***********Hong Kong****************
It was close to two weeks since Mel had left and Addy was feeling restless. She wanted so bad to visit him in Toronto but her father would not give her a second to escape. She roamed the streets of downtown and came upon and open market. The sky was getting darker so her bodyguards stood by closer to her. She turned with a look of annoyance “Don’t you guys ever get tired?!”
“No, Siu Jei.” The head guy shook his head solemnly.
Addy let out a frustrated sigh “I’m gonna go crazy.” She groaned. She pulled her hands back behind her and walked on.
“Real VCD’s, great quality…come buy them. Only 20 dollars!” Don hollered as he tried to sell his fake copies. He hasn’t made a sale all day.
Addy walked up to the guy that was crying for attention as she picked up a vcd “Real?” she wrinkled her nose.
Don smiled “Yes, Miss…it’s all great qualities. If you buy two, I’ll give you one free.” He offered. “Just twenty dollars each.”
Suddenly a sly smile crossed her face “Really?”
He nodded happily, finally about to make his first sale of the night “Yes. Here, this is a good movie with Andy Lau and Nick Cheung. It’s funny as hell…you’ll laugh at that scene with the girls…” he dug around while Addy held the vcd in her hand.
When she saw that Don wasn’t looking she took the vcd and ran off “Thanks!” She cried as Don looked up in horror.
“Hey, you didn’t pay for that!!” He cried as he saw her running away. Never did he notice the group of men running after her. He saw Snow and Gary walking towards him as he pointed to his box of vcd’s “Watch this for me!” he cried as he rushed off after Addy.
He chased her for a good 30 minutes while the bodyguards had long given up. They were even more out of shape than Don. He finally cornered her into the alley as he was out of breath “Give me…my….money….20…dollars…” he gasped between breaths.
Addy was also tired as she sat herself on the ground but she wasn’t willing to give up the fun just yet “Come …and get…it…” she waved the vcd in his face.
Don staggered towards her with a look of vengeance “You little brat…I’ll teach you a lesson…” he was inches from her when he suddenly was attacked from behind. One of the bodyguards caught up and pounced on Don. He fell flat on his face while Addy laughed.
She stood up “What did you say? Teach me a lesson?” Addy curled her hand around the back of her ears sarcastically. “I’ll teach you a lesson.” She turned to the guys “Take him back.”
Minutes later Gary and Snow caught up in the alley but when they looked around, no one was there “Where did they go?” Snow asked.
Gary was holding onto the box of fake vcd’s “I don’t know…”
Snow turned to him and glanced at the box “Isn’t that illegal?”
He quickly dropped the box to the ground and she laughed with her head shaking “I forgot all about it.” he said embarrassingly.
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell your boss.” She winked at him and patted him on the arm “Come on…wherever Don is…I’m sure he’s alright.”
Don was blindfolded as the guys took him back to Addy’s place. Her father wasn’t home from the business trip yet so she had time to mess with the poor lad. She sat him out by the mansion pool with her bodyguards standing behind to wait for her orders.
When they pulled off the blindfold Don realized he was not in a normal kidnapping place. “Who are you?!” he asked as he struggled to untie his wrists and leg.
Addy laughed haughtily as she nodded to one of the guys standing behind Don as he reached into the pool and took a bucket of cold chlorine full water and poured it over Don. He yelped from the cold water that hit ever inch of his warm body “Feels good doesn’t it?” Addy asked amusingly.
Don shivered as the water washed over his eyes “What do you want?”
“I’m bored.” Addy proclaimed as she bounced over to Don and kneeled down to where he was balled up. “Can you keep me company?”
“Crazy bitch.” He muttered as he moved back.
“What did you just say?” Addy raised her eyebrows. No one ever dared to speak to her like that before.
Don backed away more “I said you’re a crazy BITCH!!”
Addy laughed humorously as she stepped closer to him “Say it again and I’ll really teach you a lesson you’ll never forget.”
“CRAZY…BI-” he didn’t get to finish as he was quickly pushed into the pool by Addy.
Suddenly she remembered his wrists and legs were tied, he would not be able to swim “Oh shit!! Save him!!” She pointed frantically as three guys jumped in and saved Don who was easily out of breath.
They pulled him up and Addy untied him. Don began to choke hysterically “Murderer…” he gasped.
Addy shook her head “I didn’t mean to do that…I forgot about your gags…” she said earnestly.
“Addy!” the voice of authority called out to her from the patio door.
Addy winced as she realized it was her father “Daddy…” she spoke lightly.
