A man catches their attention as his long hair falling down covering on the side of his eyes. He had a charisma, attracting them as he caught their breath. It was someone that looked extraordinary. His look was just like a foreigner and especially attractive in appeal.
They walked over to him, asking for his number.
Like this, the friendship started. The sisters slowly saw another side of the man. At the appeal look of him, they saw a soft and gentle of him. It was his kindness and caring personnel attracted them so much. Soon enough, the man had chosen one of them as his girlfriend, his lover.
A journey started. Storms and thunder rides the tides and waves. A very unseeingly girl whom had been just an ordinary looking person of a small town was attached with someone well known in town. She had caught his eyes on her and nonetheless, he had chosen her over the glamorous looking girls he would seen in pubs and the cities he had been.
A village girl with a city man walked in hands for four years through her school life. They might last if quarrels didn't enter and if the guy's family didn't threw the objection of them being together. Fights entered into the picture. Everyone in his family detested her existence; they were annoyed by her attitude. Those unseeingly introvert character whom always keeping everything to herself. She wore a black face whenever she would visit the family with him. Every met would become a disaster. Slowly, she decided not to visit them anymore.
However, things didn't end it that way. She would pick up fights with him even just verbal communication. Even the smallest things she could pick on him and let alone those big fights regarding of his family. She never sees the compromising for a relationship. She wants him to hear her voice-out but never lending her ear to him. Ending the relationship on rashness was her usual before they would patch back because of her crying. The guy was just too kind to let her go and let her suffer in that deep and dark bottomless pit.
After the four long years down the road, he would expect she would change at least a bit for him. He would positively think that she would compromise with him. He would think that the endless arguments would end once marriage comes into the picture. He had put in the effort and never had been trying so much to find a balance in a relationship. It was four years of him staying with a girl and he thought that everything would soon turn positively for him, for her and the family.
"Let's get engaged." She proposed after she had graduated from school, "No... let's sign the papers instead."
With those simple words of suggestion to get married, the man whom worked across another country took an eight-hour ride home to get married. He acknowledged her as his wife under the papers with his mother and her father's approval.
However, the storm didn't end. His father was kept in the dark only until the protruding stomach of hers was unacceptable for him to carry on covering it from his father. Him decided to confess it to his father.
"Did you take me as your Father?!" His father was mad, furious at his son's rash decision. He was angry at how his son had never taken a serious thought about it before entering the marriage with her.
As marriage enters, she bored him the first child. Ever since then, she had stayed at home taking care of their son while he would work overseas for better job opportunity and sending them money every month when he got his pay. Slowly, the cold war between her and his family started. She chooses to stay at her own house when they had asked her to move over. She had been reluctant to bring the son to see the grandparents. Soon enough the relationship between them got worst. Everyone was on their own sides standing firmly, fighting with one another. It was a total mess every time he would go back and visit them. He would be blamed for everything and be forced to make a choice between his family and her.
It lasted three years. Three years he had never seen the smile on his face. When they found her pregnant the second time, he was on the verge of leaving her already. However it seems like god had played a trick on him. Hopeless for what had turned into an endless falling pit for him, he decided to step out from the war. Slowly the feelings had faded away, the emotions were worn off and he had her left his heart permanently. His hatred grew before it faded away as he sees her like a stranger, like someone whom only linked to him because of his two dearest sons.
At his trip back home again to see his sons, he took that eight-hour ride again back to his hometown. This time he smiled even how she would pick up fights on him. He ignored her words as his eyes could only sees his two sons.
"Is this Big Sister pretty?" His finger pointed at the lady in the screen of his laptop while he hugged his elder son in his arms.
The watery and big innocent pair of eyes smiled while he nodded to his father before he looked back at the lady in the picture.
One of the nights during the holiday trip, she went down to the mattress that he would sleep beside the queen-size bed which lies of her and his two sons. Tapping at his shoulder as she asked, "I want it."
Being awakened from the tapping, he turned around and looked at her. His eyes were cold from her 'request' before he replied her, "I am already used to not doing it for years."
He rejected her for the first time that caught her in surprise. He had never been that cold even she would yell or pick up fights with him for no reasons. He had always been that compromising party and giving in to her but...
"You.. got a-another woman outside??" Her suspicions rose while she waited for the answer.
"Yes and I love her." He admitted before he turned his back facing her and continued his sleep.
Her eyes met the sourness from the words he had said. She breathed in deeply; trying her might to catch the courage before she would went back lying beside the sons. Sniffing silently as she was afraid of waking the sons up, she cried. Cried for the lost of her in his heart. Cried for the man she had been with for eight years ever since they were together. Cried for the marriage that was broken and cried for what she had expected but never want it to come.
He slept on his side. She slept on the other side. Two people that were close enough were seen unseeingly distant now.
He was tired and run out of effort to give in. It was a broken marriage and a choice that he regretted. However it had turn a one way down, unable to return to the past like a re-winding recorder.
It was the girl he had in his mind that encouraged him further. He closed his eyes, thinking of her while his wife was here. 'I'm coming back soon.' The smile drew on his face before he falls into a deep sleep, hoping to see her in his dream...
