Chapter 7
My Decision
After Da Ya and the rest of us talked til we dried from the water, we finally decided to go home. I was on my way home, when my hands turned all warm. I looked around to see if Aaron was anywhere in sight. He wasn’t around, but I knew he’d find me, so I jumped behind a bush to hide from him. “Ooh! Who are we hiding from!?” someone next to me asked. I slowly turned to face the person...and saw Aaron. I jumped out from the bush. “Ni!” I exclaimed, “Why are you following me?” He smiled, “Wo? I wasn’t following you. I meant to hide in here to scare you, but you ruined my plan. You HAD to jump into the bush.” “Ni!” I yelled, pointing at him, “Ni!” I didn’t know what to say, so I dropped my finger, and continued to walk home. Aaron ran after me, and held onto my elbow. I stopped, turned around to look at him, and gave him a dark glare. When he still didn’t let go, I brushed away his grip. Then I continued to walk. He ran after me, but didn’t hold onto my elbow this time. “Gui Gui,” he began, “let me walk you home.” “Tsh,” I uttered, “Mei you. Its alright...i don’t need you to do that. I don’t want you to walk me home.” Aaron smiled, “Are you sure...?” I ignored him, and continued walking. “Alright!” he yelled loud enough for EVERYONE to hear, “I'm going then.” I didn’t care about what he said. I walked and stopped when three guys approached me.
Guy 1: Hello there.
Guy 2: What is YOUR name?
I ignored them, and walked away. They ran after me, and stopped me.
Guy 3: Do you have a boyfriend yet?
I laughed at them.
Me: Aaron...
Guy 1: Aaron!?
Guy 3: Aaron’s your boyfriend!?
I laughed again, and said, “Mei you. I meant, Aaron set you guys up to this. You guys really synchronized this plan VERY well, too bad your acting is bad.” “What-what are you talking about?” the second guy stuttered. “Don’t act stupid with me,” I started, “Alright, I’ll show you guys what I'm talking about.” I walked over to the bush that I jumped into before. Aaron jumped out of it and laughed. “How-how did you know?” he asked in-between laughs, “you are VERY smart.” I ignored him, and walked the opposite way from him and his friends. He walked over to his friends and they talked about something, then his friends walked off. (Note: Guy 1=Wu Zun. Guy 2=Jiro. Guy 3=Calvin) Aaron ran after me, and stopped me. “What do you WANT!?” I yelled at him. He smiled at me, but didn’t answer. “I'm not like those STUPID girls who think it’s CUTE when you smile,” I told him. He laughed, “There are girls who think its CUTE when I smile!?” “Aiyo,” I sighed, “you are REALLY annoying.” “Yea,” he said, “and you have a 360 degree attitude...you go from HAPPY to PISSED OFF.” I glared at him, but he went on, “How can you do that...and STILL be smart?” “Its doesn’t take a genius to know you planned that out, just now. I know you hang out with those guys at school.” Aaron laughed again, “So...YOU follow ME at school!?” “Ni!” I yelled at him, “Who’d want to follow YOU at school!!!” “You’ve said it yourself,” he began, “those girls that think its adorable when I smile, would probably want to follow me.” “Tsh,” I uttered, “don’t think so highly of yourself.” Aaron was about to say something, but I interrupted, and said, “WHAT do you WANT from me...?” Aaron smiled, “I just wanted to walk you home.” I was about to yell at him, the words were at the TIP of my tongue, but I held it back. I couldn’t do it...i can't hurt someone...someone who didn’t even do anything wrong. Someone...
*Flashback*
“What kind of promise?” I asked the woman. She smiled again, “You mustn't give up. Since you are one of a million...you MUST carry out this promise...and find true love, prove to the world that true love exists. You must promise me that you won't give up.” “I’ll do whatever it takes,” I replied, “I promise. I won't give up.”
*End of Flashback*
Someone...that is suppose to be...my true love. THINKING those two words, about Aaron...sent a shiver up my spines. “Ok,” I mumbled, “you...can...walk me home.” “Really?” Aaron asked (to make sure). I nodded glumly, “Really.” Aaron stuck his hand out, towards me, expecting me to take it. I ignored it, and looked away as I said, “That’s a LITTLE too far.” I walked home. Aaron walked with me...five steps to my right. It was a quiet walk. No one said anything, but inside my head, thoughts ran around, “I don’t like Aaron! WHY is he my true love!? WHY did I make that promise!? How come my life is always so messed up? Why couldn’t it be Wang Zi, as my true love!? I want Wang Zi...but then...I’ve never gotten anything I wanted. For once, I want to be spoiled...just this once...
We were halfway home, when I decided “...i have to, at least, make friends with Aaron. Even IF I don’t like him, even if he bothers me to the bone...i have to make friends with him. After all, I'm not really THIS cold-hearted, and besides... Aaron’s actually kind of nice...in a way...” I shuttered again, and stopped walking. When Aaron saw that I had stopped, he also stopped. “What's wrong?” he asked. I didn’t dare look at him. “Mei-mei you la,” I answered quickly. I REALLY didn’t want to cry. I didn’t want to hurt. Not here, not now, not in front of him. I turned to face Aaron, and said, “Its okay...i can walk home from here. Xie xie for accompanying me.” I faked out a smile. “Oh,” Aaron began, “ok, then.” I stood there...quiet... “Gui Gui,” he went on, “you REALLY are weird. You're attitude can change COMPLETELY, in such little time. 306 degrees!” he smiled at me, and I nodded, “Zhi dao. So...i’ll be going now. Bye...” I ran off. I can't do it. I can't become friends with Aaron, yet. If I become friends with him at a time like this...feelings might develop, feelings might change._____________