Cheung Gor stood there with his hands to his back “Get in the house now. Bring that man with you.” He walked back inside to wait for her.
“Shit…” she cursed as she turned to Don. “You heard my father…come on.” She pulled him up roughly and walked into the house with him drenched from head to toe. Her father sat on the leather couch with a grim expression. “Yes daddy…”
The powerful man looked at her with disappointment “What did I tell you about torturing people? Stop trying to escape your bodyguards. They are there for your protection.” He scolded.
Addy nodded unconvincingly “Sorry daddy.”
“Are you? I don’t think you even know what the meaning of the word is.” He shook his head and then turned to Don who was confused by the whole situation “Who are you?”
He brought his hands up in defense “Shit…all I wanted was to sell vcd’s. Your daughter here stole one without paying and I chased her to get my money back. The next thing I know, I was dragged to this mansion and was thrown in the pool with my wrists and legs tied together.” He explained quickly.
“Is that right, Addy?” the man asked with widened eyes.
“I didn’t steal it…I just didn't pay for it yet…” she mumbled.
Cheung Gor shook his head as he stood up. Don mistaken that the man wanted to hit him as he covered himself. Addy rolled her eyes as Cheung Gor laughed humorously “I’m not going to hit you, son. What is your name?”
“Don.” He stood more normally but still a few feet from the powerful looking man.
“You look familiar.” The elderly man looked at Don thoughtfully “Were you caught in a burglar attempt at the Chung Wah Bank 5 years ago?”
Don nodded “How did you know?”
Cheung Gor let out a sigh “I’m sorry…” Addy looked at her father confusingly “My boys didn’t mean to drag you with them. I thought the driver was taken care of but it was too late to take over your case.”
“So you’re the son of a bitch that caused me to go to jail!!” Don growled angrily. His years were wasted in prison because of a mistake?
“Hey, watch it! You don’t know who you’re talking to!” Addy cried angrily “He’s the Dai Gor of Red Dragon.”
Don’s face turned pale, he was standing face to face to the head of the toughest gang in Hong Kong? “I…Uh…you…are…Cheung Gor?”
“That’s not for you to call.” Addy retorted.
Cheung Gor turned to his daughter with a shake of the head and she rolled her eyes away “Yes. I am the one and only. I’ve always felt guilty for your sentence. Tell me how I can repay you.”
Don frowned “It’s okay…I don’t need anything. I just want to make a good living and live peacefully.”
The man laughed nodding his head “That’s a good plan. But selling fake vcd’s won’t cut it. Want to follow me? I’ll make your life worthwhile.”
Don smiled “Thanks but no thanks.”
“What are you stupid?” Addy was stunned as she snapped her head over to Don “Do you know how many guys would die for that offer?”
“Yes.” Don replied sarcastically “But I know the lifestyle of a gangster. I don’t want to not know when I’m gonna die. What if I want out?”
Cheung Gor smiled “How about I make an exception? If you want to leave, I will not stop you. If you follow me, I will keep your life as comfortable as possible.”
“Daddy!” Addy whined as she pulled on his arm “Don’t let him in. He’ll just pick on everyone cause he knows he’s special.”
“He is.” Cheung Gor reminded Addy. “Make yourself comfortable. I have to make a phone call.”
Addy’s face brightened “You’re calling Mel Gor?”
The old man narrowed his eyes “Don’t be nosy.” He waved for the butler and the man instantly dialed for Cheung Gor. He gave him the phone after the first ring. Cheung Gor had began to worry for Mel since he didn’t hear from him for over 3 days. The cell phone voicemail picked up and the man sighed.
Addy was watching closely “Mel Gor doesn’t answer huh? I haven’t got a hold of him since he left.” She said worriedly.
Cheung Gor frowned “I think I’m gonna have to send over some guys to see what the problem is.”
“I want to go!!” Addy proclaimed.
“No.” the man said firmly.
“Why not?!” She grumbled “I have more bodyguards than the president. I’ll be fine. I want to see Mel Gor.” She whined.
“It’s too dangerous.” The man spoke more softly.
Don looked up at them “If you don’t mind me asking, where is it?”
“Toronto.” Cheung Gor smiled.
“I can take her there. My sister and I practically grew up there. I know all the shortcuts and escape routes.” Don offered.
Cheung Gor trusted the young man for some reason “Okay. I’d rather have a native go with Addy.” Her face brightened like lights on a Christmas tree. “Under one condition.” He pointed to her threateningly.
“Yes daddy.” She replied sweetly.
“Do not leave Don’s side and your bodyguards.” He ordered.
Addy nodded like an angel “I won’t daddy.”
