The six stared at him, ready for him to explain “I already know.” Kyle blurted out causing the eyes to turn to him.

“You do?” Anton was sure that he had held the secret safely.

“Yeah, I found the picture.” Kyle replied. He wasn’t sure which picture he was talking about. Getting up, Kyle sighed with a friendly pat on the shoulder “It’s okay, no one will judge you. I know it’s hard to keep a secret like this. Trust me, if you came out, I’m sure everyone will support you. After all, we are friends.”

Anton found himself more confused than ever “Thanks…I think. Which picture did you find?”

“The one in your drawers.” Kyle said casually as he returned to his seat “I had to borrow a pair of socks one day and figured you wouldn’t mind. I found it by accident.”

“My socks are in my bed drawers, you know that.” Anton said suspiciously “You snooped through my stuff?”

“It’s not the first time.” Anesa snickered.

“So, what picture was it?” Travis questioned, he too was curious to know what they were talking about.

“Do you mind?” Kyle asked his roommate.

Anton shook his head with a laugh “No, since you know, it wouldn’t matter who else knows. Just don’t act strange around me.”

Kyle smiled “No, I won’t. I may be homophobic but I won’t treat you any different. I mean, you’re my best friend man.”

“What does homophobic have to do anything with it?” Anesa asked curiously. He wasn’t making much sense.

“He had a picture of a guy in his drawers, obviously he’s gay and was afraid to come out because of my fear of the homosexual.” Kyle explained.

“You’re gay?” Astonished, Anesa turned to him with widened eyes.

Anton shook his head in reply and turned to Kyle “Describe the guy.”

“Well, he was well built and wore a t-shirt. He had a tiger tattoo on his left arm and his hair was streaked blond.” Kyle recalled to perfection.

“Idiot.” Anesa muttered.

Laughing, Anton peeled off his shirt and turned to Kyle “Did the tattoo look like this?”

“Well…yeah…hey, isn’t that cute, you two have matching tattoos?” Kyle cooed.

The four turned to each other with stifled laughs while Anton shook his head firmly “No. We don’t.” Kyle frowned in confusion while the group stared at him “Take your time.” Kyle nodded with a smile.

“You two are the same person?” Kyle finally realized “I don’t get it.”

“Genius! Anton was in the Tiger gang, hence the tattoo! The gang split up back in 97 and now he’s trying to live a new life. He had to hide it from you. But now he’s telling you his identity. Now if you don’t get that, I’m gonna smack—”

“Oh my God! You’re a gangster!” Kyle pointed fearfully.

“Use to be.” Anton corrected “I hope no one minds.” He looked around for confirmation.

Billie smiled “I guess you had everyone fooled with the tie and suit get up. Not to mention the innocent and quiet expressions. I guess it’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for. I don’t have a problem with it.” She replied and turned to Travis.

“Me neither except I won’t be making jokes.” Travis laughed nervously.

Ellena shrugged “Doesn’t change my outlook.”

“Great! Now that we got that off our chests.” Anesa sighed happily as she began cooking her chicken wing.

Kyle stood up suddenly “Wait, I’m NOT okay with this. I’ve been living with an ex-gangster and not to mention the Tigers were one of the deadliest gangs in the history of gangs! My life is in danger and you didn’t even bother to tell me!” he said hurtfully.

Anton got up with a look of concern “Trust me, if I endangered your life, I’d die before I let anyone lay a hand on you.”

“How loyal of you!” Kyle said sarcastically “I’m not eating with a liar. I’ll be in the condo if anyone needs me.” Turning his heels, he stormed away angrily.

“Wow…I didn’t expect that reaction.” Anesa whispered.

“We should go talk to him.” Ellena said worriedly.

“And get our heads bit off, no way. I’m staying here.” Anesa was firm.

Travis shook his head “No, Ellena’s right. Come on guys.” He began collecting the forks. They began to pack up while Anesa pouted all the way up to the condo.

Expecting Kyle to be sulking, they found the air condition turned on all the way and he was napping on the couch comfortably. Billie tilted her head “Angry, my ass.” She opened the cooler and found a bottle of ice cold water. Opening the cap, she poured it over his face. His reaction was not expected as he practically flared his arms hitting the bottle from her hand as it came spilling on the ground. She laughed and picked up the bottle.

The group joined in her in the laughter “Oh, that’s so funny. Let’s pick on Kyle.” He rolled his eyes.

Anton crossed his arms with a grin “You’re not really mad are you? You just wanted to sit in air conditioning room.”

“Of course not!” he denied, “I’m furious! I was so angry that I fell asleep on the couch.”

“So the air conditioning just turned on itself?” Billie questioned.

“I didn’t even realize it was on.” Kyle replied.

“Save it for someone who cares.” Anesa snapped. She relaxed when she felt a breeze of cold air hit her hot face “Since we’re here, I think we should just stay inside.” She turned to the girls, who too agreed.

“I second that.” Kyle raised his hand and reached for the control to turn on the television, but to his dismay the blank screen did not turn on “Hey, something’s wrong with the control.” Walking to the TV, he tried to manually turn it on but again it didn’t work.

“It’s broken.” Billie said casually as she moved the stuff into the kitchen.

