Michelle pulled up next to her sister and fumed, "This stupid asshole ran a red light, and I kinda t-boned him.” You could practically see smoke coming out of her ears.
“Are you ok at least?!” Niki looked up and asked worriedly.
“Ya I’m fine. Luckily I stepped on the brakes in time. If it wasn’t for the idiot’s friend, I never woulda known he ran a red light and things would have gotten pretty ugly,” Michelle said, cracking a small smile but then that smile soon contorted into a frown, “But I did lose $500 bucks though. The loser assumed I knew nothing about cars and tried to rob me for a thousand bucks! That jackass puts the 'ron' in moron.”
They all laughed at that comment.
“Did you get his name? Is he hot? Was his car nice?” Niki asked curiously.
Michelle rolled her eyes. “I don’t know, he seems like such a butthead for me to care enough to check him out or ask for his name. But his car is pretty nice. Special edition Honda Prelude.”
“Let’s get going girls. I have a meeting in 5 minutes!” Jessica interrupted impatiently.
“Ya, we don’t wanna be late for out first day at work either.” Michelle cried out.
They all ran like crazy into the HKPD station.
“I have to stay here on the main floor for a meeting. What about you girls?” Jessica asked while they were all standing inside the building..
“I’ll go with you, my department is on this floor too,” Niki answered eagerly.
“I’m on the third floor, I’ll see you guys after work,” Michelle said in a tired tone, “meet me later at our vehicles. I know I have to pay for the goddamn drinks.” Michelle smiled sarcastically as she ran towards an open elevator. “Good luck on your first day, Nik. Bye Jess.” Michelle yelled before the elevator door closed.
“You too Mich.” Niki said and blew her sister a kiss. “ I have to go this way,” Niki said pointing to the left side of the building, “I’ll see you later Jess.” Niki quickly gave her sister a quick hug and made a mad dash for her department on the other side.
Jessica smiled and quickly ran to the other end for her meeting, which she was already 5 minutes late for.

A handsome young man in his late twenties in a black Armani suit was standing at the coffee machine putting in coins. He was tired since he stayed up late the night before watching a soccer game. He took out his cup of steaming coffee from the machine and turned around to walk back to his office. Right at that moment, Niki came out of nowhere and bumped into him with full force. No doubt about it, the coffee spilt all over the man’s expensive suit. Since she was already late for her first day at work, Niki didn’t bother to stop to apologize and kept on running.
He yelled, “Watch where you’re going lady.” He was clearly angry,”You’re getting my dry cleaning bill.”
“Cry me a frikkin river, maybe you shouldn’t stand in the middle of the hallway next time. See ya later.” Niki said as she continued running.
“Women these days,” the handsome man said crossly as he ran towards the men’s washroom.

Jessica knocked on the door to where the meeting was held.
An elderly man’s voice came from inside. “Come in.”
“Sorry I’m late, I had some problems at home.” Jessica lied afer closing the door behind her. She recognized Chief Inspector Lee sitting in the front desk, but there was another person standing behind him. He was the typical tall dark and handsome type, but Jessica was too nervous to notice.
“Have a seat,” the Chief instructed, then he continued, “as you know, Captain Yu had resigned to move back to Canada, therefore, we have assigned a new captain to your department.”
Jessica nodded hiding her disappointment. She was expecting to get promoted after the resignation of Captain Yu, but now some fool had taken her spot.
The chief continued, “This is Sir Louis Koo. He will be replacing the position as captain.
Louis nodded at Jessica, who was still quite disappointed so she just let out a small weak smile.
“And this is Madame Au (Hsuan), she will be working directly beneath you,” the Chief cheerfully introduced. Jessica smiled again, anyone could tell it wasn't a genuine smile. Louis looked at her with a cold expression on his face.
“I’ll let you and Louis get to work. You are both dismissed,” Chief Inspector Lee exclaimed.
They both left the Chief’s office and took the elevator up to the second floor where their office were. The elevator ride was awkwardly silent. At the second floor, Jessica followed Louis into his office.
“I have decided to take a different approach to solve the cases you and your people are following. Have the files in my office in ten minutes.” Louis commanded, settling down onto his leather swivel chair.
“Yes Sir.” Jessica replied with a snobby tone.
“And Madame Au (Hsuan), is it? I expect all the people working under me to be on time for every meeting.” Louis said coldly and forcefully while reading through a mountain of files piled high on his desk. He didn’t even bother to look up.
“Yes Sir!” Jessica replied, I little bit too loudly. She made her way towards the door. Jessica had the urge to slam it, but she didn’t want trouble. ‘This new captain needs to pull the stick out of his ass,’ Jessica thought to herself as she made her way to her office.
Louis smiled and shook his head, ‘this girl is going to be quite hard to control’ he thought to himself. ‘But she sure is pretty...’

