The team entered different entrances that led to the same subway. Each of them were posed as normal average people going along their business. Doug had the least comfortable uniform, he was to play a student with a backpack around his shoulders “I don’t know why I have to wear this. I’m thirty.” He grumbled to himself when the subway arrived.
Mia’s distinct laughter came through the earpieces “But still a kid at heart. I think it fits you.”
“Well, a nun doesn’t exactly fit you.” Doug snapped back. A few people turned to him strangely as he began nodding his head and singing randomly.
Matt and Devin parked at a nearby street as they turned to each other “Guys, our radar is detecting nickel base metal. It’s moving between Darren and Erin. Heads up guys.”
“Copy.” Erin answered as she smoothed out her suit jacket “Taurus, do you see anyone suspicious?”
Darren shifted his sunglasses as he searched the crowd nonchalantly “You see that guy standing with his hand in his pocket?”
Erin moved herself closer to the bridge of the train “Yeah.” She turned away from the guy when he shifted his eyes towards her.
Devin quickly pointed to the screen and looked at Matt “There’s more.”
“Reina, there’s one right next to you. Ryan, there’s one in your section too. Jenna are you still outside the train?”
“Yes.” Jenna answered.
“I see him, guys.” Ryan answered, “His shirt is see through.”
“Is he gay?” Mia asked.
“What does that have to do with anything?” Reina asked with a short throaty chuckle.
Mia’s eyes remained glued to the guy “Does he have on a white shirt?”
“Yes.” Ryan replied.
“I see him too.” Mia replied, “I’m going in.” she walked over to the guy and smiled sweetly “Sir, would you like to donate to the First Baptist Church?” she brought out a box with a cut in the center.
The guy didn’t bother to look at Mia as he answered, “I’m not Christian.”
“God bless you.” Mia thanked him and turned away “He seemed a bit nervous.”
“You would too if you were planning to bomb the train.” Devin’s eyes hardened “He has a grenade on him, Mia.”
“How many are you spotting?” Darren asked.
“Ten.” Matt replied.
“Crap…we only have 7, how do we stop all of them at once?” Mia asked.
“I can take two.” Erin said with confidence.
“Same here.” Reina replied “They’re within distance.”
“Guys, I think they’re making their move.” Darren warned when he saw the guy stand up, his hand in his pocket as he was ready to pull out something.
“Stop the train!” Devin commanded. Matt nodded as he punched in commands to the control causing the train to screech to a stop causing people to be thrown around from the sudden halt.
Darren fell to one knee to keep himself from falling over. His quick eye noticed the guy pulling out the grenade, a few people began screaming when they too saw it. Bouncing on his feet as he quickly tackled the guy to the floor and took hold of the grenade “Now!” he cried to his teammates as they began attacking the suspects.
Erin pushed the guy towards a wall and slammed his head onto the metal door “Where is it?”
“What?” the guy asked innocently. His hand suddenly covered his jacket as she used her leg to kick his hand aside, quickly reaching into his pocket, she found the grenade “Two!” punching him in the face, she knocked him unconscious.
Mia yanked her nun outfit off and appeared to be wearing all black, kicking the guy from the back as he fell to the ground “When someone asks you to make a donation, you make one.” The guy got up as he began bouncing his feet in a boxer’s motion “Move aside!” she yelled at some of the people standing too close to the guy. He looked ready to fight as he whipped his fist at her but she was quick to block with one hand and threw a punch at his nose with another. When he began bleeding, she snickered “Is that all you have?”
“I just got my nose fixed!” the guy touched the blood as he began going crazy attacking her. Dodging his punch, she kicked him in the groin where he fell to the ground in pain.
“You might want to get that fixed too.” Mia snickered as she reached in his pocket for the grenade “Three.”
“Four!” Ryan cried as he finished off the guy with a chop at the neck causing him to fall to the floor.
Doug found himself tangled when the guy tried to grab an innocent victim, Doug pulled the girl away but instead he was captured. The gun pointing at his neck as he raised his hand in defense “So, you’re one of them.”
“Pisces!” Doug exclaimed as he looked past his shoulder. The guy thinking he was being attacked turned with the gun pointed giving Doug just enough time to knock him down and take his gun with ease “Works every time.” He pointed to the gun at the guy while searching his body for the grenade “Five.”
Jenna sped up when the guy began to run after he heard the train coming to a stop. Placing a hand on his shoulder as she stopped him “Going somewhere?” He threw a punch at her jaw as she bent back and made a handspring “That’s not nice.” She warned in her ready stance.
