Chapter 16

The Perfect Plan

Jacky felt helpless as he watched her disappear down the elevator. Returning to his 'new' office, he sat down and made a phone call to Tia. "Hey, you home?" he asked.

"No, Im just answering the phone inside my home." she answered sarcastically. "What do you want?" he heard her let out a yawn.

"You still sleeping?? Its already 11am!!"

Tia pulled the reciever away from her ear "You don't have to yell!!" she screamed into the phone. "I took the day off."

"Oh...I need help." he said finally.

She laughed "I already know that, but what can I do for you?"

"Tia, this is no time to joke around. I really screwed it up this time." he sighed loudly into the phone.

She instantly caught on "You better not have hurt her in any way. I swear, you'll pay for it." her tone warning.

"You might as well kill me now. She's really mad...can you help me?"

Tia was silent for a while "Oh, alright!" she said after she thought about it.

"Thanks! You're the best. Im coming over right now!" he said happily as he hung up and left the office.

"No! Hello?? Jacky??" it was too late, he was already on his way. She slammed the reciever onto the cradle as she pulled herself up from the bed. Suddenly she sat back down, a dizzy spell overcame her. "Oh.." she groaned as she touched her head. She was out drinking the whole night with Johnny. She vaguely remembered what went on last night, except that she was dancing with Johnny.

"Tia?" the timid voice called from the bed. Johnny eyes popped open as he pulled the covers over his head "OH MY GOD!!! What did we do??!!!" His eyes peeking over the sheets as he looked at her with wide eyes.

She rolled her eyes at him "Here Tia, have another drink. That's not enough, have another shot. Oh, this one's really good, try it.... remember?!" her eyes flared at him as she explained what happened the night before.

Johnny's eyes dazed over as he remembered last night, they had way too much to drink. He gave her more drinks to loosened her up but he never realized how much she had to drink until she told him. "You don't suppose we..." he looked at her weakly.

"No!! Of course not!! That's crazy..." she looked down at her own clothing. She wore a t-shirt and panties. "Oh crap!!" Tia burried her face in her hands.

Johnny sat up as he moved closer to where Tia was "If you're afraid, we don't have to tell anyone. I mean, we're the only witnesses right?" he didn't want to ruin their friendship.

Tia threw her hands up "What a story to tell the kids, yeah, mommy slept with a gay man. Honey, your father's gay." she was being over dramatic.

"Tia, Im sure you won't be pregnant..." he trailed off when she turned her flaring eyes at him "If you are, I will be responsible for everything. We'll do whatever you want, okay?"

"I don't want to have a kid with my gay friend!! If Im pregnant, the kid's going to grow up a freak and he'll be tormented by the other kids. He'll be teased throughout high school like Annie. Oh my gosh, he won't even know if he's straight or gay....he'll go through an identity crisis" her eyes glazed over as she totally lost it.

"Tia!!" he shook her shoulders roughly "Calm down. Listen to yourself, you'll be fine. I'll be with you the whole way. Trust me...stop worrying." his voice was more controlled.

She looked more calm after he shook her worries away. She smiled "Yeah, it should be okay, no one will ...." they froze in place when the doorbell rang. "Jacky!!" she whispered loudly. They fumbled as Johnny went back to his room and Tia put on her sweatpants that she found in the corner of her room. She straightened her hair and ran out to open the door.

Jacky rushed through the door as he took a hold of Tia's shoulders "Did you come up with any plans? Tell me!!"

She pushed him away "Shh!! Johnny's still asleep." she whispered loudly.

"Oh, we'll just wake him up too." he ran towards Johnny's room as he banged his fists against the door. "Johnny!!!" he yelled out.

The doorknob slowly opened and out appeared a groggy looking Johnny. His usually stylish hair was messy and flipping in all directions. "What?" he let out a yawn.

Jacky gave him a disgusted look as he plugged his nose "Man, brush you teeth first and then we'll talk." he walked back to the living room where Tia prepared coffee for them.

She set a cup down for Johnny and gave one to Jacky. Her hand was craddling her own steaming cup "This is gonna take a while." she commented as they sipped their coffee while they waited for Johnny.

Within 10 minutes, Johnny emerged from the bathroom with his hair perfectly combed and his breath minty fresh. "Okay, what's with all the commotion?" he was about to sit next to Tia, but felt awkward so he sat on the double seater with Jacky.

