*********Christmas Party Night**********

Matty looked in the mirror for the hundredth time, he swayed his body to each side making sure every piece was in it’s place. He wore a sharp silver suit with a light silver tie and white shirt. Sammie was also at his place changing in the next room. When he realized she was taking too long, he cried out “Sammie, are you ready??!”

“NO!!” he heard her reply.

“I want to see you in the dress I chose!!” he called back. He finally tore himself away from the mirror and walked over to the other room “Sammie!!” he pounded on the door.

“COMING!!!” she belted out so loud that her voice cracked. When she opened the door, she also cleared her throat “Why do you make me yell?” she asked with a sigh.

He crossed his arms and nodded approvingly “I knew it…it fits like a glove!!” he clapped his hands giddily. Sammie looked down at her Olive green diamond sparkled dress. It was a strapless dress the curved around her upper body and flowed softly with the same matching color lace bottom. Diamonds were splashed at the foot of the dress giving her an aura of royalty. His eyes traveled upwards to her hair where it was spun up in a French twist, her bangs were swept to the side of her forehead and then he hit her face and his expression changed “You look like a bull dog. Stop wrinkling your face!!” he scolded as he reached out a squeezed it outward.

She pushed his hand away with a laugh “Stop that.” Again Sammie looked at her dress “I look like an 18 year old.”

Matty tightened his lips into a smile “Better than a 30 year old.”

Sammie tilted her head and placed a hand on her hip “One more comment like that and I’m calling it off.” She pointed at him threateningly.

Matty rolled his eyes “Whatever.” He threw a hand up and gave her a pose “You didn’t compliment me yet.”

She raised a brow “Put a halo over your head and we can put you on top of the Christmas tree.”

He covered his mouth suddenly, containing a sob “That…that is so sweet!!!” he blurted out as he reached out to hug her “You called me an angel.”

When he pulled away, she gave him the strangest look “O…Kay…” she shrugged. He took it how he wanted to take it, obviously she was being sarcastic. Sammie was not knowledgeable with the makeup but she managed to use a little more than usual. Plus Matty insisted on buying her the matching olive green eye make up to ‘bring out her eyes’…eventhough her eyes were brown. “Let’s go.” She gave her shoulders a slump and dragged her feet out to the living room.

“Wait!!” Matty shrieked causing Sammie to jump “You’re missing something.” He checked her out while walking around her in circles, then he snapped his finger “I got it.” He took her hand and pulled her into the room.

“What are you doing?” she said tiredly.

When they were inside the room, he turned to her and make a circular shape with his finger, indicating for her to turn the other way. Sammie let out a sigh and turned her body so she wouldn’t see what he was doing. He took out a jewelry box from under his bed and took out a silver chain necklace. Matty smiled as he returned it to it’s place and walked over to Sammie. He took the chain with both hands and put it around her neck. Sammie didn’t expect it as she looked up following his hands to the necklace. The charm was an intricate design of a basket of flowers. Except that diamonds took place of the flowers. She gave a little gasp when he took her over to the mirror “Don’t tell anyone, but I bought this years ago because it looked so adorable in the glass case at this jewelry shop.”

“Wow….” That was all she could say. She turned to him with a smile so wide that she could feel her cheeks hurting “I…” she was completely speechless.

Matty giggled with his hand covering his mouth “What? You want to thank me? I’m taking it back you know.”

Sammie expected it as she nodded “I know.” She felt special just knowing that he would let her borrow it for the night “Come on.” She reached down and took his hand naturally as they walked out with each other.

They were planning to take Matty’s car, but to their surprise when they walked downstairs, they saw a black limo fit for 6 “Mr. Fong? Ms. Tsang?” The driver asked with his head bowed.

“Yes…how did you know?” Sammie asked.

“Mr. Ethan Chung asked me to come pick you two up. I went to Ms. Tsang’s home but you weren’t there. Mr. Chung advised that you most likely would be with Mr. Fong.” The driver explained.

Matty smiled crookedly “What a sweetheart.” He quickly got into the car not waiting for Sammie to enter first. She laughed at his excitement and climbed in with the help of the driver. The two sat in the limo feeling like royalty.

“He’s gone all out this year.” Sammie commented.

“Hmph! Well it’s about time. All those years of dedication…I expected this to happen a long time ago.” Matty snickered.

“Have you no shame?” Sammie asked incredulously.

He waved his hand nonchalantly as they pulled out into the street “Shame is just a way to say ‘boring’. And I’m definitely NOT boring.” She laughed with her head shaking and then turning to look outside at the night life. People were staring at the car as if they were important people, never in her life did she feel so special “You look beautiful tonight.” Matty said solemnly while staring at her, she had no idea that he was until she turned to him. Sammie smiled shyly and suddenly he let out an exasperated sigh “Thank you, Matty. You look beautiful too!” he crossed his arms and legs and pouted.

Sammie laughed at his outburst “Don’t you know it’s crazy to refer yourself in the third person? Anyways, guys look handsome, not beautiful.” She corrected.

“But I’m not a guy!” he insisted.

“Honey, you’ve got guy equipment…” she eyed his manliness and then back at his face “And you’ve got a guy’s built…you’re a guy. Just because you grow out your hair and act like you’ve got 100 women in you doesn’t make you a woman.” She was resentless.

Matty dropped his jaw in shock “Sammie! What is with you? If you behave like that again, I’ll be forced to take you home.”

Her face brightened like a million lights “Really??” she got excited for the first time “So if I talk dirty, you’d turn this car right back?”

