[End of Recap]
“Wo?” I asked. Tong Tong them nodded. I smiled, “I dunno...you tell me.”
After they left, I went to find Aaron. I felt a shot of dizziness in my head...and everything got blurry. Rong Jia and her friends walked towards me. Rong Jia smiled, and gave me one hard shove...
(Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
Da Ya and xiao jia them finally came out from the school. “Where’s Gui Gui?” I asked. “She went to find Aaron, to give him his handkerchief,” Ya Tou answered. “Aaron...left a long time ago...” I thought to myself.” “Oh..” I mumbled, “ok.” “Come on,” Ao Quan said, “let go.” “But...” Da Ya began, “don’t you think we should wait for Gui?” “I’ll wait,” I said, “you guys can leave first.” “But-“ Xiao Xun began. “We still have to visit her grandma,” Xiao Man interrupted, “remember?” “Oh,” Da Ya and Xiao Xun said at the same time, “Ok.”
After they all left, I ran inside the school. Gui Gui was walking down the hallway, drearily. I was just about to scream her name, but Rong Jia and her friends came out from a classroom. They were facing the opposite direction of Gui Gui, so they didn’t see her. I ran behind a wall, near Gui Gui. When Rong Jia and her friends finally turned around, they saw Gui Gui. They all smiled, and unpleasant smile...then they walked towards Gui Gui, with Rong Jia in the front. I thought Gui Gui was going to do something, but I guess she didn’t see them.
Rong Jia pushed Gui Gui, and to my surprise, she didn’t fall. She just lurched two or three steps backwards, towards my direction. Rong Jia took another step towards Gui Gui, but when I stepped out, from behind the wall, Rong Jia stopped...and so did her friends.
“What?” I asked, “why not go on?” I took another step towards Gui Gui, so I stood almost right behind her. Rong Jia and her friends still stared at me. Gui Gui went unconscious and fell back. I caught her just as her hand touched the ground. “Ni...” Rong Jia began, “why are you always protecting her?” “Why are you always hurting her?” I asked Rong Jia. She smiled another unpleasant smile, “Wo? No one ever said I COULDN’T.” “No one ever said I couldn’t, either,” I said, “I guess it balances out.” I threw Gui Gui’s hand around my neck and I stood up, with her still in my arms, and I walked away.
“Wei!” Rong Jia yelled after me, and I stopped walking, “do you LIKE her, or what?” I smiled, my back still facing her. “I thought you’d know the answer to that by now,” I replied.
Gui Gui’s head rested on my shoulder. My face accidentally touched her’s as I reached for my car-door handle. “I guess it’s good that my hand healed,” I sighed. Then I realized...Gui Gui’s face was burning hot. I set her in the backseat, then I placed my hand over her forehead. Her forehead was BURNING, so I decided to take her to the hospital.

