After the first interview, she immediately dropped her restaurant job and became a mail clerk at one of the office companies. Slowly, she began to move up and became a secretary. Although she was happy there, it wasn't her dream job. She wanted to be an architect. Annie promised herself that she would go to school at night to get her degree, but she wanted to save up some money first.
She was almost positive that they would hire her. The HR manager was very friendly and kind, it made her fall in love with the company even more. For she was sure that everyone in there were really nice. Pushing the bridge of her thick black plastic frame towards her eyes, she looked up at the 20 story building again admiring its beauty. The glasses were way too big for her, but the doctor said if she got thinner lenses it means more money and she definitely didn't have the money to treat herself to a new pair of frames. Afterall, its followed her for so long, she didn't have the heart to leave it.
Pulling out her keys to her tiny apartment down the block from Hung Corp, she opened her door. Her place was tiny and stuffy, but she knew the amount that she made would never be enough to afford a bigger place. Her parents had immigrated to Canada a few years back, but she decided to stay. They didn't try to convince her to leave Hong Kong, instead they said it was a good idea for her to live on her own and be independent. Annie secretly thought they were just ashamed of her due to her not so attractive looks.
She even came to realize that she would never be one of those beautiful flawless models in the magazines that she's seen. At a ripe age of 26, she never had a boyfriend and intended to never get one. Actually, it should be hard to fight off the guys since there's never been one. She never knew the feeling of being hit on, nor the feeling of being loved and cared for. Her independency was all she had and the thought of letting a guy take half of that away? She'd rather live to be an old maid until the day she died.
She opened her half size fridge, looking at the empty spaces inside made her depressed. She needed to go shopping and soon too. Sighing as she slammed the door shut and reached for her big black purse again. She hated going out, people were always staring and laughing at her. Annie was about to open the door when she remembered her cup o noodles. Smiling as she dropped her purse on the two seat couch and rampaged her kitchen drawers for the instant noodles. After a few minutes of searching, she pulled it out of its hiding place and peeled the plastic open as she prepared for her lunch.

"What is it you want to talk to me about?" Jacky asked his dad when they were in the family's library room. His dad motioned him to close the door and he did.
"Did you like your gift?" he asked his son as he made himself comfortable on the leather chair behind his desk.
He smiled at his father "You can almost read my mind."
The elder man laughed "Im glad you liked it. Anyways, lets get a little more serious." his tone changing. "Im very excited that you have decided to help me out. Since you will be Vice President, I want you to get to know the employees and managers a little more. Maybe on a personal level."
Jacky ruffled his eyebrows "How do you suppose I do that? Afterall, if they know Im the son of the President, they will definitely treat me nicer than normal."
His father smiled slyly "That's why Im proposing that you enter the company with an undercover identity. Get to know the people around you but I still don't want them to suspect anything. I will have my most trustworthy assistant to help you get a position in there and he'll be the only one that knows who you are."
"That sounds like a great idea!" his smile broadened as he began to think of what kind of personality he could be. He can't be too casual, but at the same time he needs to stand out.
"Well, I'll give you time to think about it. Now I have to make a phone call to Jim. He's going to be working close to you."
"Okay, I'll meet him myself later." He closed the door behind him as he returned to his room, actually its more like a suite. With a built in jacuzzi in his huge bathroom, he was able to relax anytime he wanted to. He had originally designed the room himself, but he never once thought about being an architect.
Picking up his phone as he dialed a phone number he so long ago memorized. "Hello?" a female voice answered.
Jacky pulled off his shoes and socks. "Hi baby. Why haven't you called me?" his voice sultry. He unbuckled his leather belt and peeled off his pants.
"Who's this?" the voice demanded.
"How could you have forgotten me already?" he whispered seductively into the phone. Unbuttoning his shirt as he continued to tease Tia "Last night was amazing!" he gushed.
She paused "It was? But I fell asleep in the middle of it."
They burst out laughing together "I got you there didn't I?" he asked.
"Just for a few seconds. What do you need?"
"I need a little help." he explained his situation. He knew he could trust Tia, she didn't work for his father nor did she know anyone that worked there. There was no harm in her knowing. "So what do you think I could disguise as?"
"Hmm..." she thought about it until a smile crept on her face "I've got the perfect disguise!! Come over in an hour, I live across the place from my old apartment. Its on the 3rd floor, apartment 3P. I'll tell you when you get here."
