The following day started off like any other normal day. Yet it wasn’t the same for Sammie, her feelings for Matty grew by the minute. She had a tough time trying to dodge his stares and smiles. She didn’t know how to deal with her feelings for her gay friend. The only conclusion she had was to ignore him. That night she was working at the bar as usual when a new customer walked in.
The girl had long beautiful hair that was slightly wavy. She seemed to be looking for someone as she approached the bar to Sammie “I didn’t know you were working tonight?” the customer asked in a whisper.
Sammie was taken aback as she shook her head and widened her eyes “But I work every night...well, except for Sundays.”
She rounded her eyes “Scorpio, it’s me, Mia….” She whispered even softer.
Sammie shook her head again “I’m sorry, I'm actually a Pisces.”
"No, I'm Pisces!" Mia cried out suddenly.
Sammie's eyes moved away and then back "Oo...kay..." she said slowly. What can I get you? This is a bar after all."
Suddenly the girl touched her ear and she put on a serious face “Oh…okay.” She whispered to herself. Sammie put down the glass she was drying and looked at the girl strangely. Mia smiled widely “I’ll just have a coke please….NO alcohol…it makes me break into hives.” She added quickly.
“Coming right up.” Sammie said in her friendly tone.
The girl looked around and suddenly her eyes caught on Matty singing on the stage. Suddenly, she looked like a frightened bunny and began touching her ear “He’s here. I see him…oh…okay…I’ll stay calm.”
Sammie heard whispers as she placed the drink in front of Mia “Miss…are you okay? Do you need help…or go somewhere? The insane asylum or something…” Sammie faded away but the girl was no longer paying attention when Matty began walking over.
“Hi cutie!” he purred at Sammie and sat down next to Mia who instantly went on her feet. Matty looked at her with his perfectly plucked brows “Hi, I'm Matty. Are you one of my fans?" he said brightly.
Mia backed away a few steps "I'm going to attack..." she said softly but it was loud enough for Sammie to hear.
She wrinkled her brows "Miss, are you okay?" she asked genuinely.
Matty turned to Sammie "You know her?"
Sammie shook her head "No, new customer."
"What? No, I will not stay calm...he's in front of me!!" Mia cried out loud causing a few heads to turned not to mention Matty's shocked expression that he exchanged with Sammie.
He reached out slowly and touched her shoulders "Hey girl, are you okay?"
Mia quickly grabbed his finger and twisted it backwards “Now I’ve got you!!” she laughed hysterically while Matty shrieked in pain. He swung his hand to hit her but she caught the other one and twisted it behind his back “Not so tough now are you?”
Sammie was fearing for her friend’s life “Miss…what are you doing?!! Do you know him?” she asked.
Mia smiled victoriously as she jammed her free palm on Matty’s back head and pushed his cheek on the counter of the bar. He let out a piercing scream “Rape!! Sammie…help me!!!!! HELP!!!” he began sobbing.
Lauren heard the commotion as she came running over. Instead of helping Matty, she crossed her arms and smiled “I told you not to mess with girls’ boyfriends. Is it so hard to ask if the guy is straight?” She scolded.
“Shut up witch!” Matty managed to yell out “Let go of me, you freak!!!”
But for some reason Mia was a lot stronger even with her petite figure. Sammie crawled out of the bar as she tried to pull her arms off of Matty “What are you doing? Let him go!!! I’m going to call the cops if you don’t let go.”
Suddenly the girl pulled back her arms and touched her ear “What? The bar is Oppose??? I thought you said Opposite???” she cried with frustration “Leo, don’t ever let Taurus be in charge again.” When she realized people were staring at her strangely, she looked up and smiled.
Matty had found his way behind Sammie “I think you better call the insane hospital and take her away. She’s only a menace to society.”
Mia pointed at him viciously “I heard that!”
He yelped and lowered himself behind Sammie again “Miss, who are you looking for?” Sammie said cautiously, not wanting to alarm the girl “Maybe I can help?”
“Oh..no…just a little misunderstanding that’s all. Sorry for the inconvenience. Just pretend that I never came.” Mia gave Sammie a wink of the eye and began walking away while mumbling again “Scorpio, I swear she looks like you….” She giggled loudly not caring that the people had practically jumped out of the way as Mia exited towards the door.
