Chapter 38
Da Ya's Confession
Da Ya:…i…wanted to tell you something…
Ao Quan: Ah…ok…?
Da Ya: …
Ao Quan: [laughs] this would be when you TELL me…
Da Ya: Oh, ah…dui bu qi. I was just thinking about how I would tell you…
Ao Quan: Just say it o ut, I don’t mind.
Da Ya: Ok! [takes a deep breath] I just wanted to ask you…how would you tell someone you LIKE them…? Because…I-I-I like ‘this guy’ and I don’t know HOW to tell him…
Ao Quan: I’d suggest you tell him straightforward.
Da Ya:…
Ao Quan: Uh…Da Ya…That-that GUY you like…he must be really lucky to have someone like you…
Da Ya: Huh?
She turned to look at him, and he kissed her. Then he pulled away, “Whatever happens…whoever it is…remember…I got your first kiss.” He got up, and walked away. Da Ya ran after him and hugged him from behind, “Wo-wo-wo xi huan ni.” He turned around, and hugged her.
“Whoo!” Ah Wei exclaimed as he jumped out from the bush, and everyone else followed after. “Ah…” I mumbled to myself, “stupid Wang Zi…why does he ruin my life like this…Zen me ban…ah…aiyo!” I refused to let Wang Zi ruin this day for Da Ya. I laughed it off, and ran over to Da Ya and Ao Quan. “CONGRATS!” I yelled in joy and laughter. “Congrats yourself,” Da Ya smiled at me as she stopped hugging Ao Quan, and hugged me, “you FINALLY have a date with Aaron!” “Oh…” I gave a nervous laugh, “how…did you know…? “I overheard you two talking!” Da Ya laughed. Mei Mei them overheard us, and shrieked, “OH MY GOD! GUI! You have a date with Aaron!?” I nodded, and smiled. “Gui Gui,” xiao xun began, “why are you going with Aaron all of a sudden…?” “No reason,” I laughed, “but…he IS my rue love…” “Oh,” Tong Tong laughed, “you're finally taking a shot at true love…?” I nodded, “I made promises, I can't break them.”

we went back to the front of the school, and I met with Aaron. “Oh…Gui Gui,” he began as he ran a hand through his hair, nervously, “can I walk you home?” “Oh,” I thought for a bit, “sure, why not?” He smiled.
Aaron dropped me off at home, and after I said bye to him, I went inside, and he left. Ma greeted me with a hug, and asked, “How was school? How was your day altogether?” I smiled, “another NORMAL day!” Then I hugged Ma. “Gui Gui,” Ma began, “don’t lie to me. I'm your Ma, I know things.” “Oh…” I mumbled, “did Da Ya call you?” “Mei you,” she answered. “Xiao jie?” I continued to ask, “Xiao Man? Xiao Xun? Mei Mei? Tong Tong? Ya-“ “No one told me anything,” Ma interrupted, “so…tell me. what’s wrong???” “I-I-I-“ I stuttered, “I saw Wang Zi with rong jia…they’re ALWAYS together now…! They’re always TALKING…!” “Aiyah,” Ma laughed as she hugged me, “Gui Gui, don’t be upset. It could’ve been a MISUNDERSTANDING…and they could’ve been talking about ANYTHING!” “ENGAGED,” I began, “they were talking about being engaged!’” Ma got quiet…she didn’t say anything, and I began to cry. “Gui Gui,” Ma began, “don’t cry…just try to ignore him…although you MAY not forget him…just try to ignore him…for now, ok?” I smiled at her, “Ah…ok, xie xie, Ma. And…i…have a date with Aaron tonight.” Ma laughed and patted my head, “Ok. When you get back, you have to tell us EVERYTHING that happened. I’ll even call Da Ya them over for a slumber party.” I nodded. “Gui Gui,” Ma went on, “remember, the dance is coming up, and you can only go with ONE guy.” I smiled, “Ah…wo zhi dao.”
Aaron called at 7:00 p.m., and I picked up, “Wei?” “Gui Gui,” he began, “are you ready?” I nodded, then I remembered…he can't see me nod, “Yea,” I answered, “I’m just waiting for you.” He laughed, “Really? I’m just outside.” “Oh,” I laughed as I peeked out the window, and he waved from his car. “I’ll be right down,” I said over the phone.
I ran downstairs, and Ma hugged me again, “Try NOT to cry.” Pa laughed, and Ma whacked him with a roll of newspaper. “Just kidding,” Pa laughed, “jia you., Gui.” I hugged him, and dashed out the door. Aaron waved bye to my parents, and escorted me to his car. He opened the car door for me.
*Flashback*
The limo drove up to Wang Zi and I. Wang Zi still stood where he was, making no attempt to get in. “Why isn't he getting in?” I asked myself. “Open the door,” he said, turning away from me. “Wo?” I asked as I pointed a finger at myself. Wang Zi turned back around, to face me. “Ni,” he answered, “open the door, hurry up.” “Why?” I began, “open it yourself!” Aaron them all stared at us. Robert, who was in the limo, scrolled down the window, “Are you two going to get in, or what?” “Yea,” Wang Zi began, and he stared me in the face, “Gui Gui, are we going to get in, or what??” I put the container of medicine into my bag, then I opened the limo door. Wang Zi laughed at me, “Wow, you're obedient. You actually opened the door.” I got SO pissed, I pushed him inside the limo, and then I slammed the door shut.
*End of Flashback*
I got inside the car, and thanked Aaron. He got into the driver’s side, and asked, “Where to? Where do you want to eat?” “Uh…” I began, “I don’t really want to eat…I really want to just go to a movie.” “You sure?”he asked. I nodded, “Yea, I'm more comfortable with a movie and popcorns.” He laughed, “Ok, you said it.” “Can we watch a scary movie?” I asked. Aaron laughed, “Sure, why not? I LOVE to scare myself.” I laughed, “is that suppose to be sarcasm?” He smiled, and I realized how much he reminded me of Jun Yin…