Meanwhile, Vicki was sitting on the park bench reading the morning newspaper and the little pug she was taking care of for a friend was rolling around in the grass beside her. Suddenly, a little kitten ran past the pug. It went crazy and started chasing after the little cat. Vicki quickly stood up and ran after the pug screaming, “Alec, you stupid puppy, come back here!”
A cute young man was doing his early morning jog in the park when he suddenly saw a kitten being chased by a little dog. He smiled to himself and continued jogging.
“Alec, wait for me.” Vicki huffed and puffed while continuing to run after the puppy.
‘Who’s calling my name?’ The young man thought to himself. He quickly turned around and saw the most beautiful girl he has seen in his life running towards him. ‘Whoaaa, she’s gorgeous but I don’t remember seeing her before. How does she know my name?’ Alec thought happily but was a little confused.
He stopped jogging and looked at Vicki who was still running towards him. Alec expected her to stop and talk to him but instead, she pushed him out of the way and continued running. He just stood there surprised with eyes wide open, after all, she did call his name and she sounded quite desperate and urgent.
Vicki finally caught up to the little pug and scooped it up in her arms. “Alec, you little rascal, don’t you ever scare me like that again. Joey would kill me if I lost you!” The pug licked her face as she hugged it tightly.
Alec chuckled when he finally realized the dog and him shared the same name. He was kinda embarrassed because he assumed that Vicki was chasing after him and he almost ran after her. Luckily he didn’t or it'll be completely humiliating.
Alec smiled at how cute Vicki looked holding the little pug. ‘If only she would hold me like that’ Alec thought to himself as he continued to stare at Vicki dreamily.
She soon realized there was a person standing there staring at her. Vicki remembered how she sort of pushed him out of the way while chasing after the dog so she walked up to Alec, saying, “Sorry I pushed you before, but I was chasing after my puppy.” Vicki apologized and smiled sweetly.
“That’s ok.” Alec said abruptly, he was to shy to say anything else.
“Well I got to go now or I’m gonna be late for work. Bye, and sorry again!” Vicki said cheerfully as she quickly ran towards her building with the pug in her arms.
Alec just stood there like an idiot, slapping himself on the forehead. He didn’t have the guts to ask for her name and now it was too late. He sighed and looked at his watch, ‘I better be going or I’ll be late too.’ Alec quickly ran out of the park.

Niki ran to the door of her department. On the door, it read “Department of Immigration and Naturalization.”
She looked at her watch and realized she was almost ten minutes late. ‘Oh shit’ she thought to herself as she pushed the door open.
“What took you so long? You were supposed to be here ten minutes ago!” A cute girl around Niki’s age cried while running up to Niki.
“I ran into some dork standing in the middle of the hallway. I had to push him out of the way to get here. Is the Super here yet?” Niki asked, still breathing hard from all that running.
The girl smiled and replied. “No. You’re lucky he’s late too, which is weird cuz he never is.”
“Who cares. Just thank god he didnt get here before me. By the way, Charlene, I’m so glad we’re in the same department,” Niki said excitedly.
She smiled and hooked arms with Charlene. Her and Niki has been best friends since they went to high school together in New York. Charlene moved back to HK earlier this year and got a job at the station. They still keep in contact until today. Niki was so exited when she found out Charlene and her were in the same department.
“Hey Charlene, who’s your friend?” A hot looking guy asked smiling excitedly.
“Shut up or I’ll tell my sister you’re checking out other girls, Edison!” Charlene replied crossly.
“Sorry, don’t have to bring Gillian into this, but your friend is pretty cute.” Edison replied in an intimidated tone.
“Ya, at least we don’t have to look at you all day. I don’t know how Nicholas puts up with you.” Another attractive guy joked.
Everyone knew Charlene was really an attractive girl, but they all loved to tease her because she was the only female in that department. But now that Niki is here, she is like new bait for them to bite on.
“If you don’t shut up right now, Jack, I’ll rip off your family jewel and make you eat it!” Charlene shouted. She was a little potty mouth.
“Calm down Char, they’re just teasing you.” Niki proclaimed, smiling at Jack. She thought he was really cute.
Jack smiled back at her and blushed a little. He knew he was starting to fall for her since his heart was beating twice as fast everytime she smiled at him.
“Ya, you know we’re only bugging. Besides, I don’t want Nicholas to come after my ass,” Edison said a little worried.
“Haha, you better believe it. By the Way Niki, I still have to introduce you to my boyfriend. He works in the same department as Michelle.” Charlene said excitedly. Charlene was also great friends with Michelle.
“Ok, lets all go for drinks after work. Michelle is buying. Haha.” Niki smiled happily.
Charlene nodded and replied, “Let me introduce you to all these bozos. This is Edison Chen, also my sisters boyfriend, I’m pretty sure I told you before. That dude over there is Jack Wu,” Niki smiled upon hearing Jack’s name. Charlene continued to point at two other guys sitting behind their desks, “And over there is Chris Lai and Rico Kwok.” The two young guys smiled. They both thought Niki was quite cute and vice versa. She smiled and waved to everyone. “And this hot young lady is my girl, Niki Au (Chow).” Charlene smiled while Niki playfully punched her in the arm.
Right at that moment a man rushed through the door. “Sorry I’m late, but I had trouble getting here. Some rude girl spilt coffee all over me.” The man explained grumpily.
Niki recognized the man right away. She began to tremble and whispered to Charlene, “Oh my god, that’s the dork that I had to push out of the way to get here.”
Charlene stared at Niki wide eyes and whispered back, “Uhhh Niki, that ‘dork’ is Sir Kevin Cheng, our superintendant!!”
Niki felt her palms getting sweaty. She was so dead now, Karma did indeed exist. Her first day and she already spilt coffee on her boss without apologizing! Niki looked down at her feet.
Kevin soon realized there was a new member standing there since he earlier discovered the Chief had assigned another inspector to his department.
Kevin held out his hand and said brightly, “Welcome, you must be Niki Au (Chow).”
Niki slowly looked up and gave him a weak smile.
Kevin recognized her face instantly. “YOU!” He exclaimed, but he controlled his anger, remembering he was their superior, “Can I see you in my office for a moment please?”
Kevin couldn’t believe his back luck. Niki followed him into the office and shut the door behind her. Everyone knew something was wrong, looking at each other and shrugged.

