Reina followed footsteps up to the second floor of the large home. She stood at the foot of the top floor and noticed Chris was directing the men into one of the rooms to the east wing “Don’t think cause you helped me out there earlier, I won’t forget you caused me to go to jail.”

She stepped carefully closer while keeping the same manipulative smile “We were both caught and put in jail, don’t give me that crap. The only difference is that I got out using my brain, how the hell did you get out?”

Chris laughed with his head thrown back “You wouldn’t believe it if I told you.”

“Try me.” She shrugged casually.

“He found me, through Ah Bat.” Chris smiled “He got me out.”

“Who? How? The only way I got out was a signature from Joe and the Mayor.” Reina recalled.

Chris motioned for her to follow him “Yeah, that’s what he did. Apparently, the Mayor was caught doing something illegal. My boss caught him and did the normal blackmail. He agreed to do it and I'm not sure how he got Joe to sign anything but here I am.”

She laughed, “Sounds easy. So, when am I gonna meet this boss?”

Chris stopped as he turned to her “You’re not. He doesn’t like people from the P.R.A. He hates them with a vengeance and only wants to kill them slowly. I don’t think you would want to meet him.”

“I was never WITH the team.” Reina reminded him.

“Even so…I wouldn’t trust being around him if I were you. Trust me, he goes beserk. But you’re lucky today, he went on a business trip and won’t be back until tomorrow. You can’t stay here tonight though.” Chris confirmed.

Reina nodded “Fine. Can I see Julie?”

He smiled as he approached a door “Of course.” He opened it and allowed her inside.

Julie looked tired as she sat in a corner of a twin size bed, a two year old girl in her arms. Reina recognized Bonnie from the pictures Mia showed her “Ga Jei?” Julie recognized her though her vision was hazy.

“Julie.” Reina smiled slowly “You look horrible, has Chris forgotten to feed you?”

Chris snapped his eyes up “What?” he marched over and took a good look at Julie “You do look pale, are you sick?” he pressed his palm over her forehead “She’s a little warm, you have a fever? Let me get you some medicine.”

The minute he was gone Reina looked desperately at Julie “Come on, we have to go now. Before he comes back.”

“Ga Jei…what…” she was dizzy and could barely stand.

“Julie, you need to walk.” Reina took Bonnie into her arms “Come on!” She urged.

“I can’t.” she sat down “The baby…” she patted her stomach “He’s not well. Take her first…Go. I’ll be okay. He won’t kill me.” She assured Reina.

“But he’ll kill Michael.” Reina said, her head spinning towards the door.

Julie looked up dazily “They got him?” Reina nodded “No…I can’t go then. I have to stay with him. Take her…go!” she pushed her sister to leave.

Reina was torn, she wanted to save all three. But it was nearly impossible to support all of them as she turned and rushed out of the room. She raced down the hallway and at the top of the stairs, she noticed Chris was walking back with a pill bottle and a glass of water. She retraced her steps and moved to the opposite hallway.

She watched him carefully as he took the stairwell slowly with the glass in his hand. The minute he entered Julie’s room, Reina raced towards the stair for the escape. Erin was hidden behind a curtain as she rushed over to Reina “You got her.” Erin smiled happily as Reina handed over Bonnie.

“Yeah, Julie and Michael are still locked up.” Reina replied hastily “I want to get them out.”

“I’ll come back for you. Be careful.” Erin nodded.

The minute the girls turned the opposite way, a gunshot rang out in the dark home. They froze in their steps. A silver gun was pointing at Reina as she backed up closer to Erin. The figure was a male, they could tell but he wore a black mask over his face, hiding his identity “Not so fast, ladies. I haven’t done my job as a host yet.” His voice teasing as he ushered them into a corner.

“The team is coming, you can’t get away.” Erin pointed out.

“The team!” he spat harshly “Useless bunches of crappy people that think they know it all! Led by an irresponsible leader that couldn’t even fight off his attacker.”

Reina snickered “If you didn’t give him that extra sleeping pill, Joe would’ve kicked your ass!”

"Hmm...you guessed it." He laughed humorously.

Chris rushed down the stairs after he heard the shot “Boss, I thought you were-”

“Nuisance!” the man growled angrily “Must I do everything myself? How could you be so gullible? She was never going to help us.” He nodded to Bonnie in Erin’s hands.

“You bitch!” Chris spat harshly.

Reina smiled “Thanks.”

The bodyguards appeared by the masked man as they surrounded the girls, weapons drawn “Any good ideas?” Erin asked.

“Distraction.” Reina said in a low voice.

“How?” Erin asked.

With her silent prayer for a miracle, the living room window suddenly crashed into the home while the girls leaped to the ground, shielding themselves from the flying glass. They turned in time to see Doug and Darren rolling to their feet “I always liked a good entrance.” Doug grin as the bodyguards pointed their guns. The guys quickly moved away from the shots and knocked it skillfully from their hands. The front door was opened and appeared Matt, Mia and Becca as they rushed to their rescue.

Shots were fired as the team rolled away and around the bullets. The masked man retrieved as he turned and ran towards the back of the house “He’s getting away!” Mia pointed.

“Get Michael and Julie!” Matt ordered as he chased after the masked man.

Darren and Doug nodded to each other as they raced for the stairs. Chris was fighting with Becca while Erin held tightly to Bonnie. She watched while the girls subdued the rest of the attackers and finally Chris was cornered. He was out of bullets but was still trying to fire “You know that clicking sounds means your out.” Becca snorted sarcastically.

“Shut up!” Chris threw it at her as she moved her head to the side to dodge it. He looked around for help but all the bodyguards were down.

