While Luke and Chuck were in the room trying to get a computer made picture of the attacker, the girls were outside cleaning. Eve was resting in the living room when Erin insisted that she not clean due her pregnancy “Who could it be?” Carmen asked more to herself.

“Anyone that hates us.” Erin snickered “There are plenty. The minute we went public, we gained more cases and the missions are getting more dangerous. I think it could be any of the past cases.”

“Luke said the guy told him someone paid him to do the job.” Carmen advised in a low voice eventhough there was no need to whisper.

Erin was thoughtful “Sounds like a private job. But why Luke?”

“Because he’s connected to me?” she asked.

“Or me.” She reminded her “We have no leads. Hopefully they got the picture going.”

In the room, they had just finished printing the picture “Wow, that’s incredible!” Luke held the picture by his fingers delicately.

“I stole the program from Ted. Only the police department has this computer program.” Chuck advised.

“Isn’t that illegal?” Luke frowned.

Chuck’s smile dropped “You want me to tell Carmen about your past?”

“See no evil, hear no evil.” Luke winked.

“Good boy.” Chuck patted his head like a puppy.

The girls entered the room minutes later “So, how are we doing?” Erin asked.

“We got a picture.” Luke passed it on to her.

“I’ll take this back to Daniel and see if he can find a match.” Erin advised. She noticed the short scar on the guy’s forehead. She looked up and noticed the guys smiling at her “What?”

“Ahem, since when did you move on without telling your Uncle?” Chuck grinned from ear to ear.

“Yes, and what does the Commander have that the Head of Security doesn’t have?” Luke joined in with the third degree.

Erin rolled her eyes over to Carmen “Can you believe this?”

She laughed with a shaking head “And they say women are nosy.”

“Oh please, you begged me to ask Erin this morning!” Luke pointed out. Carmen was red in the face as she tried to shut him from continuing “Luke, ask Erin for me. Luke, when are you going to ask her?” he mimicked.

Crossing her arms with the picture rolled in her hand “I’ll keep you guys in suspense.” She turned her heels and walked out “Luke, turn on the alarm when you get home and don’t leave the house if it’s not necessary!”

Erin wouldn’t admit but the nosy guys had a point, she was around Daniel a lot lately. Self conscious, she decided in the end to see Ted instead. She reached the station after Ted’s department was dismissed. She was about to knock on his door when she noticed Sara was inside as they shared a packed dinner while he was looking over a file. Smiling to herself, she decided not to disturb them. Walking down the hall, she reached Daniel’s office. Luckily, he was still there working hard “Come in.” he called when she knocked on the door.

“You don’t get overtime.” Erin teased.

Daniel looked up at the sound of her voice, an easy smile appeared “Well, what a welcome. Didn’t I just see you last night?”

She laughed “Getting rid of me is the hard part.” She made herself comfortable on a seat “I need you to look up someone if you can.” Erin passed on the picture to him.

“An ex boyfriend?” he raised a brow curiously.

Erin shook her head “No. Maybe potential enemy.” She quickly explained to him Luke’s situation “I want to find the source of the problem before it gets worse.”

“Good thinking.” He nodded in agreement “Let me get Ted to look up—”

“He’s…busy.” She said hesitantly.

Daniel was not unreasonable as he nodded “Okay, I’ll do it myself. But you might want to get a cup of coffee, I’m not too familiar with the search program.”

“I have nothing else to do.” She smiled as they headed out together to the computer database room. He scanned in the picture and did a few searches. It took almost an hour for the search to be completed “Over a hundred matches.” She read.

“We’ll shorten the search for misdemeanor or felony files.” He typed in a few key words and half were eliminated. Erin scrolled down and looked through each picture with careful observance and read all the backgrounds. Daniel pointed to a few that appeared to be harmless. Erin rubbed her eyes tiredly “Coffee?” he asked.

She shook her head “No, then I won’t be able to sleep tonight.”

“Talk about boring…I was meaning to ask you something.” Daniel began. When he had her full attention, he continued “There’s this Police annual dinner party thing next Sunday. Very formal and not to mention tight necked officers getting drunk and acting stupid. I was wondering if you could salvage my insanity by being my partner?”

“You do have a way with words. It’s hard to turn down that offer.” Erin joked.

He grinned “It’ll be very boring.”

Erin raised both hands like a balance “Cup o noodles in pajamas or dinner party?”

“I would choose the first.” He laughed.

“Then who would be my date?” she raised a brow playfully.

Daniel nodded “I promise the minute you yawn, we’re out of there.”

“It’s a deal.” She chuckled as they shook on it.

**************

“Did you get it?” Mia asked behind her sunglasses when Reina got in the car, hidden behind her jacket two sandwiches.

“Yeah, I had to go two blocks but I found it.” She passed Mia the ham and egg sandwich as well as the potato salad. Watching Mia mix the salad into the sandwich, she grimaced with disgust “Are you sure you’re not pregnant?”

Mia took a huge bite of the peculiar sandwich “Hmm…good. Just missing…” Reina passed her a dilled pickle “Heaven.” She sighed after taking a bite of the sour pickle.

Shaking her head, she sighed, “Now I know what the guys mean when they say ‘Poor Darren.’ I can only imagine what he must go through your pregnancy.”

“I am a hoot to get along with!” Mia denied the allegations “He couldn’t wait for me to have another kid.”

Reina’s eyes moved up to the Monet bar for any suspicious person entering. But it was still early in the night. She took a bite of her regular ham and egg sandwich, she turned to Mia “So Devin has a five year old boy?”

“Wow, the rumors sure fly fast.” Mia snickered with her eyes widened.

