Mei Mei: Gui Gui! What is wrong with you?
Apple: Yea, you’ve been ‘sighing’ a lot nowadays.
Me: Mei you (nothing).
Da Ya: GUI! YOU are a REALLY bad liar.
Ya Tou: Yea, tell us! Come on!
Me: Mei you-la (nothing).
Tong Tong: Why nothing?
Xiao Xun: Can't TRUST us...?
Me: [thinking] aiyo...why do they always do this to me...?
I really AM making it too obvious...
Me: Ok I’ll tell.
Xiao Man: So...? What is it?
Me: *Sigh* I...want...to fall in love...
Xiao Jie: THAT’S it?!
Me: *Nod*
Xiao Jie: Aiyo, Gui! You are too stupid!
Me: Wo zhi dao, that’s why I'm UNABLE to fall in love!
Xiao Xun: No, Gui Gui. You’re UNABLE to fall in love,
because you keep saying you want-
Mei Mei: TRUE LOVE! (She reached over, and whacked me at
the side of my head)
Apple: WHY do you want TRUE LOVE?
Me: Well...I don’t wanna fall in love with the WRONG
person.
Da Ya: Gui! We learn from our mistakes!
Me: What if it’s a BIG mistake?
Tong Tong: You won't MAKE a BIG mistake!
Ya Tou: That’s why WE’RE here! We’ll help you-we’ll guide
you-we’ll sacrifice OUR lives for you!
Me: Aw...xie xie!
Xiao Man: That’s what friends are for!
Me: *Smile* Ok, let’s go to class before the bell rings.
Da Ya: Ok!
Xiao Xun: I don’t understand why we have different classes.
Me: Aiyo, WE don’t have different classes! You guys all
have the same class! I have a class by myself! Its so
lonely!
Tong Tong them laughed, and we walked into the school.
* * *
I sat in class, unable to concentrate, when the
teacher called, “Gui Gui!” I looked up from behind my
books. “Huh?” I asked. “You haven't been concentrating for
the last few weeks,” the teacher began, “I'm getting SICK
and tired of it!” she handed me a test, “If you don’t past
this test with an eighty or higher, I'm going to kick you
out of my class.” I looked at her, because I though she
was kidding. She WASN’T kidding, she GLARED at
me. “Aiyo...” I remarked as I got my pencil. The teacher
uttered, “DON’T talk back to me.” I WASN’T even talking
back to her! She took the test out of my hands, and handed
me a booklet with about...200 questions. I stared blankly
at the test, but she snatched the test out from my hands
again. “Ni!” she began, “go to room...” she wrote
something on the piece of paper on my desk, and shoved it
into my hands. “Go next door and hand the teacher this
paper,” she remarked. I didn’t CARE about this teacher
right now, or why she was doing this to me. I never did
anything wrong, I’ve never gotten lower than a C+, on my,
grades this whole year.
I got up, grabbed my bag, and walked out. “Psycho
teacher,” I swore under my breath, “she must be REALLY mad
today, because she ACTUALLY kicked me out from her class.”
I went inside the class next door and I heard someone
yell, “Gui Gui! Hi!” I looked and saw Da Ya and Ya Tou
them. I was about to wave to them, but the guy who sat one
seat away from Da Ya caught my attention. HE had GORGEOUS
hair and his eyes...WOW! My heart began to thump REALLY
fast, but I managed to stumble my way over to the
teacher’s desk. I handed her the paper my ‘first’ teacher
wrote on. She read aloud, “Jie Ting, please take care of
Gui Gui. She hasn’t been paying attention lately. Although
she has EXCELLENT grades, her lack of effort has forced me
to kick her out of my class. She’s really nice, if you get
to know her. P.S. Her mood and attitude can switch around
360 degrees. She can go from happy and cheerful, to mad
and pissed off.” The whole class laughed, I ALSO laughed,
but only because my ‘first’ teacher said pissed off. Mrs.
Ting gave me a welcoming smile, and I smiled back as she
started, “Its okay. Ms. Wei Xuan must still be pissed from
yesterday.” “Wow,” I thought, “I can probably cuss in this
class, and get away with it.” “Uh...” I
began, “Who...is...Wei Xuan?” Ms. Ting laughed, then
said, “Wei Xuan...is the teacher that just kicked you
out.” Half the girls in the class laughed at me. “Oh,” I
replied, “Aiyo...I'm SO stupid...i don’t even know my own
teacher’s name.” “Actually,” Ms. Ting interrupted, “its
says here (she pointed to the paper), that you’re
smart.” “Oh...”I began, “wo zhi dao...ke shi...I'm really
not that smart. I just never got a ‘C’ before.” Ms. Ting
smiled, “Please forgive Ms. Wei Xuan for yelling at you.
Her husband got into a car crash yesterday. She’s probably
still worried about him.” “Aiyo,” I began, “I blame
myself...Ms. Ting, can I go back to apologize...to Ms. Wei
Xuan?” She nodded, “Sure. Don’t take too long though.” I
thanked her, then dashed out the class. I went back into
Wei Xuan’s room. She sat at her table...and stared out the
window. I quietly walked over to her, and set my hand on
her shoulder. “Dui bu qi,” I apologized. Wei Xuan averted
her gaze to me. She smiled up at me, “Hmm...?” “Dui bu
qi,” I repeated, “I know I've been REALLY
stupid...and...I'm sorry. Dui bu qi.” She continued to
smile up at me, “Oh, its okay. No harm done...and...Jie
Ting told you about...my husband...right?” I nodded, “Dui
bu qi. I wish you two the best.” I reached for her, and
hugged her. “You’re a really sweet girl,” Wei Xuan
said, “Its too bad I handed you over to Jie Ting.” I
smiled at her...not saying anything. “Truth is...” she
began, “...you were, originally, suppose to be a student
in Jie Ting’s class...but I wanted you in my class...so
you were moved to my class. I hope you forgive me.” I
laughed, “Oh, its okay. I had fun in this class, even
though my friends were in Jie Ting’s class.” Ms. Wei Xuan
smiled, “Xie xie ni, Gui Gui.” I hugged her again, and
went back to Jie Ting’s class.