“What? No TV, no phone? How do people live here?” he exclaimed.

Ellena smiled “Gosh, you would be eaten alive in the wild.”

“I’m too pretty to be in the wild.” He replied.

Anesa narrowed her eyes at him with interest “What I saw in during high school…tsk, tsk, tsk…I’ll never know.” They decided to cook the food from the kitchen and after they stuffed their faces, it seemed they had run out of things to do “I’m bored!” Anesa announced loudly.

“I wonder whose idea it was…” Travis mocked.

“Ooh! I’ve got an idea!” Anesa announced.

“NO!” this time the rest of them agreed together.

“But it’s really good!” she insisted.

He eventually gave in “Let’s hear her out. We’re all bored right?” Kyle said logically. They turned to him strangely since it was the first time he agreed with her “Oh my God, I’m delirious.” He noticed.

Billie laughed as she nodded to Anesa “What’s the idea.”

“We talk about our love problems.” She finished with a cheeky grin, proud of her idea “You know, past break ups, what went wrong…jerks…sluts.” She added it for the guys.

“Shouldn’t we save that for class?” Kyle asked.

“You want to announce it to 30 other strangers?” Anesa asked, “It might blow your chances with the rest of the girls that you haven’t dated, which is like…two. Ellena included.”

Kyle noticed Ellena lowering her head “I’m not a player if that’s what you’re saying.”

“Yeah, whatever.” Anesa snickered.

“So you don’t think I could change?” he asked her daringly. She nodded with her nose in the air “I changed after I dated you. I was innocent at one time. You contaminated me.”

“Well, you strung me along for 14 years!” she declared.

As they argued, the other four turned their heads back and forth each time one had something else to say that would top off the last “Oh God…my head.” Travis gripped his face painfully “Stop them, please.” He begged Billie.

She laughed and raised her hand “Okay guys. This can go on forever but unfortunately, we’re all going to die before you two finish. Let’s play a little game. I learned this in my psych class.” She got up to retrieve the M&M bag.” She noticed Ellena whimpering “I’ll get you a new bag later.”

While Billie ripped it open, Kyle turned to Ellena “You like that chocolate?” she nodded as he smiled “Me too.”

“Kyle, let’s start with you.” Billie poured out the random pieces on the coffee table where they were sitting around “Okay, now eat it.” She instructed. He decided not to question as he began picking the pieces and eating them one at a time. She analyzed with a smile until he finished “Okay, your turn Anton.” She poured out another handful on the table. He smiled and picked out the green colored chocolate, everything else he ate randomly. Saving the green ones for last, he ate them leisurely.

“Does that mean he’s horny?” Anesa blurted out “I heard green means horny.” She explained when the group stared at her.

“Travis, you go next.” Billie advised. He nodded and began splitting up the color and ate it in a specific order. Brown, red, green, orange and yellow.

“So what does this all mean?” Ellena asked curiously “They all ate it differently.”

“Exactly.” Billie nodded “Now Kyle. He ate them randomly, no order. Which means, he tends to be sloppy with his relationship. He picks at anything that catches his eyes first. Anton separated the green ones and ate the rest of them randomly. According to psychology, it means he is looking for the right one in the bunch. But it will take him a while before he can find that right girl that is important to him.”

“Wow…that’s pretty good.” Anesa cooed.

“As for Travis, he split up the colors in order. Which means, he’s careful before choosing the right girl. What’s your favorite color M&M?” Billie asked.

“Yellow.” He replied without thinking.

“He saved the best for last.” Billie concluded with a warm smile at him. Instead of acknowledging her gaze, he turned to the rest of them.

“Oh, that’s fun! Let me try!” Anesa was anxious to try the test.

Billie shook her head with a laugh “We can’t. You already know the analyzed conclusion, your mind will want to copy the best which is Travis’s.”

“Well, can you come up with another test?” she asked.

Billie tapped her chin playfully “Okay.” Getting up, she searched the kitchen for five cups and brought them back with bottles of water. She began filling them up randomly. Some more full than others and one had enough for one gulp “Choose your cup.” She turned to Anesa.

The girl was deep in thought wondering what each one meant. Realizing that she would not figure it out, she took the full cup and drank it down. Billie turned to Ellena and nodded for her to go next. She first looked inside the remaining four cups and reached for the half full cup and drank it “What does that mean?” Kyle asked.

“Anesa picked the full cup, which means she wants the best out of a relationship. Never settling for any less or any more.” Billie analyzed carefully “Ellena chose the half full, which means her standards for being choosy is not that high. She is looking for something that is good enough… not any more, not any less.”

“Which one is better?” Anesa questioned.

“There really isn’t one right answer. Everyone is different, all our standards are different and will eventually change. It’s human nature not to adjust to change but when the time is right, we do change and mold into something different. Although we might not proud of it, but we do.” Billie smiled at the thoughtful gazes “It’s almost dinner time. I suggest we get to the market before it closes.” She nodded to the girls “You boys stay home and relax. Watch a little fake TV if you want.”

Anesa cracked up laughing as she pointed to Kyle “Talk to your imaginary friend on the phone too.” He scowled at her in return.
