EXT. YING-DE UNIVERSITY - MAIN ROAD - DAY

A girl with braided pigtails and a helmet on drives down the campus main road.

INT. YING-DE UNIVERSITY – IN FRONT OF THE LOCKERS

Dao Ming Si stares at the lockers in the hallyway.

SHAN CAI (O.S.)
Dao Ming Si!

Dao Ming Si turned around and saw Shan Cai taking quick big steps towards him.

DAO MING SI
Hey, you lazy slowpoke. What took you so long to get here?

SHAN CAI
I came here as soon as I could. I even used the coffee house’s delivery scooter to get here. Why are we back in Ying-De anyway?

DAO MING SI
Remember the last time you saw me standing here?

SHAN CAI
Umm...it was after I registered for my last-term in Ying-de. I found you here making trouble.

DAO MING SI
Hey, I told you I wasn’t. Do you remember what was last thing you told me then?

SHAN CAI
What I told you last? Ha? Not really. All I recall is we went around Ying-de afterwards. Why are we doing this?

Dao Ming Si led her to her former locker, #150.

SHAN CAI
Dao Ming Si, what are you doing?!

DAO MING SI
Don’t be irritating. Just open your locker.

SHAN CAI
Why should I open it? Besides, it’s not my locker anymore, some other student might be using it.

DAO MING SI
Just open it, ok?

Shan Cai looked at Ah Si with a bored irritated look and opened the locker. She looked at what’s inside, and was stunned. She then took a quarter turn to face Dao Ming Si.

SHAN CAI
Dao Ming Si…

SHAN CAI (V.O.)
You must miss handing out red tags, don’t you?

Shan Cai and Dao Ming Si stood face to face. The space in between them showed the opened locker and revealed a red tag. But instead of “You’ll Be Dead – F4” on it, what written was: “Marry Me – Shan Cai.” (“Marry Me” replaces “You’ll Be Dead” and Shan Cai – in Chinese characters- replaces “F4”)

DAO MING SI
When I was standing here back then, I remembered that our beginnings in this hallway.

Shan Cai recalled the scene where she and Li Zhen was carrying a basket of soccer balls and F4 was approaching.

BACK TO SCENE

DAO MING SI
This is also where I thought of our future. When we think about it, we were able to accomplish our plans. You have graduated. I got a job and a house: President of Dao Ming Corp plus I get to keep the mansion, thank you very much. Only one more thing left….

SHAN CAI
What one more thing?

Dao Ming Si took Shan Cai by her arm and led her to locker #174. Ah Si told her to open it.

SHAN CAI
(excited)
A puppy!

Shan Cai took the puppy and carried it.

SHAN CAI
It’s so cute!!

DAO MING SI
We said we’d get a dog, right?

Shan Cai nodded.

SHAN CAI
What’s its name?

DAO MING SI
Promise you won’t laugh?

SHAN CAI
Promise.

DAO MING SI
Shan Cai, meet Pighead.

SHAN CAI
Pighead?!

DAO MING SI
(nods)
Yeah, Pighead. Pig, for short.

SHAN CAI
You named our dog “Pig”?

DAO MING SI
Since you like to call me pighead so much, I gave that name to our dog. That way, you can never call me pighead again. That’s our dog’s name now.

SHAN CAI
Lucky I’m going to name our kids, not you. And who said I won’t call you pighead? I still will. And I’d also call you idiot, moron, pineapplehead, stupid--

DAO MING SI
Hey, you still haven’t given me your answer.

SHAN CAI
What answer?

Dao Ming Si returned in front of locker #150. He removed the red tag and showed it to her. Shan Cai lowered her eyes and smiled. She handed Pig to Dao Ming Si and took the red tag from him. She got a marker from her bag and wrote something on the blank side of the red tag.

Afterwards, she walked up to Dao Ming Si and pinned the red tag on his forehead, just like she did during her declaration of war. She started walking away fast, left Dao Ming Si momentarily stunned.

DAO MING SI
Hey! Shan Cai!

Dao Ming Si put Pig on the floor and removed the red tag from his forehead. He read what Shan Cai wrote. His eyes widen. He dropped the red tag and ran after Shan Cai.

The red tag slowly reached the ground, with the side where Shan Cai wrote on wa faced up. Pig ran to the red tag and started jumping around it.

INSERT - red tag, with the word “YES!” written and a pig’s face drawn on it by Shan Cai.

Dao Ming Si catched up with Shan Cai and immediately embraced her. He lifted her off the ground and spinned themselves. Pig ran up to them and barked.