“So, how does it feel Chris?” Mia asked with a snarl. He looked at each of them with a vengeance “Taken down by a bunch of girls. How dare you take my child!” She stepped closer while he continued to step back.

Suddenly, he fell to his knees “Please I beg you. Spare my life…it was not me that tried to kill you! I was only a pawn! Please, don’t kill me…” he lowered his head.

Mia turned to Becca and in that second, Chris pulled out a hidden gun from the back of his shoes under his jeans. Reina knew too well the sneakiness of her once partner as she cried for Mia to move “Look out!” she sprung towards Mia and pushed her to the ground while the shot was fired into her right shoulder. She crumbled painfully to the floor.

“Reina!” Mia cried as she pulled her into her arms. The bullet missed her bulletproof vest by an inch and hit her outside the shoulder.

Chris pointed the gun at them as he backed towards the door, circling them away from him. He scrambled to open the door and rushed out towards the van. Becca was about to race after him “Guys, we need help!” Darren called from the stairwell.

Doug was supporting Julie while Darren found difficulty in holding up the unconscious Michael. Becca rushed over to help her teammate while Mia supported Reina in her arms. Matt came back minutes later “I didn’t catch him. He must have a secret hideout in this house.” His eyes moved around and found Reina on the floor, her arm bleeding while Mia cradled her back “Reina…”

She smiled through the pain “Gotcha, didn't I?”

He sighed “That’s not funny.” He turned to Erin, who also smiled with a twinkle in her eye “You two scared the crap out of me. I thought…” he trailed off guiltily.

“That I turned?” Reina finished. Mia moved away when Matt motioned he wanted to take over “Once you’ve listened to Mia, you can’t go back.” She joked.

He pulled her arm around his neck as he picked her up easily “Now that’s funny.”

During the commotion, Jenna heard her teammate’s familiar muffled voices as she screamed into the door “HELP ME!!! It’s me, Jenna!!!” she cried over and over but soon realized they were too far to hear her. She slumped down in defeat and wondered if they would ever get her out.

Suddenly, the door opened “Jenna!” Mark cried as he rushed over to her.

“Mark? How did you find me?” Jenna asked, she was happy to see a familiar face.

He lowered his head “Don’t get mad…but Riley called me.”

“Riley?” Jenna asked curiously “How did he know I was here?”

Mark turned his back “We don’t have time, come on.”

“The team is here.” Jenna said as he helped her to her feet, her chained hands would have to wait until they were free.

“Is that where all the noise is coming from? I came through the back door.” Mark explained shortly as they jogged outside and followed a hallway that led up a flight of stairs “You were in the basement.”

She nodded after realization “What kind of freak would build a house with a basement in a country without tornadoes?”

“Beats me.” He laughed while assisting her past the first floor library and into the kitchen. Finally, the reached the living room, in time to see the team moving out “Guess who!” Mark announced brightly.

The group turned surprisingly “Jenna? Mark? What are you two doing here?” Matt asked.

“I was kidnapped.” Jenna explained shortly.

“We’ll talk later, let’s get out of here.” Matt nodded for them to follow along.

Reina went through an hour operation to get the bullet out of her arm. Michael was tube up to the machines again. Julie was taken into examination and declared she was lacking nutrition. The baby was weak but they were confident that it would recover if the mother recovered.

Matt sat next to Reina’s bed, his hand covering hers as he smiled slowly “You scared me.” He whispered.

Her eyes twitched open as she returned the grin “I’m sorry…”

He shook his head “I know…but next time, please tell me. You have no idea what I was feeling earlier when I thought you had turned on us.”

“I could imagine.” Reina joked.

Suddenly, her room door crept open “Hi.” Mia whispered. She didn’t catch Matt retrieving his hand from Reina’s “I brought you some flowers…and a couple of visitors.” She moved away while the rest of the group entered the room.

Darren carried Bonnie, who was revived and well enough to move around “Say hi to your lifesaver.” He nodded at the little girl.

“Hi lifesaver.” She repeated obediently.

The group laughed together the first time that night “She’s too cute to be yours.” Reina teased. Mia cleared her throat loudly as Reina rolled her eyes “But she’s as cute as you, Mia.”

“Thank you.” She curtsied.

“Can I borrow your hurl bag?” Erin joked. Mia turned to her long time friend with a scowl as she punched her on the arm “Ow! What was that for?”

Mia placed her hands on her hips “You have to ask?”

Erin laughed “Oh that…hey, if we didn’t come up with the plan, it wouldn’t have run so well. We wanted to make it real as possible. If not Chris would not have bought it.”

“Yeah, but…you scared us!” Mia whined.

“Not me, I knew their plan the whole time!” Becca replied confidently. The entire group didn’t buy it as they turned to her with raised brows “It wasn’t convincing enough huh?” she asked with a nervous laugh.

“I almost bought it.” Reina winked.

“Okay guys, out…everyone out. She needs her rest.” Matt ushered for the group to leave.

Mia groaned, “Aww, but I want to visit longer.”

Reina laughed, “Mia, you just got your daughter back, I would be the last person you want to spend time with.”

Mia approached her bed side as she grasped her hand between her own “But if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have Bonnie to spend time with.” She reached down and hugged her dearly causing Reina to suppress a few happy tears “Thank you.” Mia whispered sincerely.

She could not hold it in as she pushed Mia away roughly “I don’t want to kill you.” She covered her eyes with her free hand “I made a vow that if anyone saw me crying, I would kill them.” she said with a shaky voice.

Mia smiled, knowing that Reina was not the affectionate type “Okay. Take care.”

“Bye Reina!” the group said randomly.

“Bye.” She lowered her hand and caught Matt’s last smile, a tear crept from her eyes as it made it's way down her cheek before the door closed.
