Vicki, Tyler and Tara mingled with the important people. Everyone gushed over how Tyler was so cute and adorable with his smile. Which of course made his grin grow wider. Tara nodded to the nice elder couple that Vicki introduced them to “So are you having fun?” the lady asked.

Tara nodded “Of course. I’ve never been to one of these types of parties before. I’m not sure if I’m star struck or just in shock.”

The lady laughed heartily “Aren’t you a darling.” She turned to Tyler with a smile “You better keep her.”

“Oh, I intend to.” He said firmly taking her hand in his.

Vicki smiled as she nodded the couple away but that soon disappeared when she saw her biggest competitor walking towards her with a smug face “Vicki…” his voice was syrupy.

“Jared…” Vicki said hesitantly “I see you didn’t find a date.”

“Of course not!” he laughed haughtily “She’s the beautiful girl in the turquoise blue dress behind me.” He didn’t bother looking back but he took a sip of his champagne with arrogance.

Vicki raised her brow “Really? The one flirting shamelessly with Louis Koo?”

Tara stifled a laugh while Jared turned to her with evil eyes. Tyler quickly covered Tara “Do you have a problem?” he asked threateningly.

“Low class chums…” Jared muttered before disappearing to retrieve the girl clinging onto Louis’s arm.

Tyler turned around to face Tara “You okay?”

She smiled “You’re so cool.”

“Yeah, who knew you had it in you.” Vicki quipped. Her eyes did a double take on someone “Oh my God.” She whispered.

“What is it?” Tara asked.

“Don’t look…but I think that’s Mr. Perfect. What is he doing here?” Vicki whispered. But to her dismay, the two began arching their necks around “Stop it!!” she hissed over and over.

“I don’t see him.” Tyler announced.

“Me neither.” Tara confirmed.

“How could you not see him??” Vicki exclaimed as she spun on her heels and pointed “He’s the gorgeous man in the gray and white suit!” Tyler and Tara muffled their laughs while the handsome stranger turned and nodded at them. Vicki managed to wave a hand up but quickly turned away with embarrassment “I’ll get you two for this!!!” she quickly walked away on the opposite side of the room.

At the bar, Ivy was ordering from shots to mixed drinks to her own creation of shots. Ben was growing impatient “Ivy, we’ve got to go.”

“No! I’m having fun!” Ivy exclaimed.

“Come on Ben, don’t be such a party pooper.” A vain voice came from behind him. A girl in the most exquisite sequined black and white dress squeezed her way between Ben and Ivy “You never stopped me from having fun.” Her fingers tip toed up to his shoulders while his smile remained plastered.

Ivy narrowed her eyes as she took the girls fingers by her own and threw it aside roughly “Look here Miss Prissy. Rule number one, don’t touch my man! Rule number two, identify yourself before you come within a three feet radius of me.”

The girl tilted her head gently with a calm smile as she turned to Ben, whose smile had disappeared “I see you still choose the classiest ones. Where’d you find her? In a dumpster?”

“No, he found you there!” Ivy snapped. She placed her hand on her hips “Get this thing away from me.” She warned Ben.

“You’re going to let her talk to me like that?” the snobby girl asked.

“Jacqueline, this is Ivy. My talent.” Ben introduced with much confidence.

Ivy didn’t bother to shake the girl’s hand nor did she bother to put out her hand for Ivy to shake. Instead she blew up with giggles “Oh…that is so funny.” She sniffed back the tears of laughter and began cleaning off the bottom mascara that smeared from the tears “I didn’t know you were a comedian.” She pushed Ben gently.

This time Ivy flicked her brow up and pushed the girl roughly “I don’t think you listen well to rules.” A few people saw it as they quieted and began to circle around the bar.

Ben quickly noticed as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders “Ivy, its okay. Let’s just go to another bar stand.”

“Why? Is little Benny afraid of the overly made up girl in a dress too small for her size?” Ivy teased.

He chuckled a laugh while Jacqueline looked insulted as a few people around began to laugh when they heard “Be nice, Ivy. You remember the promise.” Ben warned.

She knew what she had to do “Fine…” she stepped over the girl.

“What are you going to do?” she asked fearfully.

Ivy glanced at Ben and then back at Jacqueline “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to threaten you.” She put out a hand “Truce?”

“I’m not touching your hand, who knows where it’s been!” the girl snapped.

“Now can I hit her?” Ivy asked Ben with emphasis. Jacqueline quickly backed down.

“Okay, just in the leg.” Ben rolled his eyes dramatically while Ivy turned to the girl with a wicked smile. The girl was a few feet away as she looked around for help.

“You wouldn’t dare…” she whispered.

Ivy stopped suddenly as she shook her head “Hmm…I guess I shouldn’t. I kinda like this dress. Anyways, blood dries up to look a little burgundy and plus my dress is obviously a ruby red.” She laughed it off while Jacqueline turned and walked away. Ivy turned to Ben “Thank you.” She curtsied adoringly.

Suddenly, she heard a clapping sound coming from behind her “My, my…little Ivy has sure matured in the past six months.”

She turned to face the guy and her eyes widened in shock “Mr. Perfect?”

“I beg your pardon?” the handsome stranger smiled charmingly.

“I mean…well…yeah, that’s what I mean cause I don’t know your name.” Ivy stammered.

