“Haneul-yah, this is for your own good. Studying in a very good university will help you learn many things that you can apply in the hacienda.” Mr, Han explained.
Haneul was nearly crying as she begged her father more.
She really doesn’t want to go to the US to study.
She doesn’t want to go.
“We’ll be leaving together. Your sister can manage the hacienda. And Junsu will be there too to replace you while you’re gone. It’s just 2 years.”
Her heart broke as she heard how long she will be gone.
Two years.
Two years without her garden,
Without her sister,
Without the hacienda,
Without Junsu.
Just the thought of it makes her sad.
“I really can’t go Dad. Please let me stay here.” She begged again.
“Why don’t you want to go? Tell me a good reason why I should let you stay here?” His father asked her seriously now.
Haneul couldn’t answer her father straight.
What would she tell him?
That she doesn’t want to go because of the hacienda, her sister, her garden and Junsu?
It is a stupid answer, especially the last one.
“Please dad…..”
“I’m doing this for your own good. So just follow what I say.”
That was it and her father left her in her room.
She was left alone crying.
She doesn’t wanna go.
She’s happy in the hacienda.
There’s no need to go somewhere else just to study.
Finally dinner time came.
Noticing that Haneul wasn’t around still, Michi decided to go to her sister’s room and to invite her to dinner.
“No, I’m not hungry Unni.” Haneul answered her as she called her.
“But you haven’t eaten anything. Come on, let’s eat.”
“Really, I don’t feel like eating. I wanna sleep. I’m tired Unni.”
Michi felt something wrong about her sister but she decided to ask her later.
She thinks that Haneul isn’t on the mood to talk about it.
“Ok. I’ll just bring you some dinner later. Sleep well.”
She kissed Haneul’s cheek and headed outside the door.
She went back to the dining area where the men where waiting.
“Where is she?” Jaejoong asked her.
“She said she wanna sleep and she’s not hungry.” She answered and took her seat.
Junsu was listening to Michi and felt worried to about Haneul.
He knew there’s something wrong with her.
“I asked her to go with me to the US so that she can proceed with her studies.”
Mr. Han suddenly spoke.
Junsu almost choked as he heard it.
That’s the reason why she doesn’t wanna come out to eat.
“But why Dad? She already finished her studies.” Michi asked her father.
“I wanted her to learn more things that she can use for the hacienda. It’s for her own good.”
“I don’t think she’s happy about it.” Michi said as she shook her head in dismay.
“It’s just two years. It’s not a very long time.” His father reasoned out.
Hearing this, Junsu couldn’t concentrate eating.
He wanted to talk to Haneul.
He doesn’t know why, but he felt the need to see her now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was past 10 in the evening and the rain was pouring hard.
Haneul dried her tears again.
“Seems like the heavens knows what I feel now.”
She then rushed to a small hut purposely built in her garden.
She doesn’t want to go home.
She wanted to be alone in the place she loved most.
There she forgets her sadness.
After 30 minutes, the rain seems unceasingly pouring and making her wetter and wetter by the second.
The coldness brushed her skin but she didn’t care.

Michi quickly rushed to Junsu’s room to ask help.
She can’t find Haneul all over the house. She must’ve gone outside.
“I can’t find her anywhere!” She cried to Junsu.
“Did you call her?”
“She won’t pick up.”
Junsu quickly took his jacket and rushed to get his horse.
‘Where are you Haneul! It’s god damn raining yet you’re not home.’ He cursed as he felt so worried where she is.
‘If you have problems, we can talk about it. Just don’t act like a kid and run.’ He sighed.
“Yeah right. As if she likes to talk with me.”
He then rushed to find Haneul.
He doesn’t care if he’ll get wet and get sick.
Finding Haneul is what’s important now.
Michi just looked at Junsu with his horse fading away.
She was so worried that her sister is out late in the evening that she knew was not feeling well.
“What’s wrong?”
Michi heard someone spoke behind her.
And hearing that voice made her shiver.
She gazed to her back and saw Jaejoong’s worried expression.
“Haneul… she isn’t anywhere to be found. I’m so worried.” She said hiding her cracking voice.
“What? This late? Where could she be?” Jaejoong said as he went closer to her holding both her shoulders.
“I… I don’t know. What if something bad will happen to her? The hacienda at night still is a not so safe place. There could be snakes or whatever insects there. I don’t want her to get hurt.” She cried now.
Jaejoong hushed her and hugged her tightly.
“Let’s go tell your Dad about this.” Jaejoong suggested.
“No. He’ll just blame himself. I don’t want him to worry.” She protested.
‘Ok… So let’s just wait till Junsu returns.” He said.
Michi then felt Jaejoong’s embrace tighten.
She knew it’s wrong to tolerate him. but just for now, when she felt so worried, she needs someone to comfort her.
It was almost past 30 minutes yet there’s no Junsu coming back.
Michi is now freaking out.
“This isn’t right. I have to do something.”
She said as she stood up and grabbed some raincoat from the cabinet.
“Where are you going?” Jaejoong asked who just came from the kitchen holding two cups of coffee.
“I’ll go look for her.”
“Wait!”
“What?”
“I’ll go with you.”
“Just stay here.”
“No! I don’t want you going out there alone.”
“Why the hell do you care?”
“Are you leaving me here worrying about you? I’ll come with you no matter what you say.”
Jaejoong took another raincoat too and wore it.
She was looking at Jaejoong’s serious expression and her heart couldn’t be any happier.
‘Shut up Michi. Don’t you fall for him again!’ she reminded herself.
They then went to get their horses and sped off to search for her missing sister.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Junsu has only one place in mind where to find Haneul.
He made his horse run faster to get to that place.
After few minutes, Junsu reached Haneul’s garden.
From afar he could clearly see a body of a woman standing in a hut.
His heart jumped in joy as he knew she was safe.
“Haneul!”
He left his horse under a tree and ran towards the girl he’s been looking for.
“Ju..Junsuah….” Haneul gasped as she saw him running towards her.
In a flash, Junsu grabbed her and pulled her closer in an embrace.
She felt so strange being hugged by him.
It was a very happy feeling.
Her heart is beating so fast.
She loved how his strong arms wrapped around her small cold body.
He made her feel so warm.
“Why the hell did you do that?” Junsu asked as he pushed her away a bit to see her face.
“You made us all worried. Your sister was crying so hard there.”
“You… you were worried about me?”
“Yes! Of course! Why did you go out this late?”
“I just want to be alone.”
Junsu saw the sadness in her eyes and held her close again.
This is the first time that she saw her so sad.
And it kills him seeing her like that.
“C’mon. let’s go home.”
“No. I don’t want to, yet.”
“But it’s cold here. You might get sick. Besides, your sister is waiting for you there.”
“No… I’m staying. If you want to, just go home and tell her I’m fine.”
Junsu looked at her in the eyes and lifted her chin.
“I won’t go home unless you will.”
“You can go. Really I’m fine.”
“No.” Junsu sighed.
“Ok fine. I’ll take you somewhere else. Not here. You’re freezing can’t you see?”
Junsu quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her to where he left his horse.
She helped her get on and soon he followed.
She was seated in front while Junsu stayed behind her.
“Where … where are we going?” She asked him.
“At my place.” Junsu answered.
“Place? What place?”
“You’ll know.”
