"Tav, i told you i dont like Bosco."
"Oh come on, dont try to deny. Dont i know you long enough to know whether you like him anot?"
"Really? Aiya, i will tell you when the time is ripe."
"Whatever, i just wan to tell you if he asks you out, you cannot accept."
"Why?"
"A girl must have some dignity. Let him ask two or more times before you agree or else guys will take you for granted."
"Are you sure? What if he is turned off by this?"
"If you are talking about Bosco, i am sure he wont. He is quite persistent."
"Oh, are you sure that works?"
"Confirm."
End of flashback
Bernice looked at Bosco, he looked disappointed. Have i hurt him? What if he decided to give up?
"Ermm, on second tots, perhaps i can do the essay tomorrow. I feel like watching Golden Compass."
Bosco's face brightened up, "Oh, yea sure, i will go get the tickets now."
Bernice smiled and thought to herself, sometimes it is best to not listen to Tav and her woman rights stuff.
"That movie was so great. I love Eva Green in there."
"Yeah, she is just so pretty."
"What? I beg your pardon?"
"What i meant by she is the prettiest in the show."
"I tot nicole kidman is prettier."
They were walking home when the weather turned cold suddenly.
Bosco took off his jacket and put it on Bernice.
"thanks." Bernice smiled sweetly at Bosco. "That was really very sweet of you."
Bosco put his hands in his pocket and grined, "It is okay. i am a guy what."
"Haha, Bos, you really crack me up. So gentlemanly Bosco, would you want to have supper?"
"At the usual roadside stall? Let's go!"
"Tav, i am so happy yesterday."
"Why? did you went out with Bosco? didn't i tell you to preserve the dignity of woman?"
"sometimes, i think it is better that i exercise my own judgement rather than listening to your woman rights essay."
"Oh thanks so much Bernice. So how was yesterday?"
"He was so sweet to me. We had dinner, movie, shopping and supper. he sent me home after that. We had a great time."
Tavia cant help gave a wide grin to Bernice. She was truly happy for Bernice and Bosco. They have found their happiness at last.
"so are you guys together yet?"
"Hmmm, no. He haven't ask me. should i..."
"No! As much as i support woman rights in society, guys should take the initiative in this."
"Oh well. i guess you are right. It is the norm that guys should confess his love and not the other way round."
"Let nature take its own course."
"Ray"
"Tav, your lessons ended?"
"Yep, i am going home now. See you outside phoenix hotel at 7.45pm."
"Sure. Remember what you promised me."
"Yes Mr lam, you are such a nag."
It is already 7pm and Ray was on his way to Phoenix Hotel when his phone rang.
"Ray?"
"Ron? why?"
"I am detained at the police station now. I need your help to bail me out."
"what?"
"Ron, what happened?" Ray speeded to the police station within 15 minutes.
"I was at this alley when the police suddenly arrested me for stealing."
"How can it be? Have you guys checked it out?"
"Please wait for a while." the police replied nonchalently.
Ray gave a disapproving look to the policeman.
"Are you okay ron?"
"Yep, it is just that my bad record made matters worse."
" dont worry bud, i will get you out of this."
The policeman came back 10 minutes later.
"We have been informed that it is a misunderstanding. Your friend is innocent. Just help him to settle the procedure and he can go."
After 15 minutes later, they finally cleared the procedure and went out of the police station.
"Thanks Ray, i am innocent but ppl just dont believe."
"I believe you and that's what matter."
"Are you free now? wanna go out for dinner? my treat."
Ray suddenly looked at his watch and realised he is going to be late.
"sorry, i have some urgent things to attend to. I'll call you tonight."
With that, ray got on his car and speeded to Hotel Phoenix.
It is already 7.45. why is he not here yet? And my handphone is empty batt now. I cant even call him.
Tav wandered outside of the hotel, peering out for Ray.
Ray on the other hand, kept trying to get thru Tav's line but to no avail.
Tav,pls remember what you promised me. Ray was so anxious.
"Hi Ms Yeung"
"Mr Loo, ermm, hi"
"Why not go in since you are here?"
"Hmmm, i am waiting for another friend of mine."
"dont worry about your friend, he can come in later. I am in a hurry, lets go now."
Tav kept looking back and hope that Ray has arrived but is disappointed.
"Okay, let's go."
"come in, take a seat Ms Yeung."
"Shall we start the interview since Mr Loo is busy."
"Why are you so anxious? Let's take our own sweet time."
Tavia sensed something is amissed and sat further from him.
"I dont wish to take up too much of your time."
Richard Loo put his hand over her shoulders and Tavia flunged it off.
"Mr Loo, pls have some respect for yourself and me."
"dont act innocent with me. you should have expected that."
With that, he pounded on tavia and attempt to rape her.
Ray finally reached the hotel. Damn traffic jam. If not for the jam, he would have reached earlier.
Wait a minute, where is Tavia? dont tell me she went in?
Without a second tot, he dashed in the hotel and to rose function room.
He heard Tavia's screaming and dashed in the function room.
Seeing Richard loo on Tavia, he immediately hauled him up and punched him.
"Bastard. How dare you touch her!"
Tav was crying and ran out of the function room and hotel.
Ray gave him one final punch and chased after Tav.
"Tav!"
He finally caught up with her and hold her by her shoulders.
Seeing her with her sleeve torn, he immediately took off his jacket and placed it over her.
"I am sorry. I should have listened to you." Tav cried.
"hush. it is okay. It is my fault. I shouldn't be late."
with that, Ray pulled tav in a tight embrace and pat her head.
"It's okay. Everything is alright now. I am here, i wont let anything happen to you."
Although Tav was crying, but she heard every word Ray said.
She pulled him tighter to her and just lie in his embrace.
They finally pulled each other apart and Ray used his hands and wiped Tav's tears.
"Now you know i am right. So you must listen to me the next time."
Tavia nodded obediently.
Ray smiled and sent her home.
At her doorstep, Tav felt so much better.
"thanks for resucing me today. Thanks for everything. I hope you dont mention this to anybody."
"No problem. Go and have a good night sleep. Forget about this incident."
Tavia gave him back his jacket and smiled at him.
"Call me when you get home and be careful on your way back."
"Yes Madam! haha, dont worry about the interview, i will settle it."
With that, Ray took a step towards Tav and kissed her forehead.
"good night."
Tavia was blushing but pretended not to be.
"good night."
Haha, fungyi are so sweet. I have been basking in happiness these few days because of Fungyi holding hands. I hope this chapter is sweet for you guys. Cherish these cause the next few chapters might be a little melo. btw, the golden compass is due to show in cinema on dec. i haven't watch it yet although i am really anticipating it. oh yes, i know the rape scene sucks but i am not adept in writing that. lol.
