Chapter 39
First Date
We went to the movies, and I sat in the seat next to Aaron’s. I looked over at him, and laughed. “What?” he asked as he looked at me. “I think its best if you cover your eyes on the scary parts,” I told him. Aaron smiled, “I know, I think that too.”

after the movies, he parked near a river scenery, and we sat on the grass, staring out on the river. No one spoke for a while…then Aaron cracked the silence, “Gui Gui…” “Huh?” I asked as I looked up at the sky. Aaron held onto my wrist, as he said again, “Gui Gui.” I turned to look at him, and he leaned closer and closer towards me…
*RING! RING!!*
I turned the other way and picked up my phone.
Me: Wei?
Da Ya: GUI!
Xiao xun: Are you coming yet?
Me: Oh…yea we’re coming.
(Aaron smiled at me, then he got up, and opened my passenger door for me.)
Xiao jie: Aiyo, Gui! You better tell us EVERYTHING!
Ma:Oh, hope we’re not interrupting anything…
Me: Ah…no, its okay. I’ll be home right away, ok?
Tong tong: Well…HURRY! We can't stay up all night.
Me:Ok, ok, bye.
I hung up, and got in the car. Aaron drove and I said, “…Aaron…” he smiled, his eyes on the road, as he continued to drive, “yea?”I smiled as I looked out my window, “Thanks for tonight. It was my first date, you know?” he laughed, “Yea, I figured that was why you were so nervous.” I laughed as I hit his arm, “Aiyo, dui bu qi.” “But other than you being nervous…” he went on, “you were fun.” I smiled, “xie xie.”
We arrived at the front of my house, and Aaron walked me to the front step. “I had a fun time,” he said, “even though we didn’t talk much…” “I know,” I laughed, “I had fun too.” he smiled , and turned around and left.
I smiled, and just as I reached for the doorknob, the door swung opened. “No HUG?! No KISS!?” Da Ya asked as she reached for my arm and pulled me inside the house. “You two didn’t even hold hands!!” Apple exclaimed. “what’d you do on your date???” xiao xun asked. “We saw a scary movie,” I laughed, “it was fun.” “FUN!?” xiao man exclaimed. “not ROMANTIC!?!?” ya tou asked. “you can't expect it to be romantic on the FIRST date,” Ma laughed. Da Ya and the rest of them didn’t say anything…then mei mei asked, “are we going to go shopping tomorrow?” “OoH!” Da Ya shrieked, “YEA! For the dance! And we’ll all get makeovers!!!” “Aiyo,” xiao jie began, “its so dark outside.” “OH!” I exclaimed, “we could have a sleep over!” I looked over at ma, “can THEY…? PLEASE???” she smiled, “of course!” Da Ya and the rest hugged her, “XIE XIE!!”

*BEEP! BEEP!!*
I woke up and immediately, and I was about to turn the alarm off, but I realized…I GOT A NEW ALARM!? Tong tong and everyone else woke up, “Are you going to turn it off??” tong tong asked as she rubbed her eyes.. I yawned as I reached over, and turned the alarm off, “come on, lets go get ready.”
After we got ready, we went downstairs for breakfast. Ma cooked pancakes and pa sat on the couch, reading the newspaper, while drinking coffee. When he saw me, he smiled and said, “You’re still on the front page of the newspaper!” I laughed, “Thanks, I was REALLY curious…” He tossed me the newspaper, and I l laughed, “ That was SARCASM!” I picked up the newspaper, just as he said, “I know, but I thought you should see the picture of yourself, on the front page.” I was just about to look at the picture, but Da Ya grabbed it out of my hands. “Interviewers are DYING to get an interview with Gui Gui,” Ya Tou read aloud. “Who’s the guy in the picture?” Pa asked. “Huh?” I asked, “what guy?” I took the newspaper from Da Ya. “AIYO,” I exclaimed as I saw the picture on the front page, “Aaron!” “I thought nothing happened…” xiao xun laughed. “Nothing DID happen!” I answered. “And the picture would be nothing???” Da Ya laughed. “Aiyah…” I sighed, “he was trying…to kiss me, I guess…” “AND?!” ya tou questioned. “I was just about to move,” I began, “but you guys called, and saved me.” Ma laughed as she handed me some pancakes.
After we ate, we left to go to school. “Gui,” xiao man began, “I can't believe he tried to kiss you!” I laughed, “Aiyo, forget about it, okay?” Someone stirred behind a bush, and we stopped talking and walking. “What was that?” xiao jie asked. “I don’t know…” I answered. Then a HUGE group of reporters jumped out from the bush. “RUN FOR IT!!!” Da Ya screamed, and we split up and ran in our own ways. Reporters chased after me, with cameras, shouting out questions. “Aiyo,” I mumbled to myself as I looked back at them, “why are they always following ME?!” I turned back around, and *WHAM*!!
