Chapter 34
My Explanation
I looked up and saw Aaron, Robert, Da Ya, Ao Quan, and the rest of them. “Whoa,” Robert uttered and he began to laugh, “falling curtains!” “Oh,” Da Ya choked, “THAT was what happened.” Aaron laughed with Robert, “Who saved who?” I got up, and helped Wang Zi up. “Xie xie,” we both said at the same time. “Xie xie,” I said again, “I could've been killed just now.” Aaron walked over to us, “So...Wang Zi saved YOU?!” I nodded, “Yea, why?” “Aren't YOU suppose to be HIS bodyguard???” he asked again as he continued to laugh. I picked up the textbook and threw it at Aaron. It hit him in the knee, and he yelled. “I know!” I exclaimed, “i'm HIS bodyguard, but...i never seem to ‘PROTECT’ him! Except that time YOU almost punched him...” “Yea...” Aaron began, “Wang Zi, sorry about that.” Wang Zi laughed, “Oh, yea. That’s ok.” Robert handed Wang Zi and me a drink. “Here’s the drink you ordered,” he said to Wang Zi. I looked at it...BROWN SUGAR MACCHIATO...! I took a sip from it, and then I took another sip. Then I realized... “WHY are Aaron them here???” “Wei,” I whispered to Wang Zi. He looked up from his drink, “Huh?” “Xie xie,” I said, “and...why are Aaron and the rest of them here?” He smiled, “They’re here to celebrate the last day of you being my bodyguard.”
“Ok,” Robert began, “I’d like to stay, but I got to get back to my job.” He left, and Mei Mei looked over at Wang Zi and me, “Wei! How come WE don’t get drinks?” “Wo-“ I began, “i...don’t really...know...” “I wanna drink, too!” Xiao Jie (GIRL) exclaimed. Wang Zi stood up, “Ok. Ok. Stop yelling, we’ll go get each of you a drink, gosh. Its just a drink...” “Yay!” Ya Tou exclaimed. “Wei!” I yelled, “its not JUST a drink, its BROWN SUGAR MACCHIATO!” I took another sip from my drink, then I remembered... Grandma! I still have to go see if she’s still in the hospital! “OH!” I exclaimed, “I gotta go to the hospital for something, REAL quick!” “But...” Da Ya began, “what about...our drinks...?” “Aiyo,” I began, “you guys stalked me last time, so you’d probably know the directions.” I looked over at Wang Zi them, they were in their own conversation. “Why do you need to go to the hospital?” Ya Tou asked. I took a deep breath, then I explained, “Ok. At school, after you guys left, I went to find Aaron, but I felt dizzy...and I got a headache. Then Rong Jia and her friends came-“ “Aiyo!” Tong Tong interrupted, “what’d they do THIS time??” “I'm not REALLY sure...but I remember that Rong Jia pushed me. Then...i guess Wang Zi stopped them...but I don’t remember what happened AFTER that,” I went on. “That bitch PUSHED you!?” Tong Tong interrupted me again, “I'm going to get her back! NO one pushes MY Gui Gui!” “Tong,” Mei Mei said, “let Gui finish talking first! We’ll deal with Rong Jia-“ “No,” I interrupted Mei Mei, “don’t bother about Rong Jia. Forget about her. Lets just ignore her.” “But-“ Da Ya uttered. “Please,” I urged them, “I still have my grandma to worry about.” “Ok,” Apple spoke for them, “go on with your story already.” “Xie xie,” I thanked them, then I went on, “Anyways, I woke up in the hospital...”

Tong Tong: Not enough MONEY!?
Ya Tou: Ugh! What liars! No offense, Gui, because they’re your parents...
Me: None taken, I don’t care about those two.
Da Ya: Gui! I can't believe Wang Zi protected you from getting slapped!
(They cracked up)
Me: [whispering] WEI! Shut up! That’s not funnie!
Xiao Man: I know! But it was funnie HOW she said it.
Me: Aiyo...
Apple: Gui! you got the money! Go pay for the bill already!
Xiao Jie: Yea! Hurry!
Me: Oh, ok!
(Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
“OH!” Gui Gui exclaimed, “I gotta go to the hospital for something, REAL quick!” “I’ll go with her,” Aaron said. I wasn’t sure about what to say... “Wei!” Ah Wei whispered to me, “are you REALLY going to let him have that chance???” “Tsh,” I uttered. I placed a hand on Aaron’s shoulder, “I’ll go, since today’s her last day as my bodyguard, and-“ “Ok,” he gave in, “ok. You can go. You're lucky today’s her last day.” “Luck isn't my thing,” I laughed. “Gui!” Da Ya hollered, “I can't believe Wang Zi protected you from getting slapped!” Ao Quan them glared at me. “Don’t ask,” I quickly said. “Alright,” Aaron replied, “we won't. This time.” “Alright, whatever,” I said. “Ok!” Ya Tou yelled, “who’s taking Gui!?” I made my way towards the door.
(End of Wang Zi’s P.O.V)
“I guess HE’LL be taking you,” Xiao Xun said as she pointed to Wang Zi. I hit her finger, “Its not polite to point. And I FIGURED he was gonna take me, when he walked to the door.” I walked over to Wang Zi. “Wei!” Wei Lian yelled, “how are we going to get our drinks???” “Da Ya them know the directions, they STALKED me once,” I said. “I’ll drive,” Aaron remarked, “you two better hurry. We’ll wait for you there.” I nodded, “Ok. And...Aaron, xie xie.” He smiled, “No problem.”
We got to the hospital, and Wang Zi stood at the entrance. “I’ll be quick,” I said, “you can wait here.” He nodded, “Ok, hurry up. Its cold at night.” I ran inside the hospital, and made my way to the front counter. “Ni hao,” the lady at the front counter greeted, “how may I help you?” “I’d like to check if a Mrs. Wu is still registered here?” I said. “Ok,” she replied, “let me check.” I nodded, and not long after, she said, “Yes. There is still a Mrs. Wu registered here.” “Oh,” I mumbled, “xie xie ni.”
I ran upstairs, forgetting that there was an elevator, and I went to Grandma’s room. When she saw me, she smiled, “Gui! What brings you here?” “Grandma,” I began, “do you know...WHO paid for the hospital bill?” She smiled, “Of course!” “Can...i see...the receipt?” I asked. “Sure,” she said as she pulled it out of her bag and handed it to me. I scanned the little paper...Qiu Sheng Yi... “Qiu Sheng Yi,” I read aloud, “...who’s that...?” grandma laughed, “Think, Gui Gui. Think back.” I thought....i thought hard...
*Flashback*

The handle of the key was almost like the shape of a pretzel, it was colored pale blue, with a carving of ‘Sheng Yi’ in the center.
*End of Flashback*
“Wang...Zi!?” I asked. She nodded, “He paid for everything.” “Aiyo!” I began, “ok! Xie xie! Gotta go now! Bye!” I ran out the door, down the stairs and out of the hospital.
Wang Zi leaned on the wall, with his hands in his pockets. I ran over to him and hugged him. “Ni...” he began, “what's wrong with you?” “Xie xie,” I mumbled, “xie xie ni.”