"What's wrong with that seat?" Jacky asked as he squirm uncomfortably in his seat, it was too small to fit two grown men on there.

"He likes men, remember?" Tia said matter of factly.

Jacky gave Johnny a funny look "Yeah, I almost forgot. Anyways, I need your help to get Annie back."

"When was she yours to begin with?" Tia quirped.

"Shut up! You know what I meant!" Jacky said with a little hostility.

"Wow, she turned you that straight huh?" Johnny joked. Tia laughed but Jacky looked serious.

"Come on guys. I came here for help, not to be ridiculed." he was in no mood to mess around. "Think of something for me."

Tia and Johnny grew silent as they thought hard of any plan that could help Jacky. After almost 15 minutes, Jacky couldn't stand the silence "Oh come now, between you two, I would have expected to have at least 10 ideas." they didn't answer him. After a while longer, Jacky was restless as he got up and began to pace the floor.

"Stop!!" Tia suddenly bursted out "The walking..." she pointed at Jacky "Its driving me nuts."

Jacky put his hands on his hips "That's all? Come on smartmouth, Im sure you have something good??" he jumped over the coffe table as he sat down and leaned his face closer to Tia.

"I did have an idea until your face scared it away. Now it just went blank!!" she said sarcastically.

"Don't lie, its normally blank anyways." Jacky returned the remark. She leered at him angrily. "Okay, Im sorry, I need your help really bad. Sheesh, Im so desperate." he rolled his eyes.

"Got it!" she snapped her fingers victoriously while Jacky's face brightened "Do something nice for her."

He slumped from his seat "Tell me something I don't already know."

Suddenly, the quiet Johnny spoke up "Well, why don't you so something interesting. Like surprise her with a gift. Or take her to someplace special for dinner?"

"Now that's what you call an idea. Im talking to him!" Jacky pointed to Johnny as he moved his direction on the coffee table to where Johnny was. "Keep talking."

"Girls like flowers, they like surprises, they like romance..."

Jacky's lips slowly merged into a smile, he laughed as he clapped his hands "Yes! That's perfect!!" the guys laughed and shook each others hands "Well done!"

"What's perfect?" Tia spoke up, in the mist of all the talking, she got lost.

Jacky's face grew serious as he turned to her "And I thought you were a girl!" he spat out the words.

"What does that have to do with anything? You're taking advice from a gay guy!!" she argued back.

"But a cute gay guy, a gay guy with a brain." he smiled as he jumped up from his seat. "Come on Johnny, help me plan it. Make a few phone calls for me and I'll write the notes."

Tia looked even more confused as she looked from one guy to the other. Johnny knew exactly what Jacky wanted to do yet Tia had no clue whatsoever? Jacky found some blank paper as he began to write notes. He looked up and found Tia staring blanky at them "Would you like me to spell it out for you?" his voice full of sarcasm. She shrugged her shoulderes as he rolled his eyes and tapped Johnny on the shoulder with his pen "Can you tell that person over there what our plan is?"

Johnny chuckled as he nodded, he walked over to Tia and explained exactly what the plan was. A smile crept on her face as she came to realize the plan. It was more than perfect, Annie would die in his hands. "Aww...if a guy would do that for me..." she sighed out loud, with a dreamy expression in her eyes.

"The day that happens, I'll be sure to call the psychiatric hospital to take the guy away." Jacky teased as he continued on with his notes. She growled at him with teasing anger.

They worked hard for the rest of the day for the 'Perfect Plan', that was what they called it. Johnny made so many phone calls that his throat was hurting from repeating the same thing. By the end of the night, they were exahausted, but no where near done. The three went out to the nearby mall to shop for the perfect dress. Tia picked out a few styles but they recieved No's from the guys. After a full hour of searching, they were ready to give up and call it a night. But suddenly, Jacky stopped at one of the stores. He spotted a lavendar dress that was so beautiful, he instantly knew it was the one.

The dress was a light lavendar, made of lace and silk. It flowed to the ground from the waist. The tiny daimond sequined trailed from the left strap of the dress to the neckline and then all the way down the seams. It was exquisite. He could almost imagine Annie wearing it. Even Tia had to gasp at the dress, it was even prettier up close. Jacky wasted no time as he bought the dress in a size two. They wrapped it in a dress box with a matching lavendar bow.