Reina almost choked on her bite “You told me this morning!”

“Oh…yeah…I did.” Mia laughed “Poor Erin. The girl has had her share of boy problems. Why can’t she just have a normal relationship like us?”

“I agree. She would be much happier if everything is settled in her life.” Reina nodded “I mean, how much pain can a girl take before she signs herself in the loony bin?” she snorted and when Mia turned to her with raised brows, she stopped laughing “Don’t answer that. I know I was in one.”

Mia finished another bite when she noticed a group of people getting out simultaneously from three cabs “Dork! The Tigers are coming.” She tapped her earpiece to activate it and warn Doug.

Reina dropped her sandwich “Come on.” She pulled at Mia’s sleeve “No time for warning. Devin says we can’t have this happen again.”

Sum Gor walked in with his boys, his eyes searched and it quickly landed on a scantily clad dressed gal at the bar. Jenna was prepared when she heard Mia’s warning. Turning to the group of men, she tilted her weight onto one leg “Sum Gor, what brings you here?” she said without feeling.

“Take her.” He nodded to the guys as they walked over and took a hold of Jenna.

She struggled until Doug’s voice ordered “Stop!!” he pushed the Tigers that was handling Jenna “What the hell is this?!” he challenged the Dai Lou.

“Taking what belongs to the Tigers.” Sum Gor turned his head towards Ryan “She belonged to On Chai.”

“You’ve got some balls old man.” Doug snickered “She’s not an object and she’s with me and has been with me. You want her, you go through me.”

“Doug?” Ah Kiu showed up with Ah Chung at her side “What’s going on?” she recognized the puffy man from a few nights ago.

“This clown thinks he can walk in here and try to steal Jen.” Doug nodded.

Ah Chung laughed “Farfetched. But who’s to stop you from dreaming?” at his booming voice, the Hung Hing guys began to surround the Tigers.

“Want to put my fist where your mouth is?” Ryan challenged as he stepped forward.

“Sure, I haven’t had my exercise.” Ah Chung peeled off his leather jacket.

Doug stepped over to Ah Chung and placed a hand on his shoulder “Don’t play too rough.” He turned his eyes to Ryan “We don’t want to start war.”

“I know, Doug Gor.” Ah Chung replied. Although the warning was meant for Ryan, Ah Chung took it to the heart as he rolled his neck to relax it.

Sum Gor nodded to Ryan “On Chai.” He walked over “Give it all you have.”

“Yes, Sum Gor.” Ryan agreed. He turned to his opponent as the circle had enlarged. Nodding to Ah Chung, he raised a hand “Loser’s first.”

Ah Kiu rolled her eyes “All for a girl.” She turned her back and walked through the crowd that was building up to see a fight. Doug noticed her pushing her way through the back exit as he nodded Jenna, who agreed that he should follow Ah Kiu.

“Hey!” he caught up with her when she was in the alley “What did I tell you about leaving on your own?”

She sighed “It’s just ridiculous to have two gangs fighting over a girl.”

He sensed her jealousy “You know the girl is you, right?”

Ah Kiu turned her eyes up strangely as she pointed to the bar “But…they were saying…Jen?”

“Nope, it’s not about Jen. That’s just a cover up. Sum Gor really wants to dig into our brains. If he wins this fight, then he will have the balls to show up his face again and again until he gets a hold of you. He’s just using Jen as an excuse to fight with us. I mean, why would a Dai Lou care about one of his boy losing a girl?” He reasoned “Women are like clothing, you can change it anytime.”

“You’re not like that.” Ah Kiu admired.

Doug felt his face flushed “Let’s go back and see how the fight is going.”

Ryan took a punch into the gut. He sucked in the pain and took a few steps back. The guys were chanting for them to continue. Ah Chung felt victorious as he took another shot at Ryan. Jenna winced painfully when he took a punch in the face “Stop!” she finally screamed to stop everything. She balled her fists together to calm her nerves, she couldn’t bear to see him get hurt “Ah Chung, this isn’t necessary.”

“It’s okay, I’m winning.” He whispered.

She smiled “I know but Doug said not to cause anymore trouble.”

Doug made it through the center when he saw Ryan hugging his face, Ben had retrieve him to Sum Gor’s side “Give up so soon?” Doug mocked.

He was about to say something else when one of his guys rushed in looking flustered. He whispered something making Sum Gor’s facial expression change “You’re lucky I have better things to do. Let’s go!” he glared at Doug before leaving with his gang.

“I wonder why he left so soon?” Ah Kiu said out loud.

“As long as he’s gone.” Doug sighed.

Ah Kiu nodded to Jenna “You should take her home. Ah Chung will watch me.” She smiled when Doug looked ready to decline “I’ll be here until you come back.”

“Okay.” Doug nodded as he took Jenna’s hand automatically and walked her out.

Ah Chung knew better “Siu Jei, why don’t you want Doug Gor to help you?”

“I don’t want him to know of my past.” She whispered and nodded him to the back room where a small office stood “Did you get his info?”

“Yeah, you were right, he was a captain for the Beijing police department in the past five years.” Ah Chung began after closing the door “Full name Daniel Wong. He joined the force at a ripe age of 21 and has been moving up ever since.”

Ah Kiu nodded “So he recognized me.”

“It was just a small felony, you think he would chase you all the way down here?” Ah Chung knew her worries were ruining her sweet background in Doug’s eyes. Obviously everyone knew she had a crush on Doug.

“I don’t know but I don’t want him to blackmail me, now that he knows who I am.” She turned to Ah Chung “Dig up any dirt you can on this guy. Two can play at this game.”

“Yes, Siu Jei.” He agreed.
