The following day, Ethan allowed Sammie to take the morning off so she could go to the doctors. She called him early that morning “Is it something serious you have?” Ethan asked sincerely.

Sammie laughed while she limped into the cab “No, just a sprained ankle. I’ll see you tonight. I definitely cannot miss tonight’s show. You’ll be very proud of Matty.”

Ethan laughed “I can’t wait. I’ve gotta go cover the bar, I’ll see you this afternoon. Take care.”

“Thanks.” Sammie hung up her cell phone and told the cab driver where to go. When she left the doctors, her ankle was completely wrapped up and he even gave her a crutch. Apparently, she sprained it really bad and by walking on it all day yesterday only made it worse. The ice only helped the swelling.

When she got back to the lounge, she had finally gotten use to the crutch. She opened the door and saw the place was busy as usual. Matty was singing when he looked up and saw her. She smiled at him but he gave a different reaction as he let out a scream “Ahhh!!” at the same time he searched the room for Lauren and Ethan as he pointed to Sammie.

Sammie was startled by his reaction as he abandoned the stage and ran over to her “What is it?” she asked with wide eyes.

“Oh my gosh…” Lauren sighed “What happened to you? Why are you in a crutch?”

Matty covered his mouth “It’s all my fault, if I didn’t call you out, this wouldn’t have happened. Are you crippled now?” he asked worriedly.

Sammie shook her head and was ready to explain when Ethan jumped in “No…I have to take you to a doctor.” He began supporting her arm while the other two clowns acted as though she was going into labor.

“I’m not having a baby! You don’t have to support me…” she shook her head over and over “It’s just a sprained ankle.” Sammie sighed.

Suddenly the three let go of her “Sheesh! Why didn’t you say it sooner!” they said simultaneously.

Sammie looked at them oddly “You guys are strange.” She used her crutch as she got closer to the bar “Matty, you better get back on stage before someone throws you a tomato. Lauren that man is waiting for his check since I came in the door. Ethan…” she turned to face him “act like an owner.” She didn’t know what else to tell him.

At around 8pm that night, the entire lounge was filled with people. Most of which are gay but with the help of Matty’s ingenious ideas, they were acting straight. He had told everyone that night the lounge was paying a tribute to straight people. Therefore they all had to act straight, at first everyone was beginning to boo and hiss. But Matty quickly added that there would be a prize for the winner. That seemed to win the crowd over as they all agreed.

On Matty’s break, he walked over to Sammie while she fixed drinks “Can I get a Gin on the rocks?” he used his manly voice and it almost made Sammie laugh out loud “How you doin’?”

This time she couldn’t help it as she began laughing uncontrollably “Stop it…why do you have to use that voice?” she shook her head to pour him the drink.

Matty smiled “Cause it makes you laugh.” He looked around and leaned in closer to Sammie “I am sooo itching tell that man over there that his socks don’t match.” He pointed to a man in a huge group, he had one obvious white sock and the other was black “Can you go tell him, please?? It’s driving me crazy!” he begged.

Sammie laughed “It doesn’t bother me.” She shrugged carelessly. But it surely was a pet peve to Matty when people did not match their clothes.

Suddenly Lauren crept up on them “Oh my gosh…I think he’s here.” She started brushing her hair with her fingers “How do I look?”

“Truthfully?” Matty asked and earned a smack in the arm. He dropped his jaw and rubbed his arm.

Sammie smiled “You look fine. But he already has a girlfriend.” She said while untying her apron. Together the three walked over to Ethan who was waving them over. Matty suddenly stopped as he turned to Sammie facing his back to Sean and Ethan and lipped out the words “Oh my God”. Sammie had to hide her smile as they walked up the them.

Ethan nodded “Speak of the devil…Sean, I’d like to introduce to you the other two people that make this lounge possible. You already met Sammie.”

Sean nodded but he shook her hand again “Always a pleasure.” He turned her back hand up and kissed it gently.

“This is Lauren. My newest addition to the team, she runs this place when I’m gone.” Ethan explained as he pointed to her.

Lauren was all smiles as they shook hands, Sean too kissed the back of her hand “Nice to meet you.”

It was the first time Sammie’s seen her so tongue tied “N….Nice…to meet you.” She managed to stumble out the words.

“And finally, this handsome gentleman is Matthew. He’s our finest singer here.” Ethan introduced.

Matty knew what he had to do as he reached out and shook Sean’s hand harshly “Nice to meet you, Sir.”

Sean laughed “Just call me Sean. There are no need for politeness.” He nodded “This place is wonderfully decorated.” He observed carefully “So, when do I get to hear this amazing voice?”

Matty glanced at his watch “In about 5 minutes.”

“Great.” He nodded and began walking with Ethan to the bar. Matty took the chance as he looked at Sean’s butt and lipped out the words “Oh my God” again. Only Sammie saw it again as she stifled a giggle. Matty only followed behind Sean and Lauren had no idea why Sammie looked like she was ready to burst into giggles.

