"I... Need time to consider. I'm sorry Lun..." With that Xuan abandoned a disappointed Lun on the beach and ran away.
Lun sighed as he clapped the little box close and stood up. He looked at the box for awhile, thinking of all the good times he shared with Xuan, and the bad too. Then he stuffed it back into his pocket and went home.

Xuan was confused. Yes, yes, yes. She did love him. But that wasn't the main problem. She would have said yes if it wasn't for the time when he was so pissed off with her.
But.. What if the baby's his? Then she would regret forever if she said no.
Then.. If the baby's Zhe's.. Then.. What would Lun say? It's not her fault, not his either.
=Oh God this is driving me crazy.=

During the time when Xuan had not replied yet, Lun tried all kinds of things to keep himself occupied so he would not think of Xuan. And nothing worked, of course. All the time he could only think of Xuan, Xuan and more Xuan. And her decision of course.

In the meantime, Jiafeng (if you remember him) was growing up quickly. His mom was quite happy of course. Though his dad couldn't be there to take care of them, his mom had already lived so many years without him, she could live a few more. No, many more, for Jiafeng.
She wouldn't die without seeing her elder son one more time too. She wanted to see him so much, so much. She missed him like crazy, but she wasn't sure if he felt the same as well.
One day she would tell Jiafeng that he had a brother. A real brother. Same parents, only different surname. His brother was a Chou, because at that time, he still followed his father's surname.
She wondered how it would be when Jiafeng and his brother finally meet each other. Would it be a happy scene or one filled with deep hatred? She hoped it would be the former but she couldn't help thinking that the two brothers would lash out at each other.
"Jiafeng.. Jiafeng.. What would you do if you knew you had a brother?" She asked a sleeping Jiafeng. Then she sighed.

Lun's cell beeped. He immediately snatched it up. He had been this anxious since the day he proposed. Everyday he would be waiting for Xuan to call, message or anything. Just a reply from Xuan. He never got one.
As he flipped his cell open, his heartbeat increased. It was thumping in his ears again as he wished the message was from Xuan.
"Lun, I need to see you at After5 today. At 7."
Lun almost jumped up in overwhelming elation. He replied, "Okay."

Lun was there before 7. In fact, he had been there since 6:30pm. He had his hair gelled up and he had the ring in his pocket.
=This is it. This is the day I've been waiting for. That is, if she says Yes. And I seriously hope she will.=
When he saw Xuan coming through the doors, Lun caught his breath. Thump-thump-thump.
Lun immediately stood up to pull her chair.
"Thanks." She mumbled.
There was a long silence after they had ordered their food. Apparently no one was going to start a conversation. Lun's heart sank.
"Actually, Lun.."
Lun was startled when Xuan suddenly started talking.
"Yeah?"
"I've thought about a lot of things these few weeks. I know we've been through a lot. I couldn't have done without your help, I know. But there are some things that I can't forgive you for doing to me."
Lun's heart skipped a beat and nodded while Xuan continued.
"I know you regret your actions, but there are some things that can't be undone. I hope you know that.. So.. I have decided that.."
