Da Ya's Crush
Me: Warn me about...what?
Xiao Yu: I suggest you watch your back.
Da Ya: Why!? For what!?
Ao Quan: Some people have to wrong idea about you and Wang Zi.
Xiao Jie (B): Yea, those ‘psycho’ girls...can go to all limits just to mess with you.
Me: ...Don’t look down on me.
Wei Lian: We’re just warning you.
Apple: Our Gui Gui is brave.
Xiao Jie (G): And strong.
Tong Tong: She’s tough.
Ah Wei: Haha...she...doesn’t LOOK tough.
Me: LOOKS can be deceiving.
Ya Tou: Besides, we got Gui Gui’s back.
Ao Quan: We just felt we should warn you.
Da Ya: Well...then...xie xie.
Ao Quan: (he smiled) Ok, so we’ll be going now. (They walked away)
Me: Wei! Are you guys...FRIENDS of Wang Zi’s?
Ah Wei: Yea.
Xiao Yu: Childhood friends.

Xiao Jie(B): Why do you ask?
Me: Huh? Oh, just wondering. He seems like the kind that isolates himself or herself from everyone else.
Ao Quan: Looks can be deceiving. Oh! We never got your names. (he looks over at Da Ya)
Da Ya: Well...that’s your fault.
Ya Tou: Yea, we didn’t tell you guys to approach us.
Ah Wei: Wei, why must you guys be so mean?
Xiao Yu: Yea, we’re just asking for...(he counts us)...nine names.
Tong Tong: NINE names.
Xiao Jie: Actually... it’s only seven, because we already know Gui Gui and Xiao Jie.
Xiao Xun: We don’t want to introduce ourselves, so why won't you guys just GO away, just as quickly as you guys came.
Xiao Man: Besides, we’ve been in your class for about...three months now, and you guys STILL don’t know our names.
Ao Quan: Aiyo. *Sigh*
Da Ya: I'm Da Ya.
Tong Tong: Wei, why’d you do that?! (I began to laugh)
Me: Aiyo, Tong Tong, let it go. Its just your names.
Ya Tou: Yea, I guess...telling them our names won't hurt.
So the rest of them introduced themselves, and after the guys left, we stood in silence for a while. Da Ya was just ZONING out, into her own little place. “WEI!” I began, “Da Ya! What are you thinking about?” Da Ya jumped, “Huh? Oh, mei you la.” “Don’t lie,” Ya Tou remarked. “Yea,” Apple added. “I know what’s wrong with her!” Xiao Man exclaimed. We all turned to Xiao Man, with our FULL attention, even Da Ya. “Da Ya...”Xiao Man began, “...LIKES...Ao Quan!” Da Ya answered right away, “HOW CAN YOU CONCLUDE SUCH A THING?!” “Well...”Xiao Xun started, “Da Ya...DO you like Ao Quan?” Da Ya smiled... I laughed. “Ni!” I said, pointing to her, “you DO like him!” “So!?” Da Ya fought back, “YOU like Wang Zi! No one said anything!” I stopped laughing, as Tong Tong them all began to laugh. “Wei,” I began, “that’s not...funnie.” “Aiyo, Gui Gui,” Da Ya began, “we were only kidding.” I laughed with them, and then the bell rang to go back to class.
I sat in my seat, BORED to death. Then a note, out of NOWHERE, landed on my desk, out in front of me. I switched my gaze...from Wang Zi, to the note I took the paper and opened it. It read: ‘You're staring at him again. Hahaha-Da Ya’ I laughed under my breath and wrote back: ‘So? There’s nothing wrong with that. I see you staring at your CRUSH over there too (Ao Quan). Hehehe =D-Gui Gui.’ I tossed it back to her.

Da Ya: Yep! Staring at him, and PROUD of it! And I never said anything was wrong with you staring at Wang Zi! I think you should go for him! Jia you! But...about Ao Quan...i wonder...when I’ll talk to him again... =l
Me: Aiyo! Da Ya! How can you be so stupid! Of course you two will talk again. You...just have to run into him again. Which...we can arrange...
Da Ya: Gui Gui! I am telling you now! DO NOT do whatever your planning to do! Please, don’t do it. I'm begging you...PLEASE.
Me: I just WANTED to help you, but...i guess...we’ll just find him for you to talk to. Is that okay?
Da Ya: Ok. That’s how I wanted to start it. Xie xie, Gui Gui!
Me: Uh huh. No problem. You got my back, I got yours.
Da Ya: Ok. Let’s end this conversation now. Some of us can't multitask, like you, and do two things at once. Its hard to pay attention, and write a note all at once, and STILL be smart.
