Chapter 30
The Game
[Recap]
(Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
“What a weird day...” I though to myself, “I’ve never told anyone about Grandma...except for Gui Gui...”... “In this world...i thought I had the most pain to bear with...the most painful life and past...guess I was wrong...” Someone so weird on the outside...but so kind and fragile on the inside...almost makes you want to help her bear the pain...ALMOST...

[End of Recap]
I didn’t sleep that night. After I took a shower, I stayed up and sat out on the balcony. I wasn’t sleepy...i wanted to cry again...but there were no more tears to cry.
The sky was shrouded in clouds, thick and dark...ready to rain. I wanted it to rain. I wanted this rain to cry for me, I wanted the world to know how sad and dreary I am.
I switched my cell phone on, 6:56 a.m. I got off the rail, and went inside to get ready. I put on some waterproof mascara, and switched into my school uniform. I ran downstairs and opened the door to leave, but Aaron stood in the doorway, about to ring the doorbell.
“Oh,” I began, “ni hao.” Aaron greeted me with a smile, “Ni hao, Gui Gui.” Ma came down from her room to make breakfast. When she saw me in the doorway, she asked, “Gui, who are you talking to?” I moved out of the doorway, so Ma could see Aaron. “Jun Yin???” she mumbled. “Huh?” I said as I turned back around to look at Aaron. Jun Yin...Aaron DID look like him! “Ma...” I went on, “...this is-“ “Aaron,” he finished for me, “ni hao.” “Oh...” Ma said, kinda in a daze...not sure about what just happened, “ni hao...Aaron.”
“Why’d you come?” I asked Aaron as we walked to school. “To study,” he answered, “we have that test tomorrow. Today’s the last day to study.” “Uh-huh...” I mumbled, “I forgot about that...”
Thunder clapped, and it began to rain. “Aiyo,” Aaron said, :I forgot my sweater.” I laughed, “Me too!” Aaron looked at me like I was crazy. “Aren’t you cold???” he asked. I laughed again, “Mei you, I LIKE the rain! Don’t you!?” he continued to stare at me like I was crazy. “Aiyo,” I said as I handed him my bag, “you don’t get it. Here, hold my bag for me while I run in the rain.”
I ran around, swinging my arms up and down, laughing...as tears began to come down from my eyes again. Then, someone grabbed onto my wrist. I slowly turned around, and saw Wang Zi. “Ni,” he began, “why are you always crying?” He wiped away the tears that came down from my eyes. I hugged him as I cried. “How did he know?” I thought to myself, not daring to ask.
Wang Zi pulled away. He took off his sweater and draped it over my shoulders. “Come on,” he said, “I’ll take you to school.” I smiled, “Oh...ok. Xie xie.” “You go first,” Wang Zi said, “I’ll be there in a bit.” I nodded, “Ok.”
(Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
I walked over to Aaron. “Dui bu qi,” I apologized. “Why are you apologizing?” he asked me. “I know you liked her first,” I answered. Aaron smiled, “I may have liked her first, but she never handed me her heart.” “Your point is...?” I asked. “Game’s still on,” he said, “the game for her love.” He stuck out his hand, and I shook it. “May the best man win,” he remarked. I nodded, “You need a lift, to school?”
(End of Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
Wang Zi drove Aaron and me to school. Aaron Wang Zi and I walked to the entrance of the school, and I remembered that I still had Wang Zi’s sweater on. “Wang Zi,” I began, “here.” I took the sweater off and held it out to Wang Zi. He smiled, “You need it more than I do. Wear it. You can give it back to me afterschool, or when we’re studying back at home. He and Aaron shook hands, then Wang Zi left. I don’t know HOW or WHY they got along, but...they got along.
Aaron and I were studying in the library, when my phone rang (text message). I turned the phone on, set it on silent, and vibrate, then I opened the text message: Gui Gui! Where ARE you?! We haven’t talked to you OVERNIGHT! How’s things? –Da Ya/Tong Tong/Mei Mei/Xiao Xun/Xiao Man/Xiao Jie/Apple/YaYa Tou <3
I texted them back: Oh, II'm in the library right now. Still studying...i’ll meet with you guys in class, or whenever. But can’t talk right now...yet I have SO much to tell you guys!!! <33
I sent the message just as the bell rang. “Aiyo,” I said as I stood up, “I'm kinda in a hurry, so I’ll go to class first. See you later, Aaron.” He smiled, “I’ll be right behind you.” I smiled back, “Ok.” I grabbed my bag, and left.
I walked in class, just as the second bell rang. Aaron still wasn’t there... where WAS he??? About two minutes later, Aaron walked in, late. He walked over to Ms. Ting and handed her a pass. After she excused him, he went to his seat. “Okay,” Ting began, “please take out your science books.” I went through my bag, but couldn’t find it. “You’ve GOT to be kidding me,” I mumbled, “I left it back at the library!” I thought I heard someone tap on my desk, so I looked up and saw Aaron. He smiled at me and handed me my science book. then he walked back to his seat. “Open to page 279,” Ting went on, “today is your last day to study for the test. I suggest you review these questions on page 279 tonight.” I took my phone out, from my bag, and texted Aaron: Xie xie! Thanks for getting my book! =)
He texted back: Oh, its okay. I was only a little late.
Me: THAT was why you were late!? Aiyo, dui bu qi oh.
Aaron: Aiyah...i knew you were gonna do this...its OKAY! Don’t sweat it, and besides...i got a pass, so I was excused.
Me: Oh...ok...
“Take out your odes, please,” Ting said, “you’re going to share your poems.” Everyone took their poems out, and Ting went on, “To make the partnering easier, you’ll share your poems with your lab partners.” Da Ya and Ao Quan them laughed at Wang Zi and me, but I really didn’t mind being partnered with Wang Zi and Aaron. I’ve been with them too much, I'm actually used to them by now.