“You’re not telling me something.” Lauren whispered while Ethan explained everything to Sean and Matty continued to follow from behind.

Sammie grinned widely “Trust me, you DON’T want to know.”

Suddenly, Matty interrupted the two men “Excuse me, it’s my cue.” He jogged over to the stage and leaped onto it. He took a hold of the microphone and announced to everyone “Hi everyone, it’s that time again. Tonight we’ll do a special song. I’m going to pick a person in the audience and let them chose the song.” He smiled as he began stepping down the stage and looking around at the raised hands. Matty turned to where he knew Sean was “You, Sir…what is your name?”

Sean smiled but he played along “Sean.”

“Sean…that’s a very nice name by the way. Well, don’t be shy, come over here.” Matty waved while Sean liked the attention and it showed it on his face. “Where are you from?”

“Kowloon.” Sean answered while nodded to the audience. Everyone was smiling and looked really friend yet he had no idea why.

Lauren and Sammie exchanged glances “What a ham.” Lauren commented.

“Tell me, do you have a girlfriend, Sean?” Matty began.

Sean nodded slowly “Yes, unfortunately I do.” His comment made the room fill up with laughter.

Matty shook his head “Yes, yes…such a shame it is. A man should be single because once you let that woman take over, it’s really downhill from there.” The audience agreed with Matty. He turned to Sean “What song would you like to hear?”

Sean was thoughtful as he finally looked up “Don’t love you anymore.”

“Great choice!” Matty complimented “Maestro…” he nodded to the pianist and then back at Sammie “Can you get this gentleman a drink?”

She nodded, playing along while Sean walked back to the group “You have to excuse him, he’s quite the attention seeker.”

Sean smiled “Actually, I thought it was very creative. Reminds me of a comedy bar.” When Matty began his song all eyes turned to him. After a few chords, Sean turned back “He is good…such a shame he’s gay.” He began walking to the bar leaving the other three flabbergasted.

“How…how…” Ethan looked confused as he pointed from Matty to Sean. He was sure that Matty covered it up well.

Sean turned to them “My best friend is gay. I can tell.” He smiled and crossed his arm at Ethan “I’m actually flattered that you would go through that much trouble just to make me feel comfortable. But to be honest, I would like it much more if the atmosphere was not that tense.”

“But what gave it away?” Lauren was still curious.

“First of all, most of the audience members are male. And they looked at me…well, like you were looking at me.” He pointed out to Lauren who began blushing profusely “Second, I could see Matthew checking out my ass from the bar mirror.” He pointed to the bar wall where a mirror was recently inserted for Sammie to see the customers if she were to have her back turned.

Ethan was embarrassed while Sammie was impressed “Great analytical eyes you have.” She laughed and turned to Matty “He knows!”

Matty looked shocked but he was happy to see the show was finished, he ended the song and brought his hands out to the audience “And the winner of the game tonight is…ME!!!” the guys laughed loudly but clapped their hands. Matty gave a little curtsy pretending to hold a skirt up at the hems “Thank you. I’m gonna take a short break so you guys enjoy yourself…but not too much.” He gave them a wink and skipped over to the other four “So, who spilled the beans?” he crossed his arms with his fingers carefully placed over his biceps “Let me guess, Lauren?” he laughed as if he said something funny.

Lauren rolled her eyes “Actually it was you, your gayness was like an aura. There’s no way in hell you could ever act straight enough.”

Sean was actually amused by the two eventhough Ethan looked at them sternly “Well, I must admit, this was the funnest day I’ve had in years. Thank you so much!” he shook hands with Ethan.

“So…how about our deal?” Ethan had to try asking eventhough he guessed Sean would not want to be partners.

Sean pulled his hand away and smiled “We just shook on it.” Sammie was beaming while Ethan again looked shock. She was truly happy for her friend. He turned to Sammie with a grin “I assume she’s not your girlfriend?”

“Wow, you’re good.” Matty widened his eyes and pushed at Sean’s chest “Oooh, someone works out!” he gushed.

“Down tiger.” Lauren warned “You’re right.” She said to Sean “But don’t you think it would be cute if they dated?”

Sammie threw her friend daggers with her eyes “Wooh, catfight.” Matty announced.

Sean laughed “Actually, I thought Sammie would look great with Matthew.” Lauren gave him a disgusted face and he added “Too bad he’s gay.” He gave his watch a glance “I would love to stay and watch the show but I have a plane to catch. It was a pleasure meeting you all. Ethan I’ll contact you to finalize our plans.”

He shook hands with everyone and when he got to Matty, he brought out a hand but Matty ignored it as he smiled shyly “Oh if you insist.” He reached out and hugged Sean causing the girls to laugh while Ethan looked embarrassed.

Sean pulled back looking a bit surprised but not offended “I’ve got to tell Johnny about this.” He mumbled to himself before leaving.

Ethan let out a sigh of relief “Well gang, we did it. It’s our first expanded chain. Don’t worry, when I become rich and famous one day, I won’t ever forget you guys.” They all laughed at his big dream.