INT. DAO MING MANSION – LIVING ROOM – DAY

Shan Cai poured dog biscuits into Pig’s bowl. The puppy began to eat greedily and Shan Cai pat it. A dog biscuit dropped off the bowl. Shan Cai picked it up and showed it to Dao Ming Si.

SHAN CAI
Dao Ming Si, This dog biscuit resembles the shape of your face.

DAO MING SI
Did I ask for your opinion?

Shan Cai giggled and sat on the floor across him, with the small coffee table between them. They each have a pen and piece paper to work on their guest list.

SHAN CAI
Aside from F3 and their partners, who else are we going to ask to come at our wedding?

DAO MING SI
Umm, I invited Ah Lun, Da Xing and Yi Lin, my friends from the breakfast café that I worked in. How about you?

SHAN CAI
Aside from Qing He and Mimi, there’s Ah Mei and Ah De. I’m still trying to get my parents to cut their guest list by half. Those two, they are more excited than I am.

DAO MING SI
Of course they are. They are going to have me, now world-class Dao Ming Si, as their son-in-law.

Shan Cai gave him the eye.

SHAN CAI
Umm, Dao Ming Si. I also invited Li Zhen.

DAO MING SI
Li Zhen?!

SHAN CAI
(nods)
Yeah. She came by our coffee house the other day. She read about our engagement from the papers and came over to congratulate me. I ended up inviting her.

DAO MING SI
Why would you do that? She caused you harm, remember?

SHAN CAI
Right, but it was because of a misunderstanding. She thought I humiliated her first. Besides, it’s all in the past. And Li Zhen was the only female good friend I had in Ying-de. So please, it’s ok, right?

DAO MING SI
Whatever. Then I’m inviting our Ying De professor and dean too. I…um…I ran into Sha-Ge yesterday. H-He’s in town with-–

SHAN CAI
Ye Sha. I know. I also met her on way home from the coffee shop. We went bowling.

A moment of uncomfortable silence occured between them.

DAO MING SI
Should we--?

SHAN CAI
I-I already had, actually.

DAO MING SI
What?!

SHAN CAI
I may have invited Ye Sha to the wedding.

DAO MING SI
Stupid woman, why did you do that?!

SHAN CAI
What should I have done?!

DAO MING SI
Um, let me see, not invite her?

SHAN CAI
I can’t do that. I’m not mean like you. She knew we were getting married, it was impolite not to ask her.

DAO MING SI
Well you shouldn’t have told her about the wedding.

SHAN CAI
I didn’t! She read it too from the papers. Besides, you must have told Sha-Ge, right?

Dao Ming Si’s facial expression indicated he did.

SHAN CAI
We can’t invite him and not invite Ye Sha.

DAO MING SI
But wouldn’t it be weird? I mean, we had history with her in our relationship.

SHAN CAI
So with Lei, ans he’s invited.

DAO MING SI
Lei is our friend!

SHAN CAI
And so is Ye Sha. Promise, you’re not going to regret this.

DAO MING SI
Yes I will. This is all Xi Yuan’s fault. I told her not to run our engagement on the papers.

SHAN CAI
Don’t blame your sister-in-law. It’s not her fault, you know that. We did hire her as our wedding planner.

Dao Ming Si rolled his eyes.

DAO MING SI
Then, I guess you must know, Xiao Zi might also be at our wedding.

SHAN CAI
Xiao Zi?!

DAO MING SI
Her parents, being family friends and business associates, are invited. So…

SHAN CAI
(deep breath)
This is going to be a fun wedding, isn’t it?

DAO MING SI
(sarcastic)
Oh yeah.

SHAN CAI
Have you sent an invitation to your parents?

DAO MING SI
Yeah…but I don’t think they are coming. I guess that’s for the best.

SHAN CAI
But you do want them to come.

Dao Ming Si leaned on the sofa and recalled his conversation with his mom.

(INT. DAO MING NY MANSION

DAO MING FENG
I’m not going to accept that poor girl to be my daughter-in-law. Wild grass will always be wild grass!

DAO MING SI
I will marry Shan Cai, whether you accept her or not. Ma, I love you. But I love Shan Cai too. I would really want you to be at our wedding. If not for yourself, do it for me. I already got Dad’s blessings, and I would like to have yours too. Please, Ma?)

SHAN CAI
If your mom wants me to sign a pre-nup or something, I’d be willing to, If that’s what will put her at ease.

DAO MING SI
No. you’re not signing anything other than our marriage certificate. She doesn’t have to want you, she just has to accept that I do.
