Chapter 1

"tracks.

He could hear it coming. The noise was deafening. That railway train. It was coming. Again. The lights shone in his face. No, he shouldn't be standing on the tracks. He hesitated as his hands flew to his face to shield his eyes from that blinding light. As the roar of the train grew louder, he made no move to get out of its way. He wasn't thinking anymore. All that was in his mind was a constant grey whir. The train chugged its way towards him and started sounding its horn.

He felt someone pull him to the side but he wasn't sure who. He was alive. But he wished he wasn't. He was living in a world of misery and agony. Why was he even born into this world in the first place? Why must that person save him everytime he stood on the tracks? The tracks. Yes, the tracks. But... Why was he on the tracks? He clutched his head as he desperately tried to recall the many incidents that had happened. He wanted to ask why. Why did he..? Why was he..? And who was the person who saved him? He had a faint feeling that the person was a girl. She... Saved him so many times yet he still didn't know who she was. Who was she? And... Who was he?

He didn't know. Or... Did he not want to know?

------------------------------------------------------------

She wasn't sure if he knew how he felt towards her. But that song... That song... The song he asked her to listen to. It said so much. So much that she could actually feel him telling her all that. If only she was the girl in the song and he sang it to her. She didn't know what to think of it. Was he trying to tell her something? Something... Or maybe it was just another track that he liked. Yeah, just... Just another track...

------------------------------------------------------------

The tracks were just too nice for him not to listen to. He wondered how people could sing so well, compose such nice tracks. And the lyrics. They were so... Touching. They were just too similar... Too similar to his life. He laughed silently. How could the tracks be about his life? He and the lyricist were worlds apart. He was just another ordinary guy on the streets. While the lyricist... Was so popular and had such amazing skills for composing and song-writing. He sighed.

------------------------------------------------------------

She was listening to the tracks as well. And so was he. But she didn't know that. The same track at the same time. She was totally ignorant of the fact because she didn't know him. They were so different... Yet so alike. She knew all the lyrics to the tracks like the back of her palm. Just like he did. The lyrics fitted into her life. They were like jigsaw pieces that pieced together to make her life. Everything they said. Was how she felt.

If only he and she could meet each other... Perhaps, just perhaps, they could be the missing pieces to each others' lives...

------------------------------------------------------------

But he and she were different. They were not only missing pieces of a jigsaw. They made up the whole jigsaw puzzle. It wouldn't be complete without either of them. But when was he going to realize that? How she hoped it could be sooner. But he just couldn't find the key. The key to open his heart to her. Maybe it's in the tracks.
