Chapter 31

Proposal

The two couples finally decided to go watch a movie before lunch and then eat out. When they arrived in front of the theatre, they chose the most romantic movie and went inside. Buying the seats that were at the last rows, the two couples sneaked into the movie. Changmin and Yoochun held tightly onto their girlfriends' hands and seated themselves. They purposely sat 5 seats apart from each other to have their own privacy.

Changmin wouldn't let go of Soo Kyung's hand and it was starting to annoy her since his grip was so tight.

"Minnie, you're hurting my hands," she whispered into his ears.

He turned to face her and smiled. "I'm afraid of letting go of you. I don't ever want to live without you, ever again."

"Haha, I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere, now-"he didn't let her finish her sentence.

"Shh..,"he said, putting his index finger onto her lips and later replaced them with his own lips. Soo Kyung got shocked at his sudden behaviour.

"Three years without you was hell, I don't ever want to leave you again. And please promise me you won't leave me. I know I was wrong to have treated you like that, leaving you there with Kibum that day. I'm sorry," he apologized.

Events that occurred years ago that day in Hawaii played back in her mind. She stared into space, not wanting to remember them again. Changmin noticed her facial expression and found out how much he had hurt her back then. He could not resist but to embrace her in his arms and stroke her back.

"It's okay, that was history. I'm so sorry, sorry," he said barely above a whisper. Soo Kyung hugged his waist tightly and a tear fell down from her cheek.

Yoochun and Yoona saw the two and smiled. They felt happy for them since their friends had made up too. Looking at them, they turned back to each other and smiled. Yoona's sparkling eyes met Yoochun's and they leaned in, forehead to forehead.

"I love you," they said at once and Yoona giggled.

"I love you too," they said again. Yoochun smiled and cupped her face with his hands and kissed her softly. The kiss later turned into a passionate one. They were not the only ones kissing passionately, Soo Kyung and Changmin were next. They were all very happy, united with their most loved ones.

Obviously, they did not watch the movie, they were too into each other that they had no idea what was going on in there. Finally it ended and they filed outside of the theatre.

"Oppa, I'm hungry," Yoona leaned onto Yoochun's shoulders, playing with his hand. He smiled foolishly.

"Okay, why don't we go eat now?" he suggested and they went to one of the many restaurants on the streets.

The waitress came to take their order. They asked how big each meal were and the waitress told them that each plate is quite huge. Soo Kyung looked around at other tables and saw that each plate was as big as mixing bowl. Her eyes grew wide. She wouldn't be able to finish one herself.

Noticing her facial expression, Changmin leaned in and said, "We can eat one plate together, what do you want to eat?"

Yoochun and Yoona did the same, follow suiting the other pair. When their orders arrived, their plates were flaming hot. Changmin and Soo Kyung ordered seafood fried rice and Yoochun and Yoona ordered spaghetti, along with lime and raspberry sodas.

Yoona was so hungry that she grabbed the fork and ate first. Realizing how hot it was when it reached her tongue, she yelped out loud, startling Yoochun. "I thought so, didn't you see that it was steaming hot? Here, let me help you."

He blew the spaghetti from the fork with his mouth softly. "Here, eat this," he said, stretching out his hand to her mouth. Yoona smiled and ate.

"Thank you oppa," she said.

"Oooohh, aigoo, we're getting disgusted," Changmin and Soo Kyung teased. They haven't started eating since the two in front of them were so funny and lovely to watch.

"As if you two aren't like that!" they fought back, eyes jokingly glaring at them sideways. The other two laughed.

"Who said we aren't like that," Changmin said and took a spoon full of rice and did the same as Yoochun.

"Aahh, Kyunggie, open your mouth, let me feed you," he said. Soo Kyung giggled and opened her mouth.

"Minnie, you're so sweet," she said, playfully hitting his arm.

"Now who's disgusting!" Yoochun said. They grinned at him.

"Oppa, let's show them a better version," Yoona suggested.

"Alright," Yoochun said and started acting sweet and cute to her. She played back with him.

As they ate their lunch, they were competing to who was the mushier couple. Laughing, they stepped out of the restaurant, couples hand in hand. The owner was relieved, they created a lot of noise while they were there.

"Kyunggie, I will send you to your house now, I have to go somewhere," Changmin started. She pouted.

"You're just spending half of the day with me?" she asked. He kissed her cheek, not being able to resist her pout.

"I'm picking you up again for dinner tonight," he said.

"Dinner? Where?" she asked.

"Dress beautiful okay? I'll pick you up by 7," he said and drove her home.

Yoochun and Yoona went back to Yoochun's apartment.

The ride home was pretty silent. Changmin was thinking about his plan and Soo Kyung was wondering what he was thinking about. 'Why did he want to rush me home?' she thought.

When they arrived home, he walked her to the doorstep and kissed her cheek softly. Soo Kyung gazed at her boyfriend who was still cute even though he's old. She pulled his cheeks side to side and smiled.

"I love you so much," she said. Changmin caressed her round cheeks.

"Remember, I'll pick you up at 7, okay? Wear something nice," he said leaning in. They said their goodbyes and she went into her house.

Mr. Kim was on the couch watching T.V while Mrs. Kim was washing the dishes. "Back so early?" he asked.

"Yea, but I'm going out again tonight at 7," she said.

"With Changmin?" he asked.

"Of course, who else would it be?" she said and went up to her room. She wonders what he meant by 'something nice'. She called for her mom and told her about it.

"Is he planning to marry you?" her mom asked.

