Oppa.” Jane said, wiping her tears.
“Ahh, it’s okay. Anything for you dongsengg.” TOP said with a sweet smile.
It was silent, and the two were watching everyone play handball in the courts.
Jane suddenly had an idea in her head.
“Hey! Look at that!” Jane cried out, making TOP turn his head.
As soon as he did, Jane pecked him right on the lips, and ran off giggling.
TOP blushed and then smiled.
end of flashback**
“Hello? TOP?” Jane said, poking his stomach.
“Oh gawd, you still have a squishy belly.” Jane teases, forming a big smile on her face.
TOP blushed and diverted his attention from her to the songbook.
“Well you can just sing a song, and I’ll try to freestyle some rap into it.” TOP suggested.
Jane nodded, smiling at the brilliant idea.
“Hmm… What about, ‘Only Look At Me’ by the one and only Taeyang?” Jane offered.
TOP nodded and said, “After the second chorus, I’ll rap for 30 seconds, and you can finish off the song.”
After hearing TOP’s response, Jane stood up. “Are you guys ready?”
Everyone stood up and was determined to beat the other opponents.
“Taeyang and Jiyong! You guys go first!” Jane shouted happily, excited of what the song would be.
They sang ‘Korean Dream’ from Jiyong’s album.
“That’s no fair hyung! You had like, 10 hours worth of practicing that song in the recording studio!!” Seungri cried out, with jealousy raging in him.
Jiyong stuck his tongue out and waved his hand, welcoming Seungri and Daesung to the small karaoke platform.
They sang the epic Beatles song, “Let it be”
Jane happily clapped and waited for her turn.
“Now, it is the moment that you’ve all been waiting for.” Seungri announced dramatically. “Noona and Hyung’s PERFORMANCE!!!”
Daesung, Taeyang, and Jiyong screamed barbarically and quieted down for the memorable performance.
The music began, and Jane started to sing.
Unlike the other performances, it was dead silent, as everyone was trying to sink into her singing.
TOP rapped freestyle for 30 seconds as planned, and Jane started squealing in her mind. ‘He’s so darn cute!’
After the rap, Jane sang passionately, and when the song ended, it was still quiet.
Jane looked at everyone’s face, and it felt like it was a horror movie.
Everyone’s face looked like a mummy or a zombie.
Seungri finally broke the silence. “Noona… You’re better… than… Park. Bom. Noona.”
With the truth out of his mouth, Jane replied back. “Who’s Park Bom?”
“She’s like, the best female singer I know!” Seungri responded, hugging his new noona in his arms.
TOP added to the praise. “It’s not really surprising that you can sing flawlessly.”
Jane looked at TOP and he looked down. She smiled.
Taeyang broke out of his zombie stage and said, “It’s getting late. Let’s go home.”
Jane and the group were walking on the street when she said, “Okay, I’m going to call a taxi, and I’ll go home!” She took out her phone from her pocket.
Jiyong snatched it away. “No, don’t you dare go out into a taxi at night. It’s dangerous and you never know when he’s going to lock the door on you.”
“Oh Jiyong. Still overprotective, I see…” Jane teased him.
“Jane Noona, can you stay at our apartment today?” Seungri asked, holding his now favorite noona’s hand.
“Er… Only if everyone agrees.” Jane stuttered.
Seungri went up to everyone and asked.
He delivered the answer to Jane. “Hyungs say yes Jane!”
Jane smiled and said, “Well I guess. Okay. I’ll sleep over with you guys.”
“YAY! A sleepover!!” Seungri shouted in joy.
*Rustle*
Caroline Lee was walking along the streets, thinking of which song to sing for her upcoming audition for the new girl group for YG entertainment.
She had been a trainee for 4 years, but she still had to prepare and audition to apply for the group.
“YAY! A sleepover!” Someone shouted not far away from Caroline.
She peered over the wall and saw six people walking towards the Big Bang apartment.
Caroline gasped.
It was Big Bang and a girl. But who was the girl?
Caroline was usually nicknamed CL, because of her initials, Caroline Lee.
She had a teeny crush on Seungri because he was stubborn, and she liked stubborn guys.
Caroline looked closely. Seungri was hand-to-hand with that girl.
Who was that girl?
She saw G-dragon slap the back of Seungri, and mumbling something to him for being so loud.
Was Seungri dating that mysterious girl?
Caroline decided to keep the secret to herself, and ask the members in a few days when she took her audition.
back to the scene*
The 6 people arrived at the apartment and started to head for the shower.
“Let Jane noona shower first, hyung. Don’t be greedy.” Taeyang scolded his older hyung.
“Fine, fine.” Jiyong hissed at him.
Jane snickered and jumped into the bathroom.
The five boys were outside, on the couch, talking.
“I think TOP hyung has created feelings for Jane” Seungri said, raising his eyebrows up and down rapidly.
“Shut up maknae and mind your own business.” TOP glared at his youngest dongseng, signaling to never bring the topic up again.
Jiyong watched his hyung’s reaction, not sure if he really does like Jane.
When they head Jane come out of the bathroom, she had nothing on except a towel rapped around her body.
“Do you guys have any spare clothes?” Jane asked, embarrassed of her body.
TOP and Seungri immediately stood up. “I do!”
TOP walked over to Jane and pulled her hand towards his room.
“Hmph.” Seungri lost and sat back down on the couch, wating to shower next.
TOP pulled her in and closed the door.
He opened his closet and looked carefully at his clothes.
“I’ve found the one!” TOP exclaimed, reaching his hand into a drawer inside the closet.
He took out a rather large v-neck with a soft, pastel, and blue-ish color.
“Thanks hun.” Jane said, taking the shirt.
“Hun?” TOP looked surprised.
“Uh…” Jane stuttered, biting her nail.
“Oh, and why’d you kiss me when I told you who I was?” TOP said, raising an eyebrow.
He continued. “Did you do the same for Jiyong?”
Jane blushed and shook her head, and TOP noticed.
“So, you did that because you felt like doing that?” TOP asked carefully, watching her tug a strand of her wet, hair.
Jane nodded slowly, afraid of a punishment to her response from him.
TOP spoke.
“Then I guess I should return the favor.”
TOP pulled her into his arms and kissed her.
Jane was surprised and the towel fell down.
The door clicked open.
