It was just a dream... A... A nightmare... Lun thought. Lin... How much he missed her.
Just as Lun was floating into daydreams of Lin, his cellphone suddenly rang.
Scratching his head in confusion, Lun looked at the digital clock next to his bed. 09:01:27 Saturday. Nope, he wasn't dreaming. It was Saturday. Which means he didn't need to go to work. Which means he couldn't be late for work. So... Who was calling him?
Still in much of a daze, Lun pulled open his cellphone.
"Hello?"
"Hey... Jay. It's me, Jiaxuan..."
"Xuan?" Lun echoed, his expression was puzzled. Why would Xuan call him so early in the morning? Besides, Xuan sounded scared. But of what?
"Yeah... Er..."
"Yes, Xuan? Anything wrong?"
"Actually... Er..." Xuan looked around. "There's someone outside my door... He's been standing around for a long time..."
"Huh? A weird fella? Then call the police..." Lun said, wondering why Xuan called him instead of the police. He definitely wasn't one.
"But... But..."
"Xuan? Are you okay?"
"I guess so... But..."
"Yeah?"
"I think the guy's Jason..."
"Jason..?"
"He's my ex..."
"WHAT?"

"But... After... After I go, you... You must... Take care of Jiaxuan... She... She's too vulnerable... To the outside world..." Lin's words flashed in Lun's mind as he drove to Xuan's house. Lun could feel the threat of tears, so he hurriedly tried to blink them away.
As the radio played "Ni zhen me lian hua dou shuo bu qing chu" (translate: why didn't you speak more clearly?) , Lun couldn't help but thinking, was he doing this for Lin? Or was he just doing it just for Xuan?
Lin had been gone for so long and since then Xuan had been taking over his heart a little by little. Lun knew he was starting to love her, but somehow he still couldn't forget Lin. Everything she did for him, all the love she gave him. And most importantly, he still hadn't found the key. Lin's diary wasn't locked with any ordinary lock. Besides, Lun wanted to open it with the key he used his own intelligence to find. The tracks? Lun still couldn't figure out what it was...

"Xuan? I'm now below your flat. I'm still in my car. But since you say there's someone outside your door, I think it's not a good idea for me to enter by the front door..."
"Yeah, you're right... Er... Actually there's a fire door at the back... Just go to the staircase that says fire escape. It leads to my back door."
"Okay... Wait a minute." Lun looked up the building. "YOU WANT ME TO CLIMB 25 FLOORS?!"

"Xuan..." Lun rapped on the fire door. "Open the door..." Lun's hand was stuck to the wall as he tried to sit on the floor, to catch his breath.
On hearing Lun's voice, she immediately ran to the door to open it. "Jay!"
Lun was practically unable to move and all he could do was sit on the floor in one heap.
"Jay!" Xuan tried to help him into her house. "Jay, are you all right?"
Lun slumped down in the sofa.
"I'm sorry Jay..."
"It's okay..." Lun said. For you, it's worth it... Lun thought. Besides, it's also my promise to Lin...
Xuan blushed. "You need a drink or somethin'?"
"Er... Okay..."
Lun sighed. Was he doing this for Lin? Himself? Or Xuan? It was obvious that Xuan loved him but... What about Lin? Would he be doing the right thing if he just told her he also loved her? Or would it be unfair to Lin?
"Promise me you'll be happy..." "I promise..."
Lun frowned. Was Lin trying to tell him that time that he should go find himself a new love after she left? He promised to be happy.
"Jay? Jay..?"
"Sorry... I was thinking about L... I mean, nothing..."
Xuan smiled. "Never mind... Here, your drink."
"Thanks."
Seeing Xuan smile, Lun knew the answer to his question. Yeah, he wasn't doing it just for Lin, nor for himself.
He was doing it, just for Xuan. Because she was worth it.