The guy’s eye moved to a little girl with her mom and sprinted towards them but Jenna was ahead of him with a kick as she knocked his reaching hand for the girl. With each grunt, she held in the pain when he punched at her stomach “This is nice.” The guy said smugly as he laughed at her pain.
Crying out to let out her frustration, she attacked him with a new vengeance, punching any part that was not being blocked “Aim for the balls!” Mia advised.
Jenna did just that as she saw an open shot and kicked him where she knew he would be knocked out within seconds “Thanks Pisces.” Jenna found the grenade “Six.”
“Good job team, four more.” Devin said nervously as he paced around the van.
“Seven.” Erin said, her voice out of breath as she finished another guy.
“Tired already?” Devin asked, a smile on his face for he knew she was out of shape.
“Still enough energy to kick your ass.” Erin replied calmly.
Mia laughed as she sat on the captured guy eventhough he was already unconscious “Now kids, no arguing.”
Reina finished hers as she announced “Eight and nine.”
“That’s my girl.” Matt laughed.
“Where’s the last one?” Ryan asked as he searched the train for his teammates. He caught up with Erin and Darren.
The two shook their heads “Can you see him, boss?” Darren asked.
“He’s on your left Reina!” Devin warned.
She turned “But there’s only a kid…” her words faded as she sat the kid playing with the grenade “Sweetie, give me that.” She coaxed gently.
“But that man gave it to me.” She pointed to someone behind Reina.
Reina turned and only caught a glimpse of half of his face, but she knew who he was. Chills ran down her spine as he smiled and continued calmly towards the next section of the train “I’ll give you a hundred for that.” She bargained with the kid after remembering that they would die if it were to go off.
“Okay!” she handed the grenade to Reina, who in turned sighed with relief.
“Ten.” Reina checked in “I think we got another lead, team.” Matt punched in another command as the train began moving again. The people cried in surprise again “It’s okay! You are all safe now.” Reina announced in her section.
When the train stopped at the next exit, the police had already made their way over and secured all the exits. The people pushed out of the doors as they were met up with rows of policemen. Ted stood in the center with a bullhorn “Everyone, please stay where you are. We will be performing searches, once you’re finished, the policemen will let you go.” There were groans of disagreements but they knew going against the law would be a felony.
The team emerged with the suspects, the uniformed police automatically took them into custody “Ted!” Mia waved wildly.
When he didn't acknowledge her, Darren turned to his wife with a funny face “I think he’s trying to ignore you.”
“No one ignores Mia but Mia!” she exclaimed while marching over to Ted “Hello!” she tapped him on the shoulder roughly.
Turning, his brows rose “Mia! I didn’t see you.”
“Oh…that’s okay.” Her face cooled as she pointed around “Crazy day.”
“Tell me about it, first the bomb threat at the Kowloon Police Department and now this.” Ted laughed with a shaking head.
“Kowloon?” Reina asked.
He nodded “It was just a scare. Although we had to evacuate everyone.” Ted noticed the thoughtful expression on her face “Did you think of something?”
Quickly shaking her head “No, nothing.”
Ted nodded to his teammates to take the team out “We’ll take over from here guys. I think Devin is a block east of the Mong Kok exit.” He nodded to his old teammates “How are you guys?”
“Good.” Darren smiled “We got Erin back.” He turned to point at Erin, who was helping an elderly lady up on her feet. She turned to her team and instead was met eye to eye with him. Her heart skipped a few beats but she refrained from making the moment awkward.
“Hi Ted.” She greeted with a smile.
“Hi Erin, long time no see.” He smiled shortly.
Mia laughed nervously “See, it’s not awkward.” Doug quickly jabbed her in the ribs “I mean, isn’t this nice? A reunion…well, except…” earning another jab from Doug “Stop that!” she whacked him across the arm.
“Let’s go meet up with Matt and Devin.” Reina announced her team, giving Ted and Erin a chance to talk.
After the group left, the circle around them filled with awkward silence “So, you’re getting married.” Erin smiled gently.
“Oh…yeah, I didn’t get a chance to tell you…” he stammered.
“It’s okay Ted.” Erin sighed “I couldn’t expect you to wait forever for me. I’m truly happy for you.” She said sincerely.
“Thank you.” He didn’t know what else to say “Will you come?”
She grinned, “I’m invited?” she teased.
“Of course! You’re one of my good friends.” He insisted.
“Good friends…” Erin nodded “Anyways, I should go.”
“Yeah, I’ll mail you the invitation.” He promised. She smiled and lowered her head as she walked towards the escalator. A content look on her face as she exit the subway, it was what she needed to close things off with Ted.
