*************One Year Later*************
Neil and Jill are going strong. They continue to work together at Blush Magazine, where he is the head photographer of the front layout. Since Kathy moved away, Jill was temporarily out of the job until her boyfriend offered her a job as his 'assistant'. Of course, she was not qualified for the position but it didn't matter to Neil as long as he got to see her everday.
Philip was recently promoted to Seargent. He now runs the homocide department and is doing well. He has yet to meet a girl that is charming enough to catch his eye. So in the meantime, he is pouring his heart into his work. He was soon transfered to Ontario, Canada to do more work.
Kacy took care of her father until his death day. She is truly sad that they did not get a longer time as father/daughter. After the Tigers split, she no longer wanted to stay in Hong Kong. Her father left a great amount of money behind where she put half into the convents that supported Christianity while the other half she used to live the rest of her life comfortably in California, USA. It was a place she always found interesting.
Caitlyn moved out of Toronto to begin a new life in Ontario. She still loved Canada too much to move out of it. But she did not want the gangster life to linger a trail behind her. She soon met a caring guy by the name of Philip who happened to be a policeman. He was special than any of the guys she has ever met. Yet sometimes she felt like she's seen him before. Indeed she did yet it was too long ago for her to remember the little follower of Luke, Dai Lou of the Tiger gang.
Roach is finally dating a girl that no one would have guessed he would ever date. For it was a look down amongst other gang brothers to date an ex girlfriend of their own. But when Mel gave the two his blessings, Janet was thrilled and Roach was gracious. The two currently live together in Mel's old apartment where they share one bedroom while the other one is used for storage.
Luke was brutally tortured, raped and beaten for days until he could not take it anymore. He decided to hang himself using ripped slices of the old cotton blanket. No one cared that he did nor did anyone stop him. Even until that very second before his last breath, he still didn't regret anything that he's ever done. But he continued to ponder how Mel lived through the cliff fall. Luke never found out about Phil's undercover job.
Gary and Snow is now expecting a kid after four months of being married. They are more in love than ever and have not had their first fight...that is until the thought of a child coming up. Snow wants a girl and Gary wants a boy. The two decided to be surprise with the sex of the baby. They would wait until the birth of the baby. Snow no longer needs the swear jar but from all the money that was put into it, they were able to buy everything necessary for the baby...a crib, bassinette, tub, boxes of diapers, toys, stroller and so much more. Needless to say, Gary was finally glad that something good came from Snow's swearing.
After Addy proposed to Don, the two were engaged. She threw it on him unexpectedly and he was stunned while lying in bed next to her. He never guessed that when she said she was going to the bathroom that she would come back in the most provocative white lingerie with a ring linked inside a necklace chain that she wore. She went on her knees and Don almost choked in tears at her heartfelt speech. The two are sickly in love and almost no one in the Red Dragon can stand the couple each time they walked into the room. One day when they came to visit Roach's bar, the owner had to kick out the smooching couple because it was making everyone sick. Addy threw a tantrum, called in her bodyguards, who then covered the couple so they could have their privacy and the customers wouldn't have to be sick to their stomachs.
As for our famous couple, Mel and Kathy...could you guess what they are doing now? No, you sick-minded people! They are not humping like rabbits! As a matter of fact, they only had one special night. From then on, Kathy remained true to her heart and decided that their next special night would be their wedding night.
The two lead a peaceful life in their victorian home located in Toronto, Canada. Mel worked as an art director for a local museum and Kathy continues to be a fashion designer. The two are still not married nor engaged. Kathy had been ready since the day she saw Mel again after he allegedly died. But she knew Mel had his own plans so it was useless to ask.
It was over a year later that Kathy got her wish. It was a normal summer evening and the couple already had their dinner. Kathy was washing the dishes when Mel rushed up behind her, which startled her "Oh Jesus! Would you stop doing that?" she laughed.
He kissed her sweetly on the neck as he hugged her waist "I want to show you something."
"I've already seen it, Mel." she rolled her eyes, sometimes he could be so egotistical. Yet she found it sexy at the same time.
"No...but remind me to later." he said with at twinkle in his eyes. With that he turned her around and leaned over the sink to turn off the faucet. He took her by the hand, not caring that it was dripping wet as he yanked her outside their huge home. "You've got to see this." he pointed to the darkened sky.
Kathy frowned "There's nothing." she turned to him strangely, he was up to something.
He smiled "Just keep looking."
She turned up and as if on cue, a giant explosion blew up into the sky. She stumbled back a bit, at awe at the beautiful fireworks before her. She didn't know how he did it but the fireworks that came up next was a visible picture of her face. Kathy smiled brightly, never noticing that Mel had slipped away "Mel..how did you..." she turned in circles when he was no where to be found.
Her eyes lingered in the sky but she ran back in the house to find him. When she came into the house, the door closed behind her and the lights to the entire house were turned off. At first she felt a shiver but tried to concentrate her eyes against the dark, but she didn't have to for long because when she looked up at the ceiling, it was filled with glow-in-the-dark stars, some of them dangling from a string. Her mouth gaped open, totally at awe with the scene before her.
