Chapter 1

The Return

Jacky looked out the window of his first class seat in the airplane. After four years of studying at one of the top universities of London, he was back. Returning to Hong Kong, his home land. He had mixed feelings about everything. A girlfriend that he wanted to break up with, a major he didn't know why he got a degree in, and his father.

Hung Chan, a powerful man in the architectural business. He was well respected by the people of Hong Kong. He started off with a job at a food stand, to being a mail clerk at a top architectural firm. He studied at night to get his degree and became an architect. Later on a manager position and then CEO. Now President of Hung Corporation, which was named after his surname. When he heard the news about his son returning home, he was extactic. He's always wanted Jacky to take over his company one day.

Maybe it was fate that Jacky had returned. Being a music major was always his dream, but he woke up one day feeling empty and soon understood why. He didn't want to play the piano for the rest of his life. So he decided to return and help his father.

His plane was getting closer to the Hong Kong airport, he saw the high rise buildings. His eyes seemed to be pulled into the magnificent view. His admiration for the little country was never ending. Jacky loved the place and couldn't imagine living anywhere else, despite the dirty air and water. *bbrringgg* his cell phone rang loud, waking him from his daze. "Hello?" he answered.

"Are you getting close, son?" it was his father.

"Yes, we're going to land in about 20 minutes, I need to turn off my phone." he looked up and saw the stewardess signalling him to get off his cell. He winked and nodded at her, "Dad, I've got to go. I'll see you home."

"Alright, I just want to tell you that I got a suprise waiting for you at the airport."

Jacky smiled into the cell phone and then turned it off. His father always had surprises for him. Being the only child he was spoiled to death by all the maids and the nanny. His mother died may years before, needless to say the women in the house all adored him. He was charming, funny and too smart for the average girl.

The landing was a little bumpy, but it wasn't anything he wasn't use to. He was one of the first to get off the plane, there was a big difference of having money and not having money. With him, it was the easy life, the best comes to him and he was very use to it.

Pulling his luggage behind him as he looked around for his driver. When he spotted a man in a black suit holding up a sign that read "Welcome Home Jacky." he quickly ran to him, never seeing the person that was about to walk in front of him.

Within a few seconds, they collided into each other. "Watch where you're going!!" the girl cried angrily. Her face suddenly changed when she saw his face. She could never forget that face "Jacky!!" her face brightened into a smile.

He wrinkled his forhead as he brushed himself up "Do I know you?" he asked.

Her mouth dropped in shock, how could he forget her? They grew up together, went to school together and graduated together. Although its been four years, but surely he had to recognize her. "Tia..." her eyes widened as she gestured with her hands turning them in circles.

He shook his head, "No sorry, the only Tia I know doesn't wear dresses" he looked at her up and down. "She doesn't wear makeup" he pointed at her blushed cheeks. "And she doesn't bump into people?" he pushed his chin in the air like a snob.

She gave him a sly smile "Well its the same Tia that you left behind without saying goodbye. Never wrote a single letter or gave her a call. The same one that saw your wee wee when we were 6!"

He burst out laughing, never expecting her to mention that horrifying day his mother thought it would be good to save water. She had him shower with the girl next door, Tia's mother didn't seem to mind. "How are you doing Tia." he embraced her in a big bear hug. Almost suffocating her.

She laughed comfortably "Good. Except my so called friend didn't even tell me that he was returning." she had a scolding tone in her voice.

"I wanted to surprise you." he pouted.

"Hmph! Like that time you left four years ago? Was that a suprise?" she almost sounded hurt.

Well, no one could blame her, when she needed a friend, no one was there. Her long term boyfriend turned gay on her. She was too embarrassed to tell anyone, but she was willing to tell Jacky.

"What are you doing in the airport?" he asked, she had no luggage.

"Picking up friend."

He covered his mouth and his eyes popped out "You're psychic?? How did you know I was returning."

She hit him playfully "No, its...Johnny (Louis)" she was reluctant to tell him.

"OHHHH, I see." he winked at her micheviously "I won't bother you two then." he didn't know who this guy was but he figured it was a boyfriend. "I'll give you a call when I get home." he waved to his driver and began to walk off.

"You might need my number to call me!" Tia called out through the crowd.

He turned around and gave her a huge grin "There's no number I can't find." he quickly rushed out of the automatic double glass doors.

"Siu Yeh, welcome home." his driver said happily.

"Thank you, so what's the surprise?" he was anxious to know.

The driver nodded his head to the beautiful red Farari on the opposite side of where they stood. Then his driver pulled out a key ring with an alarm, he pressed the little button and the lights of the Farari turned on. "You're father bought it especially for you."

Jacky smiled "He really shouldn't have, but Im glad he did." dropping the luggage that was wrapped around his shoulder as he grabbed the keys from his hand and ran across the way to take his car for a drive. He never looking back as he zoomed out of the airport. "Ahhh..." he smiled as he put on his sunglasses and pulled down the hard top and appeared a luxurious convertible.

Blasting the radio all the way as he drove down a crowded street in Hong Kong. Singing along as his head bounced to the beat. People were staring at him from all directions, but he didn't care. He was enjoying his little Amber, he already named it within a few minutes.

He drove on and found two girls staring back at him, he pulled down his sunglasses and winked at them flirtatiously. They giggled and zoomed off, while on his other side were two guys in suits. Their hair was perfectly combed and sunglasses matched them perfectly.

Jacky smiled as he nodded politely, he was normally friendly to strangers. When one of the guys blew him a kiss, Jacky gave him a disgusted look as he turned at the next traffic light.

Although he's seen alot of strange stuff in his life, the most disturbing was seeing two men together. The thought of it made his goosebumps come up. But he still had a little curiosity towards Homosexuality. What makes a guy be interested in another guy? His theory of it was never ending, but in the end he had to admit there's more to girls then guys.

He pulled up to the gate of the huge mansion, the intercom instantly turned on "Please identify yourself." a female voice asked.

"Your lover." he said calmly.

"Ah...Siu Yeh, welcome home." the gates immediately opened for Jacky.

He smiled to himself, it was the voice of his maid. They had joked around at one time about him being her secret lover. He was about 16 then and it became an inside joke. His father always disapproved him of being too friendly with the maids, he even thought about changing the younger ones to old ones. But that never came through because Jacky threw a huge tantrum, threatening to burn down the house. He was so wild when he was young that his father feared he would be crazier when he grew up. So when he threatened anything, his father had to give in to Jacky's demands.

But he never took advantage of his father's weak side. He was always just exaggerating, such a drama queen, as one of the maids commented to him.

He pulled up to the driveway and parked his new car next to his dad's Lincoln. Locking the car as he jumped out of the car without using the door. As he approached the front door, it automatically opened for him. He stopped inside the front step and looked around as he took in the view that he hasn't seen for four years. Breathing in the delicious aroma of Yuk Jei's cooking. The maids quickly stopped their dusting and cleaning as they ran to Jacky, almost tackling him to the ground.

They laughed and giggled as they gushed over how well he looks. Saying he was growing up to be so handsome and if he had a girlfriend. He didn't have time to answer them because his father silenced the room with his presence. The maids quickly returned to work while Jacky smiled at his father. The elder man motioned for his son to follow him. He gave the maids one last wink before he bounced up the stairs.
