I picked up my phone immediately. Ella stared at me curiously wondering who might on the other line.
“Hello?”
“Chun, is me, Calvin.”
“Sorry Calvin, I’m not in a mood to chat right now, next time okay!”
“Hold on Chun. You are looking for Hebe, right?”
“How do you know? Is Hebe at your place now? Let me talk to her.” I wailed at him furiously.
“Hey, take it easy buddy. I just want to inform you Hebe is alright, and she will be staying with Selina at my places for a few days. The rest is up to her to decide later.”
“Sorry for putting my anger on you…please let me talk to her. No matter how many times I called, she won’t answer my call.”
“She is sleeping now. Just let her stay here to clear up her mind. Don’t push thing too far. She looked worse with her swollen eyes. I bet she cried a lot last night.”
“I’m so regret that I caused her to suffer a lot of pains. She must really hate me now.”
“I’m not the right person to comment anything now. Whatever that happened between the two of you, you have to settle with her for real. But apparently she is not ready to face you yet. You just need to wait.”
“Thanks Calvin.”
“I’m happy if I could help you to save your marriage. Don’t worry too much and stop blaming yourself, I know you didn’t mean to hurt her, right?”
“I love her and I always want the best for her. It was my mistake to put my anger on her last night.”
“Okay, I believe you, but the most important is to make Hebe believes you.”
“Can I see her now? I just wanted to tell her that I’m sorry.”
“I think it’s not a good idea for you to come over now. I mean Selina is still mad at you for hurting Hebe. I bet you don’t want to come now to get a scolding from her. Maybe you should let her cool down first. Besides, she won’t let you see Hebe unless you seek forgiveness from Hebe and agree to let her work or else Hebe will continue to stay at my place. You get what I mean, right?”
“Yeah, I understand. I guess I’ll let her cool down first.”
“Okay, I’ll inform you of Hebe’s condition later. Bye.”
“Bye.”

Ella’s POV
I was waiting for Chun to tell me everything of his conversation with Calvin. I saw the hurt in his eyes. He remained silent and sat on the couch. I walked over to him and seated next to him.
“Chun, what did Calvin said to you? Is Hebe alright?”
He covered his face with his hands. Suddenly I saw him broke down in tears. I never saw a man cried before in my life. I felt hurt and confused.
“Chun, sshhh…don’t cry…”
All of a sudden, he hugged me and cried on my shoulder. Nonetheless, I didn’t push him away this time. I soothed him and told him that everything would be alright. I patted his back like a mother comforting her children and we stayed in this position for half an hour, I thought so.
“Ella, can you accompany me for a drink?”
“Okay.” I didn’t know why I agreed with him, but I just can’t bear to leave him alone like that. I knew I need to be by his side to encourage him and helped him with all the way I can.

Hebe’s POV
I opened my eyes and scanned every corner of the room. I wasn’t in my room. Suddenly I remembered. I was at Selina’s house. How long I had been sleeping? I turned to the alarm clock on the table. It was nearly eight o’clock at night.
I stepped down from the bed and walked to the door. I opened the doorknob and headed downstairs. There was nobody at the living room, but I heard noises coming from the kitchen.
I stood at the kitchen entrance and saw Calvin was hugging Selina from behind while Selina was busy preparing the dinner on the dining table. Selina spotted me standing there and gave me a warm smile.
“Hey Hebe, you’re awake. I thought I want to wake you up later when I finished preparing everything.”
“It’s okay Selina, need my help?”
“Nope, all is done. Come here, take a seat. We can have our dinner now.”
“Wow, you cook a lot of food tonight and it looks delicious. Vegetables, fried meat balls, steamed fish, curry chicken and mushroom soup. You’re really a great cook”
“Thanks Hebe. So, you must help us to finish the food okay!”
“No problem Selina, besides you got someone to help you too, right Calvin?”
“Hehe, of course…”
The three of us laughed happily. At least I tried my best not to think about Chun at the moment. I didn’t mad at him any longer, but I still afraid to face him and talk about us, our life and our future. Is there a future for us? I really not dare to think about that. Sometimes it made me wondered does he still love me like the way before we were married. But what if his heart had changed? Will I be able to take it and leave him? I’m not sure and I just hoped that this day would never come…
After dinner, I offered to help Selina to wash the dishes and clean up the kitchen. Initially she didn’t allow me, but I insisted her to let me do it. She had no choice but agreed to it. Both of us were in the kitchen while Calvin had already gone upstairs to take his bath.

Calvin’s POV
I stepped out from the bathroom and climbed on our bed. Selina was sitting at the side of the bed looking nervously at me and bitting her bottom lips.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” I hugged her and planted a kiss on her lips.
“I want to sleep with Hebe tonight. After what she had been through, I couldn’t let her to be alone. I’m worried that she might do stupid things to herself.”
“Relax…I believe Hebe is a strong woman. Don’t need to worry too much.” I continued to have her cuddled in my arm. “You can go and accompany her. Don’t worry about me. I will survive these few days.” I teased her playfully.
“Thanks. I love you so much.”
“Yeah, I love you too.” I held her tightly and kissed her softly, but soon a short peck turned into a long passionate kiss.
“Goodnight Cal.” Selina giggled and walked away with her pillow to Hebe’s room.