"I may not be a romantic..." Mel's voice echoed through the house yet she could not find him anywhere. "But I know that you deserve the best. Katie, I have been in love with you since the minute I saw you. I've never told you this but I know you have the right to know now." She stood still waiting for him and suddenly felt a hand stroke her hair. He turned her around slowly and she smiled when his faced glowed from the stars.
She reached up her hand and wiped a tear that escaped his eyes "Mel...you know I don't need you to be romantic. I love you, isn't that all that matters? But all this..." she looked around "it's gorgeous. A girl can get use to this." she giggled.
He was as calm as can be yet there was an aura of seriousness around him. He gently clinged onto her hand as he kneeled down on one leg in front of her "You are the only girl I see my future with...the absolute star in my heart. I don't want anyone else but you. I love you more than life itself and I would give up life just to be with you..." at this time, Kathy was bawling as she covered her mouth with her hands to keep the cries from escaping "And plus, you're so fucking beautiful." She let out a chuckle as he asked the final question "Will you be my wife?"
Kathy nodded while her voice choked "Y..Yes.."
He smiled "Reach in your pocket." he ordered.
She looked at him strangely but did as he told, she felt a ring inside her right pant pocket. When she pulled it out, surely it was a diamond platinum ring so shiny that it twinkled in the dim light. "When did you..."
Mel shook his head with a smile as he stood up and put the ring on for her "Uh uh uh...a magician never reveals his secret."
Kathy shook her head with a laugh "You're so full of it."
"Did you just say I was full of shit?" he joked.
"If that's what you heard." she teased in return.
"All I heard was you said yes." he reached up to her face as he pulled it closer to his own. Mel kissed her gently on the lips and slowly it became more intense. He pulled back after a while but their foreheads continued to touch "What is your wish right now?" he whispered.
Kathy smiled menacingly "I want to see Snow and Neil..."
Mel frowned under the glowing ceiling "Unfortunately I can't do that for you." She gave a little shrug and he laughed "How about the whole gang?"
"Mel...what are you up to?" she knew he loved to surprise her.
He only smiled "You know me too well. Roach!" he called out and surely the lights came on and appeared everyone by the stairwell standing against the wooden handles. Kathy covered her glees of laughter with her hand. There was everyone that she has not seen for over a year.
Her tears welling up when Snow walked up to her with tears in her eyes. The girls embraced like sisters and Kathy instantly felt her pregnant stomach "Oh my God!" she cried and the girls embraced once again.
Addy stood on the sideline with tears in her eyes too as she rushed over to the other two and bounced in her place "I wanna join!" she cried as the three squealed happily.
Kathy's eyes lingered around the room and nodded to Roach and Janet who was smiling at her. She walked over to the girl "I'm glad you're safe now."
Janet hugged her dearly "Thank you for everything. I'm very happy now...Roach is the best." her gaze moved over to her boyfriend who was smiling at her while talking to Mel. "I'm very lucky."
"I think it goes both ways." Kathy smiled. But it slowly faded when she felt a hand cover her eyes.
"Guess who?" a male voice spoke gently into her ear.
A shiver ran down her spine as she recognized it "Neil..." she breathed gently and he let go of his hands as she spun around. A grin spread across her face as the two hugged like they haven't seen each other in ages. He was after all her only best friend for years.
Neil laughed at her response yet he too felt as giddy as his best friend "Congrads! I'm so happy for you." he reached down and kissed her on the cheek.
Suddenly at the corner of her eyes, she saw Mel lunge towards Neil as he threw a punch in his direction. She closed her eyes when she heard a smacking sound and a few girls cried in shock. When she opened her eyes, she saw Neil on the ground covering his eyes. Her hands covered her mouth as she turned to Mel with wide eyes. "Don't fuckin touch my girl!!" Mel cried at the hurt Neil.
Kathy turned to Mel "What the hell was that all about?!!"
As abruptly as the punch, Mel began laughing hysterically and Neil too joined in and Kathy turned around to Roach who then laughed loudly. She gave a little snicker when Roach punched his fist into his left palm, which indicated where the smacking sound came from. She saw Mel pull Neil up by the hand as the guys continued to laugh. "I told you she'd flip if I hit you." Mel said a matter of factly.
Neil shrugged "Okay...you win." his eyes were unharmed as he turned to Kathy "Sorry...I know it was a horrible joke." he put up his hands in defense "Mel would never hit me." he reached out and touched Kathy's shoulder.
Mel suddenly came over and removed Neil's hand "Hey...seriously man...don't touch her. It makes me nervous." Neil nodded understandingly. Mel turned to Kathy who was still at shock "Sorry baby..." he pouted and held onto his ears with his fingers giving her a puppy face.
Kathy couldn't resist the face as she laughed "Don't ever do that again! You scared me to death! I didn't even know what to do..."
He hugged her with a laugh "I know...the look on your face said it all. Don't worry, I will never do anything that will hurt you."
She nodded while her slender arms tighted around his waist "I know..."
The two were married within two weeks where a reception was planned at the very house they now live in. Mel invited only the closest people to him and Kathy. Roach did the honors of playing the part of the priest. The ceremony took place in their lucious green backyard. Kathy was in the most beautiful white-laced dress. Her hair was let down and slighly curled and her veil clipped around the top of her head. Mel wore a handsome tuxedo, which made him look even more charming than ever. The two were in their own little worlds when they said their own vowels, promising each to love each other only.