Ben looked at them with confusion “You two know each other?”

“After a few encounters…yes, you could say that.” Austin smiled “How have you been Ben?”

“Very good.” Ben answered “Austin.”

“So that’s your name!!” Ivy snapped her fingers.

He turned to her “That’s right, we never were correctly introduced. I’m Austin Fong. It’s a pleasure for you to attend my party. I’m sure Ben is treating you like a lady that you are.”

Ivy laughed with her head thrown back as she hit Austin across the chest “Oh, that’s funny! You’re good.” She pointed with admiration “So…are you like Ben too?”

Ben hid a smile while Austin answered slowly “Well…you could say that.”

“So who’s the ugly duck you brought?” Ivy looked around and caught on a snooping individual looking at them with much interest. Her eyes moved up to Ben and her head nodded over to the area.

“Is it my stalker?” Austin asked coolly.

Ivy’s smile dropped “How did you know?”

“Oh, I’ve known.” He nodded “Shall we?” he brought out an arm to Ivy as she shrugged and linked her arm through his. Austin led her out to the dance floor where a ballad song was playing. The music was mixed with piano and a violin. They began swaying to the music in a formal dance “Is she still looking?” he asked after a few seconds.

Ivy tilted her head over his shoulder and then returned to her position “Yeah. She’s gawking now. I think I saw drool too.”

Austin smiled “She’s cute.”

“Really?” Ivy asked.

“You sound shocked.” He looked confused.

“Damn right I’m shocked!” Ivy cried “I thought you be scared to have someone stalk you around.”

“It never hurts to be cute.” Austin answered making Ivy roll her eyes “Vicki isn’t your average girl.”

Ivy suddenly stopped dancing “Okay, who’s stalking whom now?”

He laughed as he took her hand and began to lead with the music “I guess I forgot this little detail. I’m the owner of the Talent Agency.”

“A.F. Talent, Inc….” Ivy sighed “Oh shit on me now.” She looked up to the ceiling.

Austin frowned at her “You’ve got quite an…interesting choice of vocabulary.”

“No no…it’s not your fault. Its like, I just ran into your parents and acted like a doofus and then now I’m all dorky in front of Ben’s boss…yeah, it’s smooth sailing from here!” Ivy was being sarcastic.

He laughed with his head shaking “Dear Ivy, I always thought you wouldn’t care too much about the contest?”

“I don’t…” Ivy said flatly “But I think it’s important to Benny. And he worked hard to get me here…I just don’t want to disappoint him.”

Austin’s smile was gentle as his eyes darted over to Ben who was staring at Ivy with a content smile “I don’t think you can.” He nodded.

Ivy turned around and saw Ben stumbling to turn away but instead he tripped one of the caterers with ten wine glasses in a tray. A few people screamed and Ben rambled to get the guy on his feet. Ivy turned back to Austin “Not after that.” The two laughed giddily at Ben’s misfortune. She was spinning when she caught Vicki’s wave “Quick! Hold me tighter!” she urged Austin.

He turned his eyes at her strangely “Not that I’m not turned on by that demand, but may I ask why?”

“She’s looking!” Ivy widened her eyes as she hissed the words to him.

Austin quickly caught on as he pulled her in tighter and she automatically leaned onto his chest. Their hands still entwined as he laid his chin on the top of her head “Is she still looking?”

“She’s got fire in her nose.” Ivy stifled a laugh.

“Perfect.” Austin looked down at her with a smile.

“Evil.” Ivy commented “My kind of man.” She whispered seductively while Austin gave her a funny look “I can’t pull off the sexiness huh?”

“No.” he said honestly.

“I knew it.” Ivy pulled away as she bowed at him “Thank you for the wonderful dance kind Sir. We shall meet again at the Victory ball!” she turned away dramatically and rushed towards the backyard where she saw Ben had disappeared to. Austin placed his hands behind his back with a smile on his face as he watched her disappeared.

***************

Vicki was still staring at Austin as she noticed he was staring after Ivy. I wonder what she said? And then she saw him turning to her, where she instantly snapped behind the pillar. Austin approached it quietly as he stood at one of the four sides “Who are we looking at?” he whispered.

“Ah!!” Vicki jumped back as she clutched her chest “You scared me!”

Austin crossed his arms with a smile “And?”

“And what?” Vicki said “Is it wrong to stare at people? You’ve been doing that the whole time!” She accused.

He nodded “Yes, I have been. But you have been stalking me for a couple of months now.”

“So?” Vicki couldn’t search her mind fast enough for a comeback.

“You know I could have you arrested right here right now.” Austin said threateningly.

“Fine. Go ahead!” Vicki pushed.

He suddenly smiled “But if I do, how will we ever have beautiful kids together.”

“What?” She ruffled her brows together “Did you just say what I thought you said?”

“What did you think I said?” he asked with a wider grin.

Vicki widened her eyes and let out a gasped “Oh my God…all this time I thought I was stalking you and here you are…obviously madly in love with ME.” She pointed out “Aren’t you being a little too needy?”

Austin laughed as he took her hand and linked it through his arm “Come on psycho woman.”

“Okay, but I want at least a 2 karat diamond before we get engaged.” Vicki said exasperatedly.

“Done!” he nodded “We’ll pick it out tomorrow.”

“Damn, you’re more crazier than me!” Vicki sighed while he laughed it off.