Michelle was running like the wind. She didn’t want to be late for her first day on the job. She got to her destination and was relieved because the clock hanging on the wall was a few minutes slow compared to her watch. A sweet looking girl who was sitting in a desk looked up and smiled.
“Hi, you must be the new girl. I’m Fiona Sit, but you can call me Fi. Madame Tang’s office is that way.” The girl said sweetly and pointed Michelle into the direction of her superior's office.
Michelle smiled and made her way to the office. She could feel all the eyes fixed on her. Most were from her male co-workers. Michelle was indeed a very attractive girl. She got to the door that read, “Madame Tang-Department Superintendent,” where Michelle politely knocked on the door.
A lady’s voice was heard, saying, “Come in.”
Michelle slowly turned the door knob and walked in. She looked at her soon-to-be boss and thought she was really pretty, kind of young to be in such a high position, but then again, so was her sister, Jessica.
Michelle introduced herself professionally, “Hi, my name is Michelle Au (Yip) and I just transferred here from New York City.”
“I already read your profile and I must say I am very impressed. I’m Madame Tang, but you can call me Joyce outside of work,” she replied with a smile. By the way, are you related to Captain Bobby Au? He’s good friends with my husband Marco.”
Michelle grinned, nodding her head. “Yes, he’s my uncle. And Madame Au (Hsuan), of the Firearms and Expolsive Department, is my sister,” Michelle said proudly.
Joyce smiled and handed Michelle her gun and badge and said in a more serious tone, “I assume you know the rules and responsibility that comes with this?”
Michelle nodded.
Joyce smiled reappeared as she instructed, “Come with me, I’ll introduce you to your co-workers.”
Michelle followed her outsidd where Joyce clapped her hands together and announced, “Can I have your attention everyone, this is Michelle, she will be joining our team.”
Everyone's eyes lit up, and they all smiled at Michelle. She felt pretty welcomed.
Joyce continued the introduction, “And Michelle, these are your co-workers, Fiona Sit, Bosco Wong, and Nicholas Tse.”
Fiona smiled at Michelle, Bosco waved and gave her and wink, and Nicholas nodded his head curtly. Her co-workers looked pretty friendly.
“We have two more people on our team, but they’re always late.” Fiona said with a worried smile.
Right at that moment, the door was kicked open and two men walked in sweating and panting.
“Sorry madame, but we got into a car accident along the way.”
Michelle quickly recognized the man that just spoke. It was the moron who she crashed into earlier. Michelle could feel her luck turning bad.
‘So much for nice co-workers’ she thought to herself. Karma was at work again.
“No more excuses, I've heard enough of them,” Joyce replied, annoyed at Ron's excuse. This wasn’t the first time Ron is late.
“But he’s telling the truth, I was in the car with him.” Sammul defended.
Sam was too terrified to notice Michelle, but Ron looked over in her direction and yelled out, “You're that devil woman who crashed into me!!”
Everyone quickly turned their head to look at Michelle, who shot back, “You’re the moron who ran the red light!” She reminded him.
Michelle looked over at Sammul for back-up and that was when he realized it was the girl of his dream standing next to Joyce. He just stood there with a goofy expression and nodded timidly.
Ron was about to yell back, when Joyce exploded, “Enough! Personal issues should be dealt with out side of work! Bosco, show Michelle to her desk...” Bosco obeyed and led Michelle to her cubicle. She walked past Ron and glared at him.
“Stupid asshole ruins everything.” Michelle whispered beneath her breath enough for only Ron to hear.
Ron was about to make a comeback when Joyce interrupted, “Ron this is your last chance, if you are late again I will file a report,” she said impatiently, "and Sammul, dont mimic Ron's bad habbits."
“Yes Madame!” Both Ron and Sammul said at the same time.
Michelle grinned to her deviously. She was glad Ron got in trouble.
Joyce disappeared into her office and Ron walked towards his desk which was, unfortunately, right across from Michelle’s.