“Oh my God!!” Matty cried. His neck was facing one side as he began to panic “I think she broke my neck…I can’t move it…” he reached for Sammie’s arm and shook it “I’m going to die….help me!!”
Lauren rolled her eyes while Sammie laughed at his melodramatic act. Lauren reached up and placed her hands on his head and twisted it so that he was facing forward. He cried out in pain but then began to smile and turn his head when he realized it was okay again. Lauren frowned “I kinda liked it better earlier.”
“Shut up!” Matty barked making her laugh even louder.
Sammie turned to the customers “You can all return to your seats. Matty will be on stage in a minute.” She announced while the crowd died down.
Matty sniffed back the fake tears “That was a near death experience, I don’t think I can perform in this state of mind.”
“Do you want me to tell them to go home?” Sammie asked.
Within a second he snapped “No! My fans are waiting.” He sucked it in and marched his way over to the stage leaving the girls laughing.
Minutes later, Ethan and Sean walked in. Lauren greeted the two guys with a bright smile “You just missed a huge show.”
Sean turned to the stage where Matty gave him the eye “It looks like he just started.” He said in confusion.
Lauren laughed “Not that…some girl came in earlier and she was all weird and everything. She saw Matty and then began to beat him up. I bet you it had something to do with her boyfriend.” She was convinced of it.
Sammie rolled her eyes “And you call Matty dramatic.” Ethan turned to her with questioning eyes “We don’t know who she was. But it seems it was just a misunderstanding. It was really weird though, she kept touching her ear and talking to herself.”
“Maybe she’s got a split personality.” Sean suggested.
Ethan nodded in agreement “My second cousin has that problem. She’s always talking about herself in the third person. She’s been seeing a psychiatrist for ages but it doesn’t help. I think it’s a mental game that you have to defeat.”
“How profound.” Lauren cooed.
Ethan laughed “Thank you…and I’m going to ignore that sarcastic tone in your voice.”
Sammie shook her head “So Sean, what are you doing here again? I thought you had a business meeting outside the country?”
He nodded “Yeah, but my flight was cancelled and the next one is tomorrow morning, so I decided to talk some more with my new partner. Not to mention his beautiful employees.” Sean flirted openly with the girls.
“Did someone say beautiful?” Matty gushed as he bounced his way over to the group.
Lauren raised a brow “Sure, he doesn’t hear it when I’m talking to him from a foot away but he hears a compliment and suddenly, he’s got superman ears.”
Sean and Ethan stifled a laugh while Matty crossed his arms “Better superman ears than superman’s built.” He snarled at Lauren.
And so the war of words began. They went on for a good 15 minutes but after laughing so hard Sean held up a hand while wiping his tears away “Enough…you guys are making me cry…” he chuckled “It’s getting late and I have an early flight. As fun as this is, I have to say farewell. I’ll see you all at the Christmas Dinner Party this year.”
The girls nodded politely while Matty smiled “I’ll walk you out.”
Ethan nodded and shook Sean’s hand “I’ll see you next month.”
Matty deliberately walked behind Sean to check out his butt again. He turned to Sammie and bit his bottom lip exaggeratingly and his eyes rolled upwards. Suddenly Sean put up a hand and spoke without turning back “Stop looking at my ass, Matty.” He warned.
Again Matty turned to the group and lipped the words ‘Oh my God’. Sammie and Lauren exchanged glances and smiled at Ethan who only shook his head “What’s wrong? Jealous?” Lauren teased.
Ethan laughed “Yeah, please find me a gay guy to check out my butt.” he said unconvincingly.
Lauren smiled seductively “You don’t need a gay guy, I’ll do it for you.” She said casually and turned her head to check out his bottom. She turned to Sammie with a nod “Not bad.”
Ethan blushed uncontrollably while Sammie grinned “You asked for it.” She said to him.
“Remind me to give you a big bonus this year.” He wagged his finger at Lauren.
Lauren nodded as she crossed her arms and tilted her head to one side “If that’s what it takes to get a big bonus…what do I have to do to get a gigantic bonus?” her comment only made him blush more.
Sammie turned her back and nudged her friend in the ribs “Stop it…he looks like at strawberry, you want him to look like a tomato?” she walked away towards the bar so that Ethan won’t be that embarrassed. But little did she know that the two have been flirting for days now.