Once again, she was set in the same room as her grandma. The doctor took her pulse rate, then he took her temperature, and he motioned for me to step outside the room with him.
“She has a slight fever,” he began, “it’ll be alright, but she hasn’t been sleeping regularly. Her body will be a little weak from time to time, so I suggest you keep a close eye on her.” I nodded, “Xie xie.” He nodded back, and left. I went back inside the room, to check up on Gui Gui. Not to mention, I still carried her things.”
Her grandma was awake, but she still slept. “Wang Zi,” her grandma began, “xie xie ni.” “Uh...” I started, “for...what?” “It seems that you're always with her and protecting her,” she said. I smiled, “Yea...i know...she’s suppose to be my bodyguard, but I end up protecting her.” “Bodyguard???” she asked me. “Oh...” I began, “you...didn’t...know?” She shook her head, “No. Does...her mom and dad know?” “Mei you,” I answered, “I don’t think so.” “They probably wouldn’t approve of it,” she went on, “anyways, xie xie ni oh.” “Its okay,” I said. “Oh,” she went on, “Weren't Gui Gui’s friends just here...?” “Uh...” I began, “i...guess...” “Why didn’t Gui Gui come with them?” she asked. “Oh,” I mumbled, “she was being bullied by these other girls. She was sick...so she couldn’t do anything...” “Aiyo,” Gui Gui’s grandma sighed, “the world seems to never be on her side.” I nodded, “Through what she’s told me, I think that’s true. I even said that, and she just said ‘The world can’t always be on your side. At least...not forever’. “ “Gui Gui...TOLD you about her...past...?” she asked me. I nodded, “Yea. I told her about mine, too.” “Oh,” she went on, “what was yours about?” “Oh...not much...” I began, “my grandma and mom passed away when I was four. My dad went abroad, to study, and he wasn’t there.” “Aiyo,” she said, “dui bu qi oh.” “No need to apologize,” I uttered, “its okay, I told you it wasn’t much.” “Mei you, that is more than MUCH, that’s a lot. Something like that, would tear up ones life,” she said, “i'm guessing that’s your VULNERABLE side?” I nodded, “Yea. That was also Gui Gui’s. She cried when she spilled out her past.” “Ni...” Gui Gui’s grandma said, “you seem to understand her...” I nodded, “Actually...she understood me first...” “OH!” she exclaimed, “do you know Aaron?!” I nodded, “Yea, why do you ask?” “Not much...” she answered, “I've just met him today. He came with Ah Wei and Xiao Yu and the rest of them. They’re a REALLY nice bunch!” “More like loud...” I mumbled under my breath. “But...” she went on, “ I think Aaron...KINDA has a THING for Gui Gui.” I laughed, “Yea, I think so, too.” Gui Gui’s grandma didn’t say anything for a while. Then...she said something, so low...so quietly...i almost thought that she DIDN’T say it, “Do YOU like Gui Gui?” I smiled, “You really don’t know the answer to that already?” “You...DO?” she asked. I nodded slowly, “Yea...” “Wei!” she whispered after a long pause, “Wang Zi, can I tell you something?” “Oh,” I began, “yea, sure.” “But...you can't tell Gui, that I told you this,” she continued to whisper. “Ok,” I answered.

“True love!?” I whispered, “Aaron!?” Gui Gui’s grandma nodded as she looked over at Gui Gui to see if she was awake, then she went on, “And she doesn’t know that the ‘friend’ i'm living with, is Zhou Di Jun, the one who told her about the ‘true love’ thing. We planned it up, its real and all, but...make sure Gui Gui doesn’t find out about this,” her grandma laughed. I nodded, “Ok.” “You're the only person that knows about Zhou Di Jun,” she went on. I smiled, “Wow...i can't believe she wants to find true love so badly.” Gui Gui’s grandma nodded, “Yea. She’s wanted it since she was really small. She was always scared of mistakes.” “Oh,” I started, “what is Gui Gui’s real name? She explained to me that ‘Gui Gui’ was what they ‘nicknamed’ her-“ “Wu Ying Jie,” she answered, “Gui Gui’s actual name is Wu Ying Jie.” “Wu ying Jie,” I repeated, “as in WU Ying Jie???” “Yes,” Gui Gui’s grandma answered, “she’s the daughter of the former principal, Principal Wu, from your school. The big fountain in your school that was made in loving memory to him...he dedicated it to her...that’s why she loves that fountain so much...”
“Wang Zi,” her grandma said, “if you really, truly, dearly, like Gui Gui...please, continue to like her. Don’t give up, please. Everyone is given one life, one time, and one chance to love only one person...the person they truly love...” I smiled, “Zhi dao. I won't give up. I refuse to give up. Ma told me giving up is never the answer to something...unless its drugs...”
Gui Gui stirred a little...then she woke up. “What...happened...?” she asked.

“I was BULLIED by Rong Jia and her friends!?!?” Gui Gui exclaimed. I placed my hand over her forehead, “Well, you're not sick anymore.” Gui Gui pushed my hand away, “Where were YOU, when I was being bullied!?!?” “Why are you yelling at me?” I asked her, “I was the one that stopped them, and brought you here.” Her grandma laughed at us, and neither of us said anything. “GRANDMA!” Gui Gui cracked the silence, “why are you laughing!?” she pointed at Gui Gui as she continued to laugh, “Ni-you’ve always been so stupid.” I laughed this time, and her grandma laughed with me. “Aiyo...” Gui Gui mumbled, “Dui bu qi...Wang Zi.” “Oh,” I began, “mei you, it was my fault-“ “No,” Gui Gui interrupted, “you're always blaming yourself! It was MY fault! I was the one at fault, please blame me! I blame myself for not sleeping, for running in the rain! I really AM stupid-“ “OK,” I interrupted her, “ok. Stop blaming yourself, and I’ll stop blaming myself.” I set a hand on her shoulder, and she looked up at me with tears in her eyes. I smiled, and she smiled back. Just like that...her tears became tears of joy.