Me: WHY do you say that I am smart?! Just because I don’t get lower than a ‘C’ on my grades, doesn’t mean I'm smart!
Da Ya: Uh huh. Sure.
Me: Aiyo, forget it. Just tell the others about YOUR plan of finding and talking to Ao Quan.
After class, we went to my locker to get my science book, Da Ya told Ya Tou them about HER plan.
Apple: Da Ya...so...you’re just going to TALK to him?
Da Ya: Yep.
Ya Tou: No... ‘running into him’ on accident...things...?
Da Ya: Nope.
All of them (except Da Ya and me): Wow.
Me: Aiyo! Stop with all the stupid questions! Lets just be happy she’s going to TALK to him.
Xiao Xun: So...Da Ya...WHY do you like him anyways?
Da Ya: His attitude, his LOOKS, his personality, the way he dresses-
Mei Mei: OK! Da Ya, we know you can go on forever with that list!
Xiao Man: Da Ya, I think you should go find him now.
Ao Quan came up behind Da Ya. “Find who?” he asked. She nearly jumped FIVE feet into the air, but she DID yell at the TOP of her lungs. He laughed and she turned all red, then ran off. “What's up with her?” Xiao Yu asked Ao Quan. Ao Quan shrugged, “Wo bu zhi dao.” “Ao Quan,” Xiao Jie (B) began, “I think you scared her.” Xiao Xun pushed Xiao Yu out of the way, and we ran after Da Ya. After a while, I stopped, and Tong Tong them also stopped. “What now?” Ya Tou asked. “Let’s split,” I suggested, “whoever finds Da Ya first, tells the others.” They nodded at my idea and we split into our own directions. I ran to the back of the school, and there Da Ya was, at the fountain. She sat at the edge of the water, facing the fountain. He foot dipped and soaked in water. I walked over to her, took off my shoes, and joined her. Without even turning to look at me, she said, “If you’re going to ask me why I ran off...the answer is I don’t know.” I smiled, “I knew you would say that.” My foot kicked up water from the fountain every now and then. “Then why did you come find me?” Da Ya asked. I looked over at her, but her eyes still focused on the water, and it sparkled with the water that fell from the fountain, and splashed before us. “Da Ya,” I began, “We’re friends. We couldn’t just leave you, like nothing happened. You’re probably hurt, or confused right now, that’s why Xiao Man us, split to find you! I just happened to find you first!” Da Ya smiled a weak smile and continued to gaze at the fountain. Her eyes were SO sparkling now... it looked like they filled with tears... “You're not really good at faking a smile, you know that?” I told her. She actually smiled this time. “That’s because you're the All-time ‘fake-smile-er’,” she began, “you can tell a FAKE smile from a REAL smile.” I laughed at her remark, “Believe me, if you’ve been through all the pain I’ve been through...you’d understand.” Da Ya laughed, “Zhi dao, that’s why you have such a weird attitude...” I laughed with her, then I thought about her and Ao Quan... “Da Ya,” I began, “I know you REALLY like Ao Quan...its not a feeling that’s just developed...you’ve liked him for a long time. I think you should tell him your feelings ...but...if you want it to be easier...i suggest you become friends with him first. Just, NOT too good of friends...because then it’d feel awkward.” I laughed, and Da Ya smiled. “Gui Gui...” she began slowly... “Xie xie ni.” I smiled at her, then she hugged me, but we fell into the water; it was only knee deep! We turned around and saw Xiao Man them. “Ni!” I said, pointing at them with water running down my face and hair (I was SOAKING wet!), “YOU guys pushed us?!” Mei Mei them laughed, and Da Ya and I pulled them into the water to join us. “Gui Gui!” Ya Tou began, “you lost our race, so we pushed you into the water, but WHY did you pull us to join with you!?” I laughed, “Because you guys got Da Ya wet, too!” Da Ya yelled out, “YEA! What was that for!?” Apple laughed, “Da Ya, you just HAD to be hugging Gui Gui. If you two weren't hugging, we wouldn’t have gotten you wet!” “We overheard you two talking,” Xiao Jie(G) changed the subject. “Oh,” I began, “So? What's wrong with that!?” “You were SUPPOSE to tell us when you found Da Ya!” Tong Tong answered. “Well,” I began, “I couldn’t leave her! She would've left! Then we’d NEVER find her!....Aiyo, I know I was wrong...dui bu qi.” Tong Tong them laughed. “Gui!” Ya Tou began, “I REALLY can't believe that your attitude switches that easily.” “Yea,” Apple added, “One moment you were arguing against us, then the next...you're apologizing!” I laughed, “I know! I'm SO random!” “Come on,” Da Ya finally said, “lets get out of this fountain, before we get sick.” We agreed, and got out.