Curious to know but he was still willing to wait. He hung up with Tia and jumped in the shower. Changing into his jeans and gray sweater, he rushed out the door. Waving to his 'girls' as he ran out the door. The atmosphere around the home seemed to happier since they found out Jacky was returning. He brought out the sunshine in their lives. Most of the maids couldn't wait to see him get married. Actually, they just wanted to meet the lucky girl.
He pulled up to the apartment structure and parked his new car in a litted space. He stepped out of the elevator and followed the signs to Apt. 3P, when he reached it he saw a guy opening the door to the place. He began to wonder if he got the wrong apartment. Tia never told him that she lived with a guy.
The guy seemed to sense Jacky's stare as he turned around "Are you looking for Tia?" his dark tan seemed too perfect. His arms showed how often he worked out, his tall stature seemed to be overbearing. He had a masculine appearance to him.
Jacky smiled in return "Yeah, you know her?" he quickly stepped to the door and walked inside as the guy closed the door.
"I live with her. Im Johnny." he put out his hand and Jacky shook it with great strength. "Nice handshake." the guy smiled and squeezed his hand harder. Jacky tried not to wince in pain as he too returned the squeeze.
"Oh, would you stop that macho thing!" Tia scolded as she appeared at the hallway that connected to her and Johnny's rooms.
The guys let go as they chuckled at each other. "You never told me you had a boyfriend?" Jacky asked.
"Him? Nah, he's just a roommate. I did have a boyfriend although, you weren't there for me to tell you." this time, he caught the hurt tone in her voice.
"Is something wrong?" he was always able to sense what was wrong with Tia.
"Boy he's good." Johnny commented as he took a seat on the couch.
Tia motioned for him to sit down on the couch as she took her own seat. "It happened about three years ago, I was dating this guy named..." she paused and looked at Johnny thoughtfully "What should I call him? Dog?" Johnny nodded with a smile on his face.
"Dog, I dated Dog for about two years. I thought I found the love of my life. But one day, you know what Dog decided?" Jacky noticed bitterness in her voice as he shook his head "He decides that he wants to be gay. Actually, his exact words were 'Tia, I think Im gay.' He THINKS he's gay!! Anyways, I went through a bit of trauma. Ignoring everyone I knew and I never talked about Dog again. Until a few months later, I got a call from Johnny." she nodded for him to take over the conversation.
"I was Dog's boyfriend, the same guy that he left Tia for. But also the same guy that left me for another guy. He was a real jerk." he shook his head sadly.
Jacky's eyes popped out from his sockets, "You're...." he couldn't say it because he couldn't believe it. Johnny looked so straight.
He and Tia laughed "That was my same reaction when I first met Johnny. Anyways, he called me out to talk. He apologized for stealing Johnny away and asked for my forgiveness. I felt we were on the same boat so I befriended him. After a few months of hanging out, we moved in together. He just came back from a long trip, just like you."
Jacky shook his head slowly "Im sorry Tia, I should have been there for you."
She smiled "Its okay, at least he was here to comfort me. I would have gone crazy. Anyways, enough with the drama. I wanted to tell you about the perfect disguise. I told Johnny a little about it over the phone before he came home. He agreed to do it."
"Actually, I was jumping for joy." Johnny added.
"Im almost afraid to ask." Jacky said, his eyes leering at Tia.
"You said you wanted to stand out but not enough for people to pay attention?" Jacky nodded, still not understanding her point. "Well, how about being gay? I mean think about it, you won't have to worry about the girls jumping all over you." she rolled her eyes while Jacky pushed up his chin in the air "And no one will pay that much attention to you since no one wants to befriend a homosexual. Im not saying make fun of them, Im saying you should use it as a barrier."
He clapped his hands happily "You did it Tia. You've finally did it."
She looked at him oddly "What do you mean?"
"Why out of all 21 years that I've known you, you've finally got a good idea." he moved out of his chair as a pillow came flying at him from Tia. He laughed as he put up his hands "Okay, I was just teasing. Sheesh, Johnny, do you have any bruises?" he asked sarcastically.
"Plenty!!" he pulled up his shirt showing a scratch mark that Tia accidentally made. The guys seemed to hit it off as they talked about everything. It couldn't have been more perfect. After lunch, they returned to Tia and Johnny's apartment to talk 'business'.
