Chapter 2
One of A Million
Ms. Ting: Okay...Gui Gui. Let’s find you a seat.
Me: Oh...ok.
Ms. Ting: Uh... (she looked around the room)...
Da Ya: Gui! Over here!
Ms. Ting had separated the class. Girls were on one side, guys were on the other side. But of course...there were a couple of girls and guys, down the middle of the class, who had to sit next to each other, to form a separation line for the guys and girls.
Ms. Ting: Right there!
She pointed to the seat next to the guy that caught my attention when I first walked in. I thanked Ms. Ting, and walked over to my seat, and sat down. I didn’t mind sitting next to that guy...after all, he’s HOT. I sat in front of Xiao Xun, behind Ya Tou, and next to Da Ya. Xiao Xun them sat next to Da Ya. “Aiyo,” I thought, “I don’t mind sitting next to him…but how am I suppose to concentrate?!” Just as I was thinking this…a bug landed on my desk. I raised my hand, straight up in the air, and dropped it. *SPLAT!* RIGHT on the bug! I laughed with glee, but stopped when I realized…the whole class was looking at me. Some girls GLARED at me, but I ignored them, and wiped the bug on my chair. I turned to the left, to see what the ‘hot’ guy’s reaction was, but he quickly glanced at me, and went back to his studies. “He MUST have an attitude problem,” I thought to myself, “but...that only makes him hotter!”

We were walking home from school...and Da Ya said, “Gui! That is SO cool!”
Xiao Xun: Yea! You’re in our class now!
Me: I know!
Mei Mei: Now we don’t always have to worry about you.
Me: Aw! You guys WORRIED about me?! (I hugged Mei Mei)
Me: OH! (I stopped hugging Mei Mei) Do you guys know who that guy I sit next to is?
Xiao Man: Aiyo!
Xiao Jie: Not him!
Me: Huh? Why not?
Xiao Xun: He’s the guy that EVERY girl likes!
Me: Oh...
Apple: We don’t like him though, so you don’t need to worry.
Tong Tong: We don’t really know him anyways.
Me: Oh...so...you guys...don’t know his name...huh?
Da Ya: His name is Wang Zi. Everyone knows his name.
Me: Wang Zi...
A woman came out of nowhere, and I nearly jumped up about 3 feet into the air. “Uh...” I began, “HI! Who...are...you...?” She smiled, “I heard you talking about true love, this morning.” “Oh,” I began, “what about it...?” “I can help you find your true love,” she replied. I didn’t believe her...Da Ya them all stared at her in belief. I REALLY didn’t believe her...but...then again...i REALLY wanted to find my true love. Then Tong Tong them turned to look at me. I nodded at the woman, “What do you want from me?” She smiled, “Since you trusted me...FIRST, I want you to understand that you are one of a million people-to actually pursue your dream. Especially with a dream as big as finding true love...what I want from you...is a promise.” “A promise?!” Mei Mei exclaimed. “I thought she’d rip you off!” Tong Tong added. “What kind of promise?” I asked the woman. She smiled again, “You mustn't give up. Since you are one of a million...you MUST carry out this promise...and find true love, prove to the world that true love exists. You must promise me that you won't give up.” “I’ll do whatever it takes,” I replied, “I promise. I won't give up.” She nodded and said, “Okay. Now...i need your heart.” “Huh?” I asked in confusion. “I NEED your heart,” she repeated as she stuck out her hands.
