"Zaizai! Can you say something? You're scaring me!"
But Zai continued staring into space, her two eyes blank and devoid of emotions. The same scene kept repeating itself over and over in her mind.
"Zai, I'm your uncle."
"Zai, I'm your uncle."
"Zai, I'm your uncle."
"Zai, I'm your uncle." ... ...
=NO! It can't be!= Her heart screamed. It refused to believe that this perfect guy she had met and fallen in love with was her uncle. But her brain snarled back angrily at it. =He IS my uncle. He's my dad's brother. No, I can't fall in love with him... No, I can't...= Then her heart wailed again. =But I love him. Why can't I be with him? Why? Why...=

Joe's penetrating stare burned right through her. For the first time in years, not even when she loved Wei, she felt something in her stir. The last time she had this feeling was when she was with her first love.
En stared back as she waited for what he was going to say. He had never known her gaze was so intense. Ever since the first time he saw her, he knew there was something different about this girl. But he didn't think much of his feelings then, because this girl was his brother's girlfriend. Now this girl was his brother's lawfully wedded wife.
She looked more closely at him. She had never realized this ex-jailbird was actually quite attractive. That small mouth, luscious lips, beautiful eyes, floppy hair with the brown tint... Damn is he hot.
Joe snapped out of the trance first. He cleared his throat, trying to pretend nothing much really happened.
En looked away.
Nothing much really happened. Yeah, nothing happened physically but it was the invisible exchange of silent thoughts and desires that drove the guilt deeper into both of them.

"Oh my God." Lun muttered.
The woman slowly stood up and walked towards Lun. "Jie Lun? My Jie Lun?"
He wanted so much to hate her. But the moment he saw her, everything in the past didn't seem to matter anymore. "Mom."
-----------------------------------------------------------
Without saying anything at all, the two embraced.
"You know, I've always loved you..." Wei managed to say despite his trembling voice.
"Yes. I know... I know. I always knew... I'm sorry..."
"I'm sorry too..."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Shuwei?"
"Erm, yeah?"
"What was it were you trying to say?"
"OH." =Yeah I was supposed to tell her. But then she's married. I can't do that to my brother, can I?= After a moment of hesitation, Joe finally said, "I wanted to ask you if you need a drink."
En was disbelieving, but still she said, "Sure. Why not?"
Joe smiled and got up, heading to the vending machine. But when he turned the bend, he almost fell back in shock from what he saw. At that moment he realized that he didn't have to come up with that crap about having to buy a drink at all. He about-turned and walked purposely back to where he came from.
"Qiao En." That was all he said before his arms were wrapped around En and his lips were on hers.

The last words Chou-sir said were to Lun. Of the brothers, he had let Lun down the most. "Xiao Lun... I let you down... I'm sorry... Please... Forgive me-"
Like the hatred he felt for his mother, Lun wanted to hate him, but then he looked at the weak man lying on the hospital bed, the heavily-wrinkled face, the many wisps of white hair. And Lun suddenly knew, that all along his father had loved him, and that his inability to be there for him was because of the demands of his work. The danger of the nature of his work did not allow him to be with his family because he did not want them to be at risk. Everything he had done was for them. He left because he wanted them to be safe.
"Dad... I have already forgiven you... ..." Lun whispered into his father's ears. Though he had already gone, Lun had a feeling that he would hear.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Joe Zhang Shuwei, Sam Chang Shanwei, Jay Chou Jie Lun and Li Jia Feng stood in a circle facing each other. Their lives were so closely related, yet they never knew each other till now.
