Chapter 27
Jun Yin
I looked at the clock, 1:39 a.m. “Aiyo,” I said, “Grandma, I’ll have to get going now, if I want to get home before school.” She smiled, “I know I can't stop you, so please, just be careful.” I stood up and said, “Wo zhi dao, you don’t have to treat me like i'm still a kid.” Grandma laughed. “Ok,” I went on as I grabbed my bag, “I’ll see you again tomorrow. Bye.” I left the room and saw Wang Zi in the waiting room. When he saw me, he stood up. “What took you so long?” he asked. “Wo?” I began, “I didn’t know you were waiting.” “I couldn’t just LEAVE,” he said. “Why not?” I asked. “Wo-“ he began, “I couldn’t just LEAVE my bodyguard behind... What if I got shot on the way home??” I laughed, “You have the WEIRDEST imaginations.” I laughed. “Its not an imagination,” he remarked, “it’s a POSSIBILITY.” I continued to laugh, “Look, if you got ‘shot’ on the way home...i’d probably be the one holding the gun.” I laughed even harder, but Wang Zi didn’t think it was funny. He grabbed onto my arm and squeezed it SO hard, I thought my bloodflow had stopped. “I'm saying that was a THREAT,” he muttered, “if the police found out about this, you’d be in jail right away.” I didn’t stop laughing, “But-but who’d believe you? All I’d have to say, to convince them that I DIDN’T threaten you, would be ‘Why would I threaten him?? I'm his BODYGUARD!” Wang Zi squeezed onto my arm harder. “OW!” I yelled, “OW! Ow.” Wang Zi covered my mouth with his right hand, so that I wouldn’t be so loud. “I'm going to bite your hand,” I muttered behind his hand. I thought he didn’t know what I was saying, but he replied, “Hah, yea right. You wouldn’t do it. You care too much about my hand.” I kept backing up, with his hand still over my mouth, until my back hit the wall. Wang Zi leaned SO close to me, I felt his warm breath at my neck. I kicked Wang Zi, and he finally removed his hand. I kicked him in the shins again, then I said, “I MAY care about your hand, but I can still kick your FEET.” “Ni,” he muttered as he rubbed his leg where I had kicked him, “you suck at being a bodyguard. I'm not even sure if you’re the same person that jumped the assassinator.
I was about to kick him again, but then I remembered
*Flashback*
Tian Yi: Do you care about him?
Me: A lot.
*End of flashback*
“Tsh,” I said, then I walked away.
(Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
Gui Gui didn’t walk very far, then she fell. I laughed at her, but when she didn’t get up, I ran towards her. “Are you okay?” I asked her, forgetting that she had just kicked me twice. She didn’t answer, so I stuck out my hand, towards her. Gui Gui saw my hand, and looked up at me. “What’s wrong with you?” she asked, “why aren't you mad at me?” “Wo-“ I began-
*Flashback*
“Don’t hurt those that listen and understand you.”
*End of flashback*
I stood still...with my hand still stretched out towards her, I didn’t know how to answer... Gui Gui took my hand. “Whatever,” she said, “as long as you're offering your hand, I’ll take it.”
Gui Gui fell asleep on the drive home. I looked over at her. “Wow,” I thought to myself, “she must be really tired.” I continued driving, but Gui Gui began to mumble, “Jun Yin...mei you la, don’t go. Wei, don’t leave me. I don’t want to be by myself...don’t go...” her voice got louder and louder, “Jun Yin, don’t go...don’t leave...JUN YIN!!!” She punched me as she yelled. I brought the car to a halt just as Gui Gui woke up. “Uh-oh,” Gui Gui began, “was i...” “Sleeptalking?” I finished for her, “Yea.” “Aiyo,” Gui Gui remarked, “...what...did I say??” “Jun Yin,” I said, “who’s Jun Yin?” I started the car, but Gui Gui grabbed onto the steering wheel. “I don’t want to go home yet,” Gui Gui said. I looked over at her, it was obvious that she was hurting...but I didn’t have the guts to ask her why. “Where to?” I asked her instead. “Go to...” she began, “to...i don’t know...where do you want to go?” I don’t know WHY I asked it, but I did, “Who’s Jun Yin?”
(End of Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
“Jun Yin...” I began, “...why would YOU care?” Wang Zi smiled, “Because...i was just wondering...and...Where’d this ‘Jun Yin’ go??” I didn’t answer, and Wang Zi turned off the engine. “And...” Wang Zi went on, “if he left you...i really wouldn’t blame him.” I glared at him with a disgusted face, “If you don’t know what happened, don’t make any STUPID remarks! I’ll tell you who Jun Yin is, he’s my older brother!” I began to cry, but I continued yelling, “YEA, he DID leave me! HE PASSED AWAY! Are you happy!? You got what you wished for!” I got out of the car and slammed the car door. It was dark, but the stars and the moon led the way. I ran across the street, to the other side, but someone blocked my way. I looked up and saw two guys.
Guy 1: Hello there. I see you’ve just gotten out of a relationship.
Guy 2: Yea, you must be depressed.
Guy 1: Come with us, and we’ll have a few beers. It’ll get him off your mind.
Guy 2: That guy you were with must’ve been a dumbass-
I don’t know why I did it, I was just probably pissed off. I punched the second guy in the nose. “He MAY be a dumbass,” I began, “but that’s better than being a DRUNK dumbass.” The guy I punched was still wiping off the blood that poured down his nose. I turned around, to run off, because I was actually REALLY scared of these two, but one of them grabbed my shoulder. He turned me around, and made a fist, ready to swing...
