Pink,
sweet, fresh and young
radiant on the curves of her cheeks.
Diamonds,
clear, shiny and a woman's best friend
dangling from her ears and wrapped around her neck and wrists.
Flowers,
warmth, love and happiness
covered the dreamy walkway that lead to eternity.
People,
winter, summer, and monsoon,
in silence as they stood in unison.
Her eyes
almond like and breathtaking
sparkling as the light shone above her.
Everything was perfect,
soft music played in the background
he stood waiting,
waiting for the moment they become one.
Minutes passed
The time is near
vows read
glances exchanged,
"I do"
"I do"

"Oppa, I'll come with you today," she favoured.
"No, Ri In, stay home and take care of mom. You won't be able to survive through the day if you came with me," Han Kyung replied as he put his muscular arms, tired from the hard work the earlier day, on her fragile shoulders.
"What if we don't have enough to eat today? Mom needs to have a healthy meal," she said as sadness ran through her, thinking about their sick mother.
Han Kyung sighed. She is right, they won't have enough money to buy food for the family. But no, he can't let her come with him.
"Ri In, you're too weak to accompany me. You hardly eat anything every day, just giving all your portions to mother. You wouldn't be able to go on the streets like that," he replied with a serious look on his gentle face.
"Okay oppa, I'll take care of mom today, but only today. Tomorrow I will come with you," she said and hugged him. "Now go, or you will be late!"
Han Kyung's heart raced again as she embraced him in her sticklike but welcoming arms. The feeling of warmth rose again. She is the only woman that would make him feel loved apart from his mother. And he treasured her, more than anything else in the world. His love for her was everlasting.
But she doesn't love him, not in the way that he wants her to. They were related, not by blood but by relation. His widowed mom was her step-mom and her deceased dad was his step-dad.
He smiled down at her and gazed at her almond like brown eyes. And her cheeks, which were once pink and round were pale from the loss of good nutrition. Her lips, how he longed to kiss them softly and feel them with his. Instead, he lightly pecked her on the cheeks, waiting for her to do the same.
"I'll be back in the evening with something to eat, stay safe and take good care of mom. Don't worry about me, I'll survive through it today," he said.
"Don't let that mean boss get you okay? I'll pray for you so that you won't get hurt again," she assured him, looking back at the time where he came back home with scars all over his body.
"Okay, I'll be going now," he replied and went off. She was left alone again in the silence of their small house.
Slowly sitting down on the hard wooden chair, she started praying. Praying for the day to turn out well. Praying for the suffering to stop. Tears started to well up in her eyes. This was not new to her, it had always been like this, well ever since.... She wished for a change, a change that would bring her the best of luck.
For her, everyday was...
living on a prayer.