He narrowed his eyes and tightened his lips “You sneaky little…” When his eyes moved outside the window, it caught a little flower shop being closed “Johnny! Stop the car!!”

“Sir, my name is Ah Biu.” The driver said calmly.

“Whatever!” Matty blurted as the car came to an abrupt halt. He turned to Sammie’s confused face “I’ll be right back.” He rushed out the door and over to the lady closing the shop with Sammie watched on. After a few minutes, he came back with a corsage in his hand “Since you said you never got to go to Prom, this is for you.” He handed it to her hastily.

She smiled slowly and felt warm tears fill her eyes, she was touched by his thoughtfulness. When she looked up, he was smiling at her but when he noticed she was beginning to cry, he crawled over to the seat next to her and placed an arm around her shoulders “Thank you…” she could barely whisper it out.

“Aww, you don’t have to thank me. What are girlfriends for?” he pulled her away to look at her “Stop crying, you’re smearing your makeup. I don’t have my emergency bag with me, I can’t salvage your pretty eyes.” He shook his head teasingly.

Sammie managed to gulp down the tears and nodded “Okay. I can control myself.” She looked down at the white orchid and tiny silver ribbons hung from the band. She couldn’t bare to take it out of it’s box but Matty did. He opened it and put it over her wrist.

“Perfect.” He commented with a proud grin.

She looked at him intensely until her smile faded “Matty…why aren’t you straight?”

He covered his mouth delicately “Uh oh…someone’s getting their period.”

Sammie tilted her head “I’m serious.” She let out a sigh and dodged his eyes “I don’t know, sometimes I have this strange feeling like…you’re not as gay as you appear to be.”

Matty laughed “Of course not! I’m actually more gay. What’s worse than a homosexual man? A GAY homosexual man!!” he laughed at his own joke.

“You know what I’m trying to say.” Sammie said sternly.

Pretending to cover his yawn as he looked away “Why does this subject bother you so much? So what if I’m straight and acting gay? Does it matter?”

She had to bite her tongue from blurting out ‘Yes! Because I like you.’ Sammie smiled shortly and nodded “I guess you’re right.” She sighed “Maybe Lauren was right, maybe I’m just looking for a guy to like.”

“Oh Poo!” he shushed “That She-Witch doesn’t know anything about men. Just because she happened to snatch a fine ass of a man, doesn’t make her the expert. Don’t listen to her, she’ll just pull you down with her.” He said wisely.

Sammie smiled as she crossed her arms “So you think Ethan has a fine ass?”

“Of course, who doesn’t?!” he exclaimed in shock.

Their ride was shorter than expected when it slowed to a stop and the driver got out to open the door for them. Again Matty couldn’t wait as he practically jumped out of the car and Sammie was helped by Ah Biu “Mr. Ethan will be waiting for you inside.” He advised.

Matty turned to the man with a smile “Thanks Johnny.”

Sammie shook her head at the driver, it was useless to correct Matty when he made up his mind “Thank you.” She nodded to him as he bowed and returned to park the car. Seeing how at awe he was at the decorated mansion, she couldn’t help but smile “Come on, let’s get you a napkin before you start drooling.”

He turned to her looking like a kid who just opened a Christmas gift and realizing it was what he always wanted “Shoot, if I knew he was this loaded, I would have tried harder then maybe ‘Lauren’ wouldn’t have gotten to the good meat.” He put out his palm “Ready to attract some good looking men?”

“You’re talking about yourself or me?” Sammie giggled when his grin grew wider. They were greeted by the butler as he opened the double grand doors and placed a hand out for them to walk. After taking the short stairwell leading down into the living room, Sammie noticed all eyes were on them “Are you sure we’re at the right place? I don’t see anyone we know.”

Matty flicked an eyebrow at a handsome stranger on his left then right “Who cares, I see a few I want to get to know.” His flirtatiousness was out of control.

Her worries disappeared when she spotted Lauren and Ethan greeting new guests. Ethan turned to the two and gave a double take on Sammie. He waved for Lauren in a sky blue spaghetti strap dress to follow, he walked over wearing a classy dark gray tuxedo and a dark silver bow “Sammie, you look gorgeous!” he reached out and took her hands as he spun her around.

“My turn! My turn!!” Matty exclaimed as he easily bumped Sammie out of the way and took over Ethan’s hands as he spun himself around “I’m beautiful, I know…you don’t have to say it.” He gushed while Ethan laughed.

Lauren crossed her arms “No one WANTS to say it.”

His evil glare snapped at her “Don’t worry, I won’t EVER compliment you…unless you trip and fall on your face then maybe I’ll clap.”

“Guys….” Sammie started as she turned to Ethan “You take the girl and I’ll take the homo.” She joked.

He smiled “I think they’re just faking it. They probably really get along but don’t want to ruin the fun by admitting it.”

That got their attention, Matty and Lauren turned to him with a disgusted face “Ewww!” they both said at the same time.

“Oh no…here we go again.” Sammie muttered under her breath.

The two exchanged looks and crossed their arms “Please!!” again saying the same thing.

Lauren dropped her arms and turned to him with a pointed finger “Look, you pre-madonna! Stop copying what I have to say.” She warned.

Matty chuckled “It’s obvious YOU were copying me.”

She was about to take off her earings and beat him into oblivion when Ethan quickly put his hands on her shoulders and pushed her away “Okay…break time.” He announced.

Even though she was being led away, she stole a glance at Matty and stuck out her tongue. He wrinkled his nose bent his butt to face her, took his hand to his lips and smacked his butt with it. Sammie let out a sigh “Mature…very mature.” She shook her head and walked the opposite direction.