"Hmmn..I don't think so, we just met like a few weeks ago," she answered.

"But why would he want you to dress nice?" she said. "Anyways, I'll go shopping with you, buy a nice new dress, come, let's go!" She dragged her daughter and set out for the mall.

After 3 hours of shopping, they finally got a strapless black dress. It was the most beautiful thing Soo Kyung had ever seen.

Her hair had grown and now it was below her chest. She made bangs at the end and she looked pretty. With clear lip gloss and matching high heels, she stepped out of her room and down the stairs. It was 5 minutes before 7.

'Ding-dong' the bell rang. Soo Kyung started to get excited. She went to open the door.

"Wahh..." she exclaimed. Changmin looked so handsome tonight. With his black suit, he was the star of the night. His hair was cut short, black and the ends at the front were slightly gelled to the left.

He stared at her, top to bottom, eyes almost popping out, but he held his on to his affection.

"You look very pretty tonight," he said, stretching out his hands to her. She grabbed his hands and he softly held onto her palm. "You are breathtaking." This made Soo Kyung blush uncontrollably

"You look very handsome tonight too, with that suit and the hot body of yours," she commented.

"Hot body?" he teased. He snaked his arm around her waist while she did the same to him. So close, they were walking together, dressed in black. Her parents looked from the window. They were smiling and you can just know by the looks on their faces that they were madly in love with each other.

Changmin drove to a very expensive restaurant. The theme of the restaurant was gold and black. The chairs were silky black with shiny golden tablecloths. Although there were lots of seats available, Soo Kyung saw no customers.

"Minnie, why aren't there anyone in here?" she asked. He bent down to her ears and whispered, "That's because I booked the whole restaurant, honey."

She blushed again, looking down. He lifted up her chin slowly and kissed her lips softly. "Let me seat you down." He pulled the chair of the middle table and motioned for her to sit down, smiling his smile. A waiter came in and pulled the chair for him.

"This looks like a really expensive restaurant," Soo Kyung said.

"Money doesn't matter anymore for this special night," he said, smiling as if there was something he's hiding.

"Hmmn? Special night?" she asked with a confused face.

"Let's order something to eat, shall we? I'm hungry," he changed the subject and looked over the menu. The waiter later took their orders and went into the kitchen. There were guys that were waiting on the side of the walls. Changmin turned to them said something. Seconds later, slow music played in the background.

He smiled at her again looking into her eyes. She shyly smiled back at him.

"Soo Kyung," he called. She looked at him. "You love me right?" She held out her hand from under the table and reached for his.

"Of course," she replied. "I love you." Her eyes were twinkling under the dim lights.

"I love you too," he said and got up. He went near her and got onto his knees.

Soo Kyung got surprised. "Minnie, what are you doing, get up!"

He refused and looked up at her. He cleared his throat and sang 'I Love You'. [It's his solo song from the Rising Sun Showcase.]

As he started the chorus, the lights slowly dimmed and it was so romantic. Soo Kyung cried because of happiness. This man, kneeling in front of her, the man she had always loved was singing a song for her.

~If we meet again, promise me one thing
Let's make our love continuous
So we don't have to say such painful goodbyes ever again... ~

The song ended and the lyrics reminded her of their own story. After the song, Changmin took out a black box from his pocket. He then opened it to reveal a heart shaped diamond ring that shined so brightly. He put on a serious but caring face and looked into her eyes deeply. She gasped.

"Kim Soo Kyung, I know that I am not a perfect man and that I have hurt you a lot in the past. But I have changed. I'm here to show you the new Shim Changmin that would treasure you and cherish your love forever. From the first day I met you in high school four years ago, I had fallen deeply in love with you. You hold a special place in my heart, a very special place. And now I kneel here to ask you for your hand in marriage. I love you Kim Soo Kyung, will you marry me?" he proposed. He solemnly looked into her eyes with his, lovingly, waiting for her to answer.

Soo Kyung couldn't stop crying. She didn't sob out loud but tears slowly flowed down her cheeks. She laughed a small uneasy laugh that was meant to tell him that she's okay and she's not crying.

"Yes, Shim Changmin, I will marry you," she softly said as she reached down for his hands and pulled him up. He placed the ring on her ring finger and embraced her in his warm arms He whispered into her ears, " Thank you, thank you for accepting me."

She pulled away from the hug and he wiped away her tears softly. "I love you so much," she said, finally, voice a little trembling from crying. He smiled and closed her mouth with his finger. He leaned in and kissed her gently at first then it turned passionate. Their heads moved along with their kiss.

After the long kiss, he hugged her waist and pulled her closely to his body. She wrapped her arms around his neck. They smiled into each others' eyes. He landed a small kiss on her red cheeks.

The waiter didn't bother interrupting them with the order. They didn't even bother eating either. Changmin lead her to the small dance floor at the front of the place and they slowly danced to the music.

Head on his broad shoulders and arms around his neck, she felt safe once again. He hugged her waist and breathed into her hair. They remained like this for the rest of the night, not the whole night but you know.

"Changmin-ah, how about your ring?" she asked as she broke away from the hug, looking at him. He scratched his head and thought for a while.

"I was just thinking about your ring and didn't think about mine, haha," he laughed and said.

"Then, we'll go shopping for a ring for you that suits with mine, tomorrow, okay?" she offered and pinched his nose.

"Sure," he replied and hugged her again. She played with her ring and smiled.

"Saranghae," she said it in a very cute way.

"Nado saranghae."
