On days like this, when the weather was hot and humid and when everyone was in a sluggish mood, the shop was usually void of customers. Thus, Licen was left on her own to mend the shop, her boss busying himself with his other more important business ventures. Last Friday had been such a day, when she had accidentally spilled coffee onto a male customer.
“Welcome!” She greeted cheerfully as a man of tall built entered the shop. Placing the mop against the white-washed wall, she hurriedly wiped both hands on her apron.
“Would you like something to drink sir?” Licen moved briskly to the counter to grab the plastic-wrapped menu before heading towards the booth where the man had seated himself.
“Oh, it s’ you!” Licen s’ eyes widened slightly in recognition. The man was the fierce guy she had upset so terribly on Friday.
“Yeah, it s’ me.” The man growled unpleasantly. “Surprised?”
Licen was sure she could detect the heavy sarcasm piled on top of his question mark.
“No. Not really.” Licen forced herself to look into the derisory eyes of the man and answer him in the most light-hearted and casual way she could muster up. “LnJ has always been a provider of delicious beverages and light meals.”
The guy laughed, though sardonically.
“Delicious beverages and light meals.” He repeated her previous sentence in jest, mocking her leeringly.
Licen flushed but she said nothing.
“Well, let me see the menu.” The guy continued, now reaching for the hard piece of cardboard Licen was holding in her hand. “And what will this lovely waitress recommend?”
Licen was certain that she was bright red by now. Struggling furiously to hold back her tears, she bit her lips and tried desperately to keep her composure.
“The Salmon and Rice set is good.”
“I‘ll get that then.” The man said, returning the menu to her.
“Any drinks for you?” Licen asked, accepting the menu. Hopefully, this guy wasn’t going to try any thing funny or else she wasn’t so sure if she could keep back the floodgates threatening to open.
“Coffee. No milk, no sugar. And I will like it to be in a cup and not over my clothes.” The guy s’ lips twisted into a smile.
Licen nodded numbly, turning away quickly so that the guy would not be able to take pleasure in the hurt that he had just intentionally inflicted on her.

Jay read through the report very carefully, word for word, his brows deepening with every sentence.
“You‘re sure that these things are correct?” Jay asked finally, turning around to look at the clean shaven and lanky guy standing behind him.
ZhiXiang cleared his throat. “Yes sir. Your men spared no expenses in obtaining accurate information about this person.”
“That s’ good.” Jay nodded in approval. “But, would it be possible for her to come up with her own version of her background?”
ZhiXiang pondered over the question for a moment.
“I should suppose that it is possible. But the level of difficulty that is involved in pulling off such a thing is extremely high, not to mention, close to impossible.”
Jay nodded, his face unusually streaked with creases of worry.
“This means that we are not dealing with any ordinary spy. We absolutely cannot tread on this area rashly. For all we know, she might be a spy send by that son of a bitch to infiltrate our little business.”
“Mmm…” ZhiXiang gave thought to Jay s’ last sentence. “So what shall we do?”
“Can you arrange for a gun by tomorrow morning? I want a silencer together with it.” Jay asked.
“You mean…?” ZhiXiang let his sentence trailed off, though without any uncertainty. There was no need to finish his question. The cold and ruthless look on Jay s’ face was enough to give even the most imbecile of idiots a definite answer.
“Yes.” Jay s’ eyes hardened. “Tomorrow, we‘ll see. If she s’ innocent, she gets off. But the odds are, she s’ not. And that s’ when the gun comes into play.”
“You want a .90 caliber?”
“Yes. And make sure that it is untraceable.” Jay added grimly.
ZhiXiang nodded his head at his boss’ instructions and left the office. There was the instrument of execution to prepare and he needed to work out the details surrounding the possible death of one woman in the office tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Jay leaned back onto the black leather chair and folded his fingers together.
